"Harry Potter" fans around the world owe producer David Heyman a whole lot of thanks. He is the man who literally found Harry Potter when he petitioned Daniel Radcliffe to play the Boy Who Lived more than a decade ago. He is the man who convinced J.K. Rowling that she should trust Warner Bros to adapt her bestselling novels for the big screen. He is the man who acted as a father figure to the young stars of the series and help keep them from, for lack of a better term, Lohan-ing out.

But when MTV News caught up with Heyman last night at the NYC premiere of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," he placed the majority of the credit for the movies being successful onto the shoulders of its four directors.

Marion CotillardIf there was still a small part of you that thought that Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt's casting in "The Dark Knight Rises" as some cruel joke, let those fears officially be put to rest.

Warner Bros. released a statement today announcing that Christopher Nolan's oft-rumored "Inception" collaborators are indeed a part of "The Dark Knight Rises," though not necessarily in the roles you'd expect. Cotillard will play Miranda Tate, a board member at Wayne Enterprises, and Gordon-Levitt has been tapped for John Blake, a Gotham City cop under Commissioner Gordon. Despite that, though, our friends over at Splash Page think Nolan might still be keeping some tricks up his sleeve. They think there's still a chance Cotillard could be playing Talia Al Ghul, and we're betting that there's more than meets the eye to JGL's cop as well.

After the jump, "Fast Six" gets a writer, "Red State" makes a profit, and finally some good news for "Gravity."

You know the old saying, "It ain't over 'til it's over"? Turns out, they were talking the "Harry Potter" film series. Who knew?

While the end is drawing depressingly near ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" will hit theaters on July 15), we can still savor the fact that it's not finished just yet. As "HP" producer David Heyman told MTV News at the "Harry Potter" exhibit opening/"Part 1" Blu-ray release event in New York City on Sunday, "I'm still in the middle of it. We're still editing ['Part 2.'] There's still a few months to go."

Harry PotterIf you (like me) have long been saying that "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" is the best of the "Potter" films, then the young voters behind the First Light Awards would agree with you.

A group of children aged five to 15 who are in association with the BAFTAs Kids' Vote organization voted "Prisoner of Azkaban" as the film of the decade for the First Light Awards, BBC News reports. The other movies in the voting pool were "Shrek," "Whale Rider," "Happy Feet" and "Up."

MagicThe magic of "Harry Potter" is coming to an end, but at least the masterminds behind the franchise are selfless enough to share it with us.

In a follow up to the best-selling 2010 book "Harry Potter Film Wizardry," Harper Collins has announced that they'll be publishing "Harry Potter Page to Screen: The Complete Filmmaking Journey" on October 25, a book that includes interviews with Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and more, plus commentary from director David Yates and producer David Heyman among others.

Since "Page to Screen" will be the first book to cover the creation of all eight "Harry Potter" flicks, we have plenty of questions we'd love to see answered in the compendium's 528 glossy pages. Click on after the jump to see what we hope to find.

Harry PotterIt's about time!

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts announced today that at this year's British Academy Film Awards they will give the "Harry Potter" film series the award for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema. The franchise has spanned more than a decade and has accomplished amazing feats, so we're glad that someone is recognizing it (we're pointing accusing looks at you, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences).

Author JK Rowling and producer David Heyman will receive the award on behalf of the franchise during the BAFTA ceremony on February 13. In anticipation of the presentation, we've decided to outline the reasons why we think the "Harry Potter" series more than deserves this award.

Every day that passes brings us one day closer to the November 19 release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" (only 17 days left!) and, more often than not, also brings some new clip or featurette from the film. The latest video, which -- shocker! -- arrived today, focuses on the story in "Part 1," and gives us some fun looks at the early moments of the film. Yes, we're talking about some new clips of the seven Potters and Death Eaters chase scenes, in addition to some great never-before-seen video of Bathilda Bagshot and the Snatchers.

But, since it's a featurette, we've also got some insights from stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, director David Yates, and producers David Heyman and David Barron (the Davids abound on the set of "Harry Potter").

"The stakes are a lot higher in this film than they probably ever have been before. Harry suspects that any day now something's going to happen. Either the Order's going to save him or the Death Eaters will be coming for him," Radcliffe says to set up the early atmosphere of the film. "I don't think Harry can quite let go of a sense of impending doom." Read More...

Although legendary film composer John Williams' original theme has lingered throughout the Harry Potter films, he hasn't scored a full installment since "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban." No one understands the weight that Williams' return might bring to the franchise's conclusion better than producer David Heyman. Even while admitting that considerable obstacles still stand in the way, Heyman wants Williams back on board for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."

"We have talked to John Williams and a lot of it will depend on his schedule for ['Harry Potter'] seven part two," Heyman told "Potter" fan site The Leaky Cauldron. "If we can make [it] work, and that's a big if, for his schedule and ours, then yes."

Williams' music has defined everything everything from the films' opening title sequences to Hedwig's first flight to the mood of Harry's first Quidditch match in "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." Convincing the composer to return would not only allow him to do the same for the series' climactic final events, but also give him the chance to bookend the franchise with his signature style.

With production already underway on the two "Deathly Hallows" films and the second chapter's release date set for 2011, coordinating schedules in time may be a long shot at this point. For now at least, we can all remain hopeful.

Would you like to see John Williams return to score "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"? Have the series' musical scores been poorer without him? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood PrinceThe Harry Potter movies are reaching their dark climax with "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" coming to theaters in July. The latest trailers and posters offered a brief glimpse of the maturing Hogwarts kids as Harry gradually becomes more aware of Voldemort's origins. Off-screen, however, David Yates and his crew are filming the final installment from J.K. Rowling's series, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" -- and that includes the epic's final epilogue, where the original cast members will appear older than ever.

"We will shoot it," producer David Heyman confirmed for MTV News. Rowling wrote a flash-forward ending to "The Deathly Hallows" that shows where the characters end up as they grow older. Heyman also indicated that the original Hogwarts actors would be filling those roles for the sequence, rather than being replaced by older lookalikes. Read More...
