Whosoever holds this movie ticket, if he be worthy, shall see the power of "Thor." Moviegoers nationwide are getting ready for Marvel Studios' next big superhero endeavor, out in theaters today, and the fans lurking about Hollywood are coming out of the woodwork as well.
In other news, last night's episode of "Community" thrust the gang back into the middle of paintball warfare, though one "Lost" star is taking the game a bit too seriously. In case you missed the ep, one of the show's actresses has you covered. Plus, find out how some of your favorite stars partied down on Cinco de Mayo yesterday!

Last year's Sundance favorite "Adventures of Power" hits DVD on January 25, and Phase 4 Films and Onitsuka Tiger are partnering to give the film one heck of a kick-ass launch.
The DVD launch party will take place on January 27th in Los Angeles, and will feature a live performance by the indie folk-rock band the Honey Bros., a.k.a. the band in which "Entouarge" and "Adventures of Power" star Adrian Grenier plays drums. It will also serve to advertise a concurrent online auction that will benefit VH1's Save the Music Foundation, which ensures that children have access to a musical education and instruments.
The auction will kick off online on CharityBuzz.com on January 25 and run through February 22. Auction items include celebrity-signed instruments such as an autographed cymbal from Ringo Starr and signed drums from Neil Peart of Rush, Marky Ramone of the Ramones and Lars Ulrich of Metallica. Fans will also be able to bid on "experiential" items such as lunch with Marky Ramone and an acting audition with "Role Models" director David Wain. Get more auction details on the film's official site, and hit the jump to check out Adrian Grenier in an "Adventures of Power" music video. Read more...

Writer-director Blake Edwards' death was felt in Twitter-Wood today. His films such as "Breakfast at Tiffany"'s and "The Pink Panther" influenced generations of Hollywood talent, and a few such actors and directors, including Edgar Wright, Steve Martin and William Shatner paid their respects with posts.
The sports world was sad as well, with Hall of Fame pitcher Bob Feller passing away; Brody Stevens honored his legacy, while yet even more distraught tweets reacted to news that "Stargate Universe" has been canceled on Syfy. Check out who's going to miss it down below.

It's only normal to see some complaints about election outcomes the day after, but Frankie Muniz intends to do something about his dissatisfaction. According to an update on his Twitter account from yesterday, someone tried planting some campaign signs on his lawn, but he caught them on tape in the act. Andy Milonakis, meanwhile, was much more resentful that Prop 19 failed to pass in California, and Judd Apatow thinks yesterday's results across the country will largely benefit the comedy industry.
The last 24 hours haven't been without their photo ops, either, as Sofia Vergara ran into Justin Bieber, and David Wain claims to have a shot with Jennifer Aniston, though I can't vouch for that just looking at it. Judge for yourself after the jump where you'll also see which films Kevin Smith and Ludacris have been working on.

While netting a box-office-topping $23 million this weekend, "The Social Network" also got Twitter-Wood talking, both about Facebook and Justin Timberlake. Producer Dana Brunetti shared his happiness with the world, while Damon Lindelof had to reconcile his reaction to the film with his wife's affection for the former 'N Sync singer. His thoughts, as well as those of David Wain and Paris Hilton have been collected below.
In other tweets, an early look at Halloween on the "Modern Family" set showed up on Sofia Vergara's account, and Rainn Wilson addressed his strategy for fighting the Taliban. You can find out more about that after the jump along with Patton Oswalt's take on Christine O'Donnell.

Be warned, there was some adult content in the Twitter-Wood feed today. As they appear below, Michael Ian Black's feelings about oatmeal and Russell Brand's interaction with Elmo have been made safe for work, but I can't promise anything after you've clicked on through to their Twitter pages.
The big-news topics of discussion today were of course Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston's break-up redux and A-Rod's new home run benchmark, though, and those reactions have not been left out. Find out who you agree with and why Patton Oswalt wants to see "The Expendables" after the jump.

San Diego Comic-Con ended yesterday, thus ending the tidal wave of news that entertainment reporters all over will now spend the next week (or more) sorting through. Other than an isolated violent outburst, all reports point to a strong show overall. The Avengers assembled, the world of "Tron Legacy" was seen in greater detail and new looks at "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" delighted the masses.
We've got a relatively quiet day here in the MTV Newsroom while the Movies team makes their way back from San Diego to New York. With hours of tape captured from the event also enroute with them, expect a lot of recap today. I figured we'd start of with a couple of fun looks at SDCC, compliments of "The State" vet David Wain, who is being held at blasterpoint by a pair of Imperial Stormtroopers, and "Super" writer/director James Gunn, who really enjoyed Disney's "Tron Legacy" party. Stay tuned for more from SDCC throughout the day. Read more...

Last night's posts coming out of Twitter-Wood were full of glamorous party shots from around San Diego and photo ops with cosplayers from Comic-Con. James Gunn for instance checked out some "Tron" costumes, while David Wain got detained by a couple of Stormtroopers.
Things were going on outside Comic-Con as well, though. Demi Moore took a pic with her "LOL" co-star Miley Cyrus. Bret Easton Ellis laughed at "Inception," and Rich Sommer went to a "Simpsons" read-through. You'll find those retweets and info on who had dinner with Ellen Page after the jump.

Judd Apatow. If anyone can make dreams of an "Anchorman" sequel come true, he can. Right? Sadly, no. He wants for it to happen, but the way he spoke of it with MTV's Christina Garibaldi on the Time 100 red carpet this week, it sounds like he's waiting just like the rest of us.
"I know everyone wants to do it. And so I hope that they get the chance to make it," he said. "The world needs more 'Anchorman,' that's clear." It is clear. But if not "Anchorman," then what's next? Read more...

"The Last Airbender" gained at least one new actor in its final days of re-shoots, according to the tweets of Aasif Mandvi. He didn't indicate whether or not the last-minute casting was for a major part, but it sounds like everyone had a good time.
Many more Twitter-Wood citizens had a grand time at the "Kick-Ass" premiere last night, and several big-name attendees were particularly impressed with Hit-Girl actress Chloe Moretz. Eli Roth and Nathan Fillion were two of them. In other posts, Damon Lindelof did his best to sell "Glee" watchers on "Lost," Randy Newman's "Toy Story 3" scoring wrapped and David Wain went to the dentist. You can check out photographic evidence after the jump in Twitter-Wood for April 14th, 2010. Read more...
