When the red-band trailer for David Gordon Green's raunchy medieval romp "Your Highness" hit the Web in November, it was chock full of everything we'd hoped: anachronistic F-bombs, plenty of juvenile genitalia jokes and, in a most welcome turn of events, a lingering shot of Natalie Portman stripping down to a thong to bathe in a lake.

Now, the green-band trailer for the film has arrived, and it's a whole lot like the red-band trailer, but for two facts. First off, there are no F-bombs, which we totally understand. But it's the one other notable difference that isn't sitting so well with us: In the scene where Portman doffs all but her skivvies by the lake, viewers no longer get to bask in the glow of her full moon. Indeed, the thong Portman sported in the red-band clip has been replaced by a more modest pair of bikini briefs.

But before you get your panties in bunch over this injustice to good taste and, let's face it, all mankind, know this: Portman's rear will appear in all its thong-clad glory in the R-rated movie, just as nature intended it. The bikini briefs were simply added digitally to the trailer to ensure that the clip would be able to run for all audiences in theaters. Now that we got that out of the way, give the trailer a gander above. Read More...

New York Comic ConIt was wild times indeed this past weekend at New York's Javits Center, where fanboys and fangirls -- many of them dressed like Chewbaccas, Predators, Princess Leias, Super Marios and N'avi warriors -- showed up in droves of thousands to geek out about comics, movies, TV and anime at New York Comic Con 2010. I was there with the rest of the MTV News crew to enjoy it in all of it's costume-clad splendor... and to interview as many actors, directors and comics masterminds as possible.

In case you found yourself occupied by football or Division Series baseball, or just simply forgot to check MTV Movies Blog this weekend (for shame), here's a little recap of what you missed and what else we've got coming down the pike from NYCC 2010. Read More...

When David Gordon Green helmed the stoner black comedy "Pineapple Express" in 2008, it was kind of a drastic departure for a man known for serious drams such as "All the Real Girls" and "Snow Angels." But the violent, hilarious Seth Rogen-James Franco buddy flick was a huge hit, and one that has had fans screaming for a sequel for the past two years.

MTV News caught up with Gordon Green at New York Comic Con, and the friendly filmmaker was kind enough to share his thoughts on the potential plots of "Pineapple Express 2."

"The most interesting spin is to go in a 'Scarface' direction," Gordon Green chuckled. "You could get me back in the ring with [Seth Rogen and James Franco] any day of the week. I want to see them in the Miami coke scene, I think... or maybe take it in the 'Clear and Present Danger' direction and go to South America. You know, there's a few avenues that are maybe a little bit worthy of more than a barroom napkin scribble of an idea." Read More...

One of the most exciting new projects to surface amidst the many screenings and parties at Cannes Film Festival is "Splatter Sisters," a horror flick set to star Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood. I'm pretty stoked for it, especially with David Gordon Green and Edward Pressman ("The Crow," "American Psycho") producing. Adam Bhala Lough will direct, following up his stellar 2009 Lil Wayne documentary "The Carter."

As soon as I read about "Splatter Sisters," I wanted to know more. The original report mentions gore, exploitation and a desire to in some way evolve "Skinemax" film, similar to how Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez throw back to the '70s in "Grindhouse." So I put in a call to Pressman's office; not only was he more than happy to talk about "Splatter Sisters," he also connected me with Lough for an in-depth follow-up chat. Pressman's comments are after the jump; check back here tomorrow for a deep dive into Lough's twisted vision. Read More...

Just try to accept that Jonah Hill is this generation's Elizabeth Shue. I guess that should have him co-starring with Jaden Smith in this summer's "Karate Kid" redo. But that is not the case, nor is he likely to be splashing under waterfalls in the Caribbean with Taylor Lautner (today's Tom Cruise, I've been told) for a modern day "Cocktail." What Hill is doing is taking Shue's role in a semi-remake of "Adventures in Babysitting."

According to The Hollywood Reporter Hill will star as the title character in "The Sitter," an unofficial update of the 1987 comedy which gave the world its introduction to future "Rent" lead Anthony Rapp, a taste of what The Mighty Thor might look like on the big screen (as played by Vincent D'Onofrio) and the first of two Keith Coogan movies with babysitter-related titles. Oh, and it's the movie that inspired many drunken pleas for friends to stay out at the bar by utterance of the memorable line, "nobody leaves this place without singing the blues." Read More...

-- Filmmaker Charles Burnett is stepping up to direct a feature-length documentary about President Barack Obama's mother, Stanley Ann Dunham. The film, titled "Stanley Ann Dunham: A Most Generous Spirit" will not only track our president's childhood, but also Dunham's work in helping out developing countries. President Obama is currently "in talks" to be involved; my bet is that he will be. (The Hollywood Reporter)

Danny McBride. “Conan the Barbarian.” David Gordon Green. Natalie Portman. I can keep going. “Krull.” James Franco. “Deathstalker.” Am I just throwing stream-of-consciousness nonsense at the wall and seeing what sticks? Am I creating some wicked, half-fictional movie all-star team? Or am I listing the elements from a new project that has me pretty stoked?

Yes, new movie (called “Your Highness”), yes, stoked, and here’s why: the project brings together writers, actors, a director and ‘80s film reference points that have me thinking this flick is going to be a winner. When Danny McBride sat down with MTV News while promoting “Land of the Lost,” what he had to say about “Your Highness” only got me more pumped.

Natalie PortmanThe emphasis in that title is on the 'high' (or should be), a fact that should come as no surprise to fans of "Pineapple Express" director David Gordon Green. "Your Highness," his next gig, comes from a script by "Express" star Danny McBride and Ben Best. McBride, who appears in this week's summer comedy "Land of the Lost," will also star alongside James Franco and, as Variety revealed today, Natalie Portman.

In "Highness," McBride plays a lazy (pot-smoking?) prince who must work with his brother (Franco) to save the kingdom along with bro's bride-to-be. Portman joins the cast as a warrior princess and romantic interest for McBride. Green has already confirmed that "Highness" isn't exactly a full-blown stoner comedy, though McBride and Franco being in the mix certainly suggests that things will lean in such a direction.
