Believe it or not, Daniel Craig is more than just James Bond and the guy that almost played Thor. He’s also a solid dramatic actor who has performed some impressive work in films like “Munich.”

And after “Quantum of Solace” returns him to 007’s tuxedo, Craig will get dramatic again with “Defiance,” an Oscar-bait flick which opens at the end of this year. “It’s a true story set in World War 2,” explained producer Marshall Herskovitz, whose Bedford Falls production company is making the film. “This is very different from James Bond.”

Co-starring Liev Shreiber and Jamie Bell, the flick is directed by the man behind Oscar-nominees “Blood Diamond” and “The Last Samurai.” “Ed Zwick just directed it in Lithuania this year,” Herskovitz explained. “It’s really quite an amazing film, and we’re very proud of it.” Read more...
