Curtis Jackson—a.k.a. the rapper known as 50 Cent—might not be known best for his acting ability, but he wants to change that. It's why he created his production company, Cheetah Vision Films, and made a deal with Lionsgate to create 10 films for them, one of which he premiered at Sundance in 2010. But while "Twelve" might not have received the recognition he would have liked, Jackson isn't giving up his dream of being an acknowledged actor and filmmaker.

"The first time I came here I was here as additional talent. Music. Now, to be here, to actually be a part of the filmmaking process, is great," Jackson said about his experience at Sundance.

Jackson's in Park City, Utah, this year to promote his production company, which still has four more films to make as part of their deal with Lionsgate, and it's likely that Jackson will try to bring one back next year as well. As for his transition into acting, Jackson said it's a constant work in progress. Read More...

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has been a steadily growing presence in Hollywood since his 2005 big screen debut, "Get Rich Or Die Tryin'." That first outing was a little rough, but he's since improved his game in "Righteous Kill," "Home of the Brave" and, most recently, the Sundance favorite "Twelve," which wider audiences will hopefully get to see later this year. Jackson is getting ready for his next feature now, and he'll be trading in the trademark Kevlar vest for bulkier shoulder pads and a team jersey.

The movie is "Things Fall Apart," which Jackson and partner Randall Emmett will produce through their Cheetah Vision Films label, Variety reports. The story follows a talented college football running back who "faces a personal tragedy as well as his own mortality" in his senior year. Jackson will take on the starring role; he also co-wrote the script with Brian Miller. Mario Van Peebles will direct. Read More...

50 CentEvery Joel Schumacher film starts as an uphill battle just by virtue of its director's shaky record -- but he'll have some help on this one from a very diverse cast, and a well-reviewed novel. According to Variety, Schumacher will be directing an adaptation of Nick McDonell's debut novel "Twelve," starring Kiefer Sutherland, Chace Crawford, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, Emma Roberts, and Ellen Barkin.

"Twelve" centers on a high school drop out named White Mike (who we're guessing is played by Crawford) who deals pot and an Ecstasy-like upper called "twelve" to Manhattan's young and rich. Mike avoids touching the stuff, preferring instead to observe the privileged individuals who buy it. But his easy profits go sour when his dealer's cousin is brutally murdered and his best friend is arrested for the crime. The story takes place over a dizzying and decadent five days, and ends as badly as all drug themed stories do. T-minus 24 hours until Robert DeNiro reunites on the big screen with Al Pacino in "Righteous Kill" (good luck with those comparisons to "Heat," gentlemen). Sure everyone's talking about the two headliners in this one but let's not forget about Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson who also appears in the flick. We chatted with 50 way back in January in Sundance about the film and he told us all about his extracurricular fun with DeNiro on a gun range. Of course we had to ask who the better shot was. And of course 50 answered as you might expect him to.
