Seth RogenThese days, Judd Apatow and friends are exploring deeper, more meaningful issues than most Hollywood comedies dare -– and they’re doing it at the top of the box-office. One of the film’s stars, Seth Rogen, is in the process of re-defining his career. Superhero flick "The Green Hornet" starts shooting soon and the comedy/drama “I’m With Cancer” will come after that.

The idea was to put the so-called trailer online and build interest for a feature film.

It worked. In January of last year, after competition among several production companies, Mandate Pictures secured the rights and started making plans to bring "Jay and Seth" to the big screen. Read more...

Seth Rogen and James Franco in 'Pineapple Express'It's the buzzword of 2008: Cross-pollination. And it's all the rage these days thanks to Marvel's ambitious slate, which already included Nick Fury showing up in "Iron Man" and Tony Stark showing up in "The Incredible Hulk." So if comics can get away with it, why not Judd Apatow?

We're actually not joking. Combining Apatow's comedies isn't just a good idea, it's an idea whose time very well may come soon, "Pineapple Express" star James Franco told MTV News.
