FROM SPLASH PAGE: Sure, Anne Hathaway is the latest in a long line of rumored contenders for the role of Black Cat in "Spider-Man 4" (even though there's no confirmation the character is even in the film), but does anyone remember another rumor from a few years back that cast an entirely different actress in the role?
Well, even if you didn't remember the pre-"Spider-Man 3" rumor that had "Dollhouse" actress Eliza Dushku playing cat burglar Felicia Hardy, we did — and we asked her about it when she dropped by Splash Page HQ a while back.
"Don't you love the Internet and the fans out there?" Dushku laughed when MTV Movies Editor Josh Horowitz asked if she'd seen the fan-made "Spider-Man 4" posters with her as Black Cat. "They do it up!"

Cancelling "Dollhouse" disappointed a lot of Joss Whedon fans when FOX announced that it had pulled the plug, but Eliza Dushku felt the brunt of the decision as hard as anyone. She faced her Twitter followers with the news today and a sad smiley.
Mike Tyson, meanwhile, reportedly faced a paparazzo, landing at least one good punch, and Kirstie Alley has his back in Twitter-Wood. There were a few great pics today in the feed, too, including a shot from MoMA's new Tim Burton exhibit and Sarah Silverman's birthday tribute to her show's multi-talented producer, director and writer Rob Schrab, better known to any comic book readers out there as the creator of "Scud: The Disposable Assassin." Check those out after the jump and find out which "Twilight" actor visiting Alex Rodriguez's home. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for November 12, 2009. Read more...
When "Twilight" cast members began tweeting about subjects involving missing clothing, I definitely did not expect to log on to Twitter today and find out that Christian Serratos decided to outdo all of them, but but her new garment-less PETA ad definitely succeeded.
Dane Cook and Ice-T, meanwhile, were less focused on saving fur and more intent on playing "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" this weekend, according to their posts, and at least one of them found himself in possession of some nightvision goggles. Check all of that out after the jump along with Danny Masterson's criticism for Andre Agassi, "Toy Story 3" director Lee Unkrich's favorite childhood toy and much more. I'm @brianwarmoth and this is the Twitter-Wood report for November 9, 2009. Read more...

Yankees supporters were out in force last night, and a few Twitter-Wood citizens were right by the field uploading pics. Brody Stevens may have shot the most enviable of the day, apparently getting soon-to-be-MVP Hideki Matsui in the dugout before the game. Jeremy Piven caught another high-quality photo-op, though, standing with his fellow Chicagoan Brian Urlacher.
Poor John Favreau was stuck in the editing room for "Iron Man 2," though, which he noted on his account. Larry King, Eliza Dushku and other added their thoughts after Phillies finally went down. Check out all of their tweets, along with Brett Ratner's pic with Mariah Carey after wrapping her video and Andy Milonakis. They're all in the Twitter-Wood report for November 5, 2009. Read more...
Someone with a steady hand sent Sean Patrick Flannery a picture of the best "Boondock Saints" jack-o-lantern you're likely to see this year, and he retweeted in kind. There really wasn't any other choice for the Twitter Pic of the Day.
In other tweets, David Slade continued his "Eclipse" posting with a shot of one of the film's stunt co-coordinators and Rachelle LeFevre admitted to crying during "Where the Wild Things Are." Check out those post below along an old clip of The Ultimate Warrior that Aziz Ansari dug up, how Eliza Dushku feels about Dungeons & Dragons, who wants her at his table to play and how Ice-T is faring at "Borderlands" on his Xbox 360. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter-Wood report for October 27, 2009. Read more...

Have you been keeping up with this season of "Dollhouse," the Eliza Dushku-starring sci-fi series from the mind of "Buffy" creator Joss Whedon? MTV has you covered if you haven't, with Josh Wigler's weekly recaps, so far just for episodes one and two.
It is "Dollhouse" that will bring the lovely Ms. Dushku to the offices of MTV News tomorrow. Movies editor Josh Horowitz will be sitting down to chat with her, on "Dollhouse," on her upcoming movie "Open Graves"... really on anything under the sun. Including the questions that you give us for her. Shoot us an e-mail at tips@mtvmoviesblog.com with your questions and keep checking MTV this week for a recap of what the "Dollhouse" star had to say.
Episode Title: "Instinct"
Written by: Michele Fazekas & Tara Butters
The Story: Echo (Eliza Dushku) has been many people and many things -- a blind churchgoer, an athletic damsel in distress, a dead woman solving her own murder -- but this time, she enters the world of motherhood once Topher (Fran Kranz) imprints her with a physiological bond to another man's baby. Her role is to replace the baby's dead mother, but Echo's attachment to the child takes more than a few turns for the worse -- and not even her handler Paul Ballard (Tahmoh Penikett) can break that bond. If "Dollhouse" has one defining weakness, it comes in the form of Echo, the show's central character played by Eliza Dushku. The problem isn't necessarily in the acting -- though that could be argued -- but more in the fact that, as a character who literally changes personalities from week to week, it's nearly impossible to fully latch onto her plight.
When your show's central conceit focuses on a veritable brothel specializing in the sales of attractive, impressionable human beings, the lack of an accessible main character is a tremendous problem. I think that even the staunchest of Joss Whedon's fans would agree that they've stuck with "Dollhouse" not because it's a particularly riveting television experience, but because there's enough promise for it to eventually become worthwhile.
Thankfully, season two is looking to deliver on that promise. Read more...
Warmoth is out today. So @geminibros is here to steer the great ship Twitter-Wood. [insert requisite grumbling here]. [insert requisite praising of Warmoth's patience and skill in crafting this daily column here].
Today's Twitter-Wood report is light on variety, but with good cause. Bob Saget's new lady-love took the TwitPic prize, though Eliza Dushku followed close behind for shouting out to her "Dollhouse" fans. There's also a mini-update from "Twilight" star Peter Facinelli and a Brett Ratner burn from writer Brian Lynch. The highlight though is an exchange between pals Jason Reitman, Edgar Wright and Diablo Cody. Mr. Wright made some comments about the upcoming John Travolta/Robin Williams-starring family comedy "Old Dogs" and he caught some heat for it. Hilarity, of course, ensues. I'm @geminibros and this is your Twitter-Wood report for September 25, 2009. Read more...
"Twilight" frustrations bubbled up in the Twitter-Wood feed today, though I'm not sure what some of them were about precisely. David Slade reiterated his irritation at planes flying over his "Eclipse" set, which may have been compounded by problems involving goats. Meanwhile, Christian Serratos cryptically sounded off with her desire to see "New Moon," which apparently she is not allowed to do quite yet.
Elsewhere, photos from Eliza Dushku and Emmy Rossum showed up with flannel shirt thoughts and a mysterious coconut left in the back of a taxi cab. You really don't know where that's been, Emmy. (Be safe.) Sarah Silverman wins the Twitter Pic of the Day award, though. Click on down, and I think you'll see why. It's in the Twitter-Wood report for September 11, 2009. Read more...
