Remember back when we had "Twilight" faces showing up in the feed on a daily basis in Twitter-Wood? Well, they're all over the place doing things since "Eclipse" filmed and "New Moon" launched, and it's been a good two months since a TwitPic of Christian Serratos and Edi Gathegi showed up. But they reemerged today.
Lee Unkrich, meanwhile, has been a regular poster, showing off shots of the "Toy Story 3" cast as they've shown up to the studio to record. Yesterday, he got a visit from singer/songwriter Randy Newman, though, and he reports that a new song has been created -- presumably for the film. Make your own guesses and check out which "Hangover" actor is in a sling and which actor re-iterated that he's definitely returning for "Transformers 3" after the jump. Some days it's just too easy to select a Pic of the Day, and Brett Ratner posted a slow pitch this morning that was straight across the plate to Twitter-Wood. He may even make you wish that you had a magical leprechaun companion as well.
Meanwhile, it's been a long day since Oscar nominations for 2010 were announced, and I've got even more reactions that are retweeted below from Neil Gaiman, Eli Roth and Omar Doom. Check those out after the jump along with Snooki's response to rumors about nude photos of her being shopped around and a "Mad Men" actor who was none too thrilled to find out someone commandeered his iPod. It's all in Twitter-Wood for February 2, 2010. Read more...
Sunday's night's Golden Globe winners woke up on Monday and immediately began sharing their exploits from evening. Jason Reitman, had plenty to celebrate, considering he won a "Best Screenplay" trophy and "Up in the Air" got nominated in five other categories. He tweeted a shot with Mike Tyson from the ceremony, as did Eli Roth and Lake Bell side by side with their own entourage members.
In other tweets, Jodelle Ferland's Stephenie Meyer reading hasn't stopped with the "Twilight" series. She just finished "The Host" and wants to find more. Her "Eclipse" co-star Tinsel Korey, meanwhile, name-checked the "Boondocks" animated series as one her favorite ways to spend her free time. Check out those posts along with Jon Hurwitz's hopes for Conan O'Brien and what Ice-T and his wife look like when they play "Army of Two." It's all in Twitter-Wood for January 19, 2010. Read more...
Jason Reitman wasn't bluffing yesterday when he said he would be carrying the Olympic Torch through Toronto, and he's got a picture up to prove it today. Selecting the Twitter Pic of the Day wasn't easy this afternoon, considering Reitman's post was accompanied by Eliza Dushku's shot of the "Dollhouse" wrap party, a view of "New Moon" actress Christian Serratos' latest photo shoot and a 2003 photo from Roger Ebert that appears to show Bob Dylan with blond hair.
Click on down, and you'll find all of those posts, as well as a few reactions to James Cameron's "Avatar," what Liv Tyler did inside Rainn Wilson's car and the celebratory gift Eli Roth plans on sending his fellow "Inglourious Basterds" actors in honor of their SAG Award nomination. It's all retweeted in the Twitter-Wood report for December 17, 2009. Read more...
Golden Globe Nominations were the talk of Twitter-Wood today with congratulatory posts, thank yous and reactions floating around from Jeremy Piven, Neil Patrick Harris, Diablo Cody and legions of others. "Twilight" actress Anna Kendrick was particularly giddy, nabbing a nomination for her performance in Jason Reitman's "Up in the Air."
Not all of today's tweets were about good news, though, and Ice-T was one of the first to post condolences to Eddie Murphy's brother Charlie, whose wife Tisha Taylor Murphy died of cancer Sunday. His thoughts are retweeted after the jump along with a glimpse at Leighton Meester performing at Butter in Manhattan last night. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for December 15, 2009. The Bear Jew's entrance in "Inglourious Basterds" is pure badassery. Dressed in a sleeveless undershirt and with a baseball bat in one hand, this Jewish-American solider played by Eli Roth saunters up to a captured Nazi and takes a swing at his head like it's the bottom of the ninth and he's looking to hit one out of the park.
The scene comes early in the film, but its impact reverberates through the entire picture—and the picture's impact continues to reverberate months after its release. With an almost $40 million opening weekend and a $120 million domestic gross, "Basterds" became the biggest film of Quentin Tarantino's career and stands to be a major player this awards season. With the DVD hitting shelves on Tuesday (December 15), Roth called up MTV News to talk about celebrating the movie's financial success, inviting Tarantino over for Passover and another "Basterds" film that just might happen in the future. The "Dexter" season finale was one of the most tweeted about of the year, and Twitter-Wood had most a before post from actor John Lithgow and an after reaction from Jessica Simpson waiting in the feed today.
Simon Pegg, meanwhile, checked out "Avatar" and posted his predictions for the "Star Wars" franchise based on what he saw. And speaking of assumptions based on seeing things, I indulged in three retweets from Eli Roth today, which you'll find were totally worth as you see him explain "The Office" actress Mindy Kaling's reaction to his aging automobile and how he uses it to test people he meets. You can read that after the jump alongside a pic of a kind who looks nearly identical to Russell from "Up" and a shot of Tom Felton from the British Comedy Awards last night. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for December 14, 2009. Read more...
FROM MTV.COM: It was a Sunday morning in late August and Quentin Tarantino was hunkered down in his Hollywood Hills home, trying to shut out the world. His chillingly bloody Nazi revenge epic "Inglourious Basterds" had opened two days earlier and the writer/director was following his normal ritual of not hearing his film's total weekend box-office haul until Monday. Then his doorbell rang.
Star Eli Roth and producer Pilar Savone were standing outside holding bottles of champagne and wearing T-shirts that stated the film's weekend estimate: over $37 million, the 46-year-old director's biggest opening ever.
"I never knew I'd make a movie that would do that well on an opening weekend, so that was pretty groovy," Tarantino told MTV News.

As Eli Roth continues to tweak his script for "Endangered Species" with an eye toward shooting in 2010, folks have been wondering if the director still plans to film his "Grindhouse" trailer-spinoff "Thanksgiving," directly after "Species."
The answer, Roth told MTV News, is yes.
"My friend Jeff Rendell, who I wrote the trailer with and who plays the pilgrim, he's in Boston right now but he's coming out to LA in January and we're going to knock out the script in a week. I want to have it ready so I can go right from 'Endangered Species' to 'Thanksgiving' back to back. I want 'Thanksgiving' to be like dessert!" Read more...
Summit Entertainment is understandably busy these days, as the "New Moon" box office cash continues to roll in. In the last few weeks, to mention just a few of the studio's developing projects, there's been talk about splitting "Twilight" final installment "Breaking Dawn" into two films, a Brad Pitt-produced Dracula movie and a sci-fi flick from Eli Roth called "Invasion."
Last Friday, MTV News got an update about that last project from Roth, who will produce. As expected, he didn't comment on any plot details. From what we hear the film will follow, à la "Cloverfield," a small group of people trying to survive an apocalyptic event. All Roth would say about the film's environmental theme is that's "it's a really simple idea, but really great." He was more forthcoming when talked turned to the type of director they want for the project, a search that is now active. Read more...
