Back in June, "The Other Guys" star Mark Wahlberg had some interesting news for MTV about HBO's "Entourage," which he executive produces. Explaining that he is "more focused on making that movie than my own films," Wahlberg went on to reveal that the plan is for a six-episode mini-season next year, to be followed by a movie.

Now that information has been doubly confirmed, by HBO's president of programming Michael Lombardo. Speaking at the just-concluded Television Critics Association press tour, he confirmed that "Entourage" will end next summer, with the hoping being for a movie to follow the series. "Doug clearly wants to write a film but wants to do it if it makes sense for the story," Lombardo said. "We have a long-term relationship with Doug Ellin, and I'm sure you'll soon see another series from him here. But next summer will definitely be the final season of 'Entourage.'" (via Deadline)

A little background might be in order before the above headline makes any sense. There's this HBO Original Series called "Entourage." Maybe you've heard of it. Four pals from New York City move to Los Angeles when one of them, Vinny Chase (Adrian Grenier) makes a name for himself as a Hollywood star. The half-hour comedy series invites viewer to join Chase and his crew in sampling the sweet, sweet celebrity high life. Needless to say, cameo appearances and pop culture references abound.

A recent episode poked a little bit of fun at "Funny People" star Seth Rogen. It was more than a little bit really. Rogen's "ugliness" was pegged as "oddly fascinating," and a couple of characters questioned the plausibility of Katherine Heigl ever sleeping with his character in Judd Apatow's 2007 comedy "Knocked Up."
