The annual New York City Marathon went down yesterday. Among the thousands of runners was "The Incredible Hulk" star Edward Norton and his new Maasai warrior friends. The group of them ran in support of the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust. Norton even interrupted his training last week to stop by the office for a chat about the charity stunt.
One thing we learned during Norton's visit, not seen in the video above, was his plan to beat the running time of former Vice Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin. She posted a time of just less than four hours when she ran in 2005. Norton took that as a challenge, telling MTV's Josh Horowitz "I'm gonna beat Sarah Palin like a rug!" So how did he do? Back in September, word emerged that Edward Norton, star of "The Incredible Hulk," would be participating in this year's New York City Marathon (sponsored by ING) on November 1. What's more, he'd be joined on the run by a trio of Maasai warriors in support of the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust. The plan is for these four to lead a group of 30 runners through the 26.2 mile foot race.
As you might imagine, this sort of undertaking requires a considerable amount of training. Lots of people, your Movies Blog editor for one, are huffing and puffing after less than one mile. Imagine the effort required to sustain oneself through 26 miles. Today's Daily TwitPic shows us Norton and his Maasai companions prepping for that effort with some meditative yoga exercises. Stay Zen, y'all. Read more...
"Eclipse" actress Jodelle Ferland claims that hackers descended on her website, which would explain the disarray currently on display if you visit Jodelle-Ferland.net. Her "Twilight" series costar Ashley Greene seemed to be having a much better weekend, however, taking in the U2 concert at the Rose Bowl Sunday night. Greene was joined by Danny DeVito, Demi Moore, and a host of others who tweeted pictures from the night.
Elsewhere, Tom Felton and Emmy Rossum are still undecided on their Halloween costumes, but Felton has officially nixed a Dalmation outfit and Rossum may be warming up to Pippi Longstocking. Check out what they had to say after the jump along with Edward Norton doing yoga, Billy Burke's "Harry Potter" shout-out and Stephen Fry's new secret video game role. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for October 26, 2009. Read more...
There was a lot to catch up on in Twitter-Wood today after my long weekend, including the 40th anniversary of Monty Python's first appearance on television, which member John Cleese and fan Edgar Wright both noted. Elsewhere, Edward Norton and Danny Masterson had good things to tweet about Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke's live solo performance, and Miley Cyrus and Ashley Tisdale joined Paris Hilton among those tweeting their Halloween costume plans for 2009.
There is loads more to check out, though, believe it or not, as James Gunn tweeted a pic of himself offering juice to a horse that may belong to Rainn Wilson and Jeremy Piven posted a behind-the-scene shot of Matt Damon from "Entourage." I can't even summarize it all today, I retweeted so many people. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is your Twitter-Wood report for October 5, 2009. Read more...

An epic week of "Twilight" TwitPics continues, this time with Peter Facinelli offering an actor's eye view of his favorite "Eclipse" makeup artist. Rachelle Lefevre also unleashed a few shots of her and her dog, who may not be an artist, but definitely looks soft.
Other Twitter revelations today include Fred Durst's affinity for a Boba Fett statue that he refuses to part with no matter where he moves, as well as Lloyd Kaufman's rundown of Troma films that studios have offered to remake. Read on, and you'll find out about all of that, as well as where to find the "Toy Story 3" trailer and how big of a drinking glass Jerry Lewis can stuff into his mouth. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter-Wood report for October 1, 2009. Read more...

The Fall season always means two things -- it's time to wrap up marathon training and start planning Halloween costumes. Edward Norton and Paris Hilton are on top of those tasks, respectively. Norton's planning on running with some Kenyans in New York on November 1st, while Paris is hard a work costume hunting, but you'll have click on down to see where she's shopping.
Also today, Alyssa Milano emphatically denied that she is pregnant, so rumor-mongers back off. Read on to check out what she said, as well as where John Hodgman has been reading about Juggalos, what the weather is like on the "Eclipse" set and what Paul Reubens would have looked like in your high school yearbook. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for September 29, 2009. Read more...

MTV Movies editor Josh Horowitz is out of the country right now, gallivanting around the Toronto International Film Festival while the rest of us madly prepare for Sunday's 2009 Video Music Awards here in New York City. Josh got there yesterday, and he hit the ground running. There's plenty more to come from TIFF, but for now please enjoy these impressions of "The Invention of Lying," starring and directed by Ricky Gervais.
Is there such a thing as a genial black comedy? If so, “The Invention of Lying” might be it. This marks two Toronto fests in a row when a Ricky Gervais-starrer has screened (and junketed). I’ll be talking to Gervais, his leading lady, Jennifer Garner (don’t worry Ricky mocks this unlikely genetic coupling more than you possibly fathom), and Rob Lowe (in a typically nefarious turn—see “Wayne’s World 2” for reference.). Right now, MTV's Josh Horowitz is living it up at the Toronto International Film Festival. While he's attending a record number of screenings and interviewing all manner of celebrity talent, the rest of the MTV News team is here in New York, madly prepping for Sunday night's Video Music Awards.
Of course, Josh being on the ground in Toronto means we're going to be able to bring you all sorts of really cool news straight from the fest. News like this: we've just learned that "The Incredible Hulk" star Edward Norton will be participating in this year's New York City Marathon, to support the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust, a Kenya-based conservation group. Norton will be joined by 3 authentic Maasai warriors; the quartet will lead 30 people along the twisting 26.2 mile long route. Read more...

With the new Steven Soderbergh picture, “The Girlfriend Experience,” porn star Sasha Grey is making a bid for mainstream movie stardom. As she makes the crossover, though, she shared her thoughts with MTV News about who she’d like to see make the leap from conventional Hollywood fare to hardcore adult film.
High on her list is “Twilight” vampire and MTV favorite Robert Pattinson. “He’s not bad,” Grey said with a sly smile. “There’s something about him.” Read more...
They’re two of the most talented and admired artists working today in Hollywood, and both Edward Norton and Tim Blake Nelson have impressed with their ability to write, direct and act while moving effortlessly from big-budget blockbusters to passion projects. Now, mere months after the duo joined forces on “The Incredible Hulk,” they have wrapped production on “Leaves of Grass,” taking their appreciation for duality to a whole new level.

“’Leaves of Grass’ is about an Ivy League classics professor who is lured home to Oklahoma by his eccentric, pot-growing brother to involve him in a scheme to help save the pot-grower’s life,” explained Nelson, who wrote, directed and appears in the film, which recently wrapped principal photography.
