Written By: Nicole Yorkin & Dawn Prestwich

Synopsis: The spotlight shines on Doctor Bryce Varley (Zachary Knighton) as we learn the reason behind his blackout-botched suicide attempt and his consequently renewed faith in life — which has something to do with the beautiful Keiko Arahida (Yuko Takeuchi), a low-level Japanese business woman with a thing for sushi and tattoos. The Mosaic Team gets some insight into Demetri Noh's (John Cho) future murder, while Aaron Stark (Brian F. O'Byrne) struggles with the return of his daughter Tracy (Genevieve Cortese) and their shared taste for alcohol. Read more...

Episode Title: "Playing Cards with Coyote"

Written By: Marc Guggenheim & Barbara Nance

Synopsis: A break in the Mosaic case could offer Agent Mark Benford (Joseph Fiennes) the chance to catch a mysterious gunman and change the course of his own flash-forward. The enigmatic Simon (Dominic Monaghan), meanwhile, pays Lloyd Simcoe (Jack Davenport) a visit, leading the two to a high-stakes game of cards. Elsewhere, Aaron Stark's (Brian F. O'Byrne) reunion with his long-missing daughter Tracy (Genevieve Cortese) offers a new conspiratorial angle. Read more...

FlashForwardLast night's episode of "FlashForward" took one character off the board while introducing another in the form of Blue Hand associate Jeff Slingerland, played by Callum Keith Rennie of "Battlestar Galactica" fame. It's a tradition that fans of the ABC series should get used to, as executive producer and showrunner David Goyer told MTV News that there are plenty of new characters waiting in the wings as the episodes progress.

"We're introducing quite a few new characters down the line," said Goyer, who revealed that he and the "FlashForward" writers have already penned episodes with the adult version of the scarred Somalian boy from episode three. "We have already written that character as an adult. We're hoping to have a certain actor play him. We haven't nailed it down yet, but we're crossing our fingers." Read more...

Written By: Lisa Zwerline & Ian Goldberg

Synopsis: The specific intentions of the Blue Hand become clearer as agents Mark Benford (Joseph Fiennes), Demetri Noh (John Cho) and Al Gough (Lee Thompson Young) dig deep into the organization's seedy underbelly. But that's not the only difficulty that Noh and Gough have to contend with, as each agent deals with the life-or-death implications of their experiences during the blackout. Read more...

A few weeks back, Marc Guggenheim departed his role as co-showrunner of "FlashForward," leaving the job solely to co-creator David Goyer. The move came as a surprise to many, considering the critical approval that the show has received. Goyer himself touts tonight's episode as the best installment yet. Sure there are challenges, but that is true of every show on television.

Many have wondered how Guggenheim's exit might effect the upcoming slate of episodes. Goyer has a great background in film and TV; his writing on Chris Nolan's "Batman" films revived the ailing franchise and he executive produced the underrated TV series "Threshold." "FlashForward" is his biggest TV project yet, but he brings a lot of experience to the table and will be fine without Guggenheim. Besides, Goyer told MTV in a recent interview that the departure was hardly a surprise — indeed, it was always part of the plan. Read more...

DESCA massive 12.4 million viewers tuned into "FlashForward" for the series premiere in September, with that number slowly petering off as the weeks have worn on.

But those original viewers might want to cancel their Thursday night plans and check out what "FlashForward" has in store this week, as showrunner David Goyer described the upcoming installment as "the best episode so far."

"I honestly think it's maybe the best thing that I've been involved in, absent or including 'Batman Begins' and 'The Dark Knight,'" Goyer told MTV News in an exclusive interview. "I'm that proud of it." Read more...

FlashForwardEpisode Title: "Scary Monsters and Super Creeps"

Written By: Seth Hoffman and Quinton Peeples

The Story: Agents Demitri Noh (John Cho) and Al Gough (Lee Thompson Young) investigate the bullet-filled ambushes from last week's episode, while Agent Janis Hawk (Christine Woods) recovers from her wounds in the hospital. Meanwhile, the hospitalized son of Lloyd Simcoe (Jack Davenport) — the man that Olivia (Sonya Walger) will leave Mark (Joseph Fiennes) for in her flash-forward — goes missing, leading to an awkward encounter. Elsewhere, Simon (Dominic Monaghan) reemerges, and he's not the friendly little Hobbit we're all used to. Read more...

Vance) — heads to Washington, D.C. to speak before Congress about their investigation into the blackouts and resulting flash-forwards, culminating in difficult choices for Wedeck, hard realizations for Benford and plenty of gunfire. Meanwhile, Agent Janis Hawk (Christine Woods) explores a new relationship. Read more...

Just last month, producers David Goyer and Brannon Braga were touting their latest television effort "FlashForward" here on Movies Blog. Both viewers and critics alike mostly embraced the ABC series following the premiere — but flash-forward one month later to today, and the Joseph Fiennes/John Cho-starring series seems to have hit a significant snag.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, executive producer and co-showrunner Marc Guggenheim is abandoning his "FlashForward" post, leaving David Goyer as the sole showrunner. Read more...
