Although the first photo we saw of Johnny Depp in his "Dark Shadows" garb had us feeling a little skeptical, the second batch of pics that hit the Interwebs last week have us back to being over the moon excited for director Tim Burton's take on the 1970s vampire soap.

Even better, MTV News managed to get a few more "Shadows" details from Burton's other frequent movie-related collaborator, composer Danny Elfman, who revealed we can expect something "a little wild."

"It’s still very early, they’re not even done shooting. I just sent them some stuff so they can play with it while they’re editing," Elfman told us about his progress on "Shadows" at the premiere of "Real Steel," the score for which he also composed. "I think it’s just going to be fun. You can tell from Johnny Depp’s hairstyle right off the bat, it’s like, ‘Oh wow, that’s different.’ It’s [set in] the ‘70s, it’s going to be fun."

Harry HoudiniIn what could prove to be his best illusion yet, Harry Houdini has managed to recreate himself... four times!

That's the magic of the movies, at least, where for every one idea for a film there are at least three other potential projects. Fittingly, today, on what would have been the masterful illusionist's 137th birthday, Variety reports that "Water for Elephants" director Francis Lawrence is in talks to direct a biopic about the life of Houdini for Sony Pictures. That would make for, yes, the fourth Houdini-related project currently in development.

Find out more information about each of the different projects after the jump.

FROM SPLASH PAGE: Ever since their first collaboration on 1985's "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure," director Tim Burton and composer Danny Elfman have established themselves as one of Hollywood's most perfect pairings. This holiday season, Warner Bros. Records will commemorate their prolific partnership with the release of "The Danny Elfman & Tim Burton 25th Anniversary Music Box," a massive collection of the duo's 13 scores together, featuring more than 19 hours of music, an exclusive DVD, and a long list of rare audio, video and collectible material.

Later this week Splash Page will feature a rare interview with Elfman discussing his work on projects like 1990's "Batman," but Warner Bros. Records has also provided MTV News with an exclusive clip of Elfman and Burton reflecting on "The Nightmare Before Christmas," one of the many projects featured in the 25th Anniversary Music Box. In the clip, the award-winning composer explains why he identified so well with the film's skeletal hero.

"['Nightmare'] probably reminded me more of your days in clubs and the certain type of music you were doing," Burton told Elfman. "To me, that always seemed like the clearest thing to you in a way — something that was just inside of you for a long time." Terminator SalvationCast your expectations aside for the score to May’s “Terminator Salvation.” Danny Elfman has confirmed exclusively for MTV News that he will be composing the music for McG’s new post-nuclear-holocaust Terminator installment of the blockbuster franchise.

“I just started yesterday,” Elfman told MTV News from the red carpet of the Critics’ Choice Awards. The Academy Award nominated composer from films like “Good Will Hunting,” “The Corpse Bride” and “Batman” indicated that the original “Terminator” theme by composer Brad Fiedel was not in use yet; nor is there mandate to incorporate the classic symphonic hook.
