Here's a pairing that comes wonderfully out of left field: Russell Brand could star in Diablo Cody's directorial debut "Lamb of God."
The news comes at us courtesy of Twitch, who learned that Brand has been offered the lead in the flick and that "Footloose" star Julianne Hough is the top choice to play the movie's leading lady. "Lamb of God" tells the story of a young conservative religious woman who loses her faith and decides to go to Vegas and "live the life of a sinner," but ends up finding her faith along the way.

"Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace" is getting the VIP treatment when it comes to its 3-D conversion.
The flick is due to be re-released in theaters on February 10, 2012 in a new 3-D print, and George Lucas isn't skimping when it comes to making sure the transition is done right. According to Deadline, Lucasfilm is teaming up with Prime Focus, the VFX company behind "Tron: Legacy's" 3-D components, to prepare "The Phantom Menace" for its theatrical re-release.
“It was incredibly important to me that we have the technology, the resources and the time to do this right,” Lucas said in a statement. “I’m very happy with the results I’ve been seeing.”
Take those 3-D glasses off and join us after the jump, where you'll find out what movie has Brian Cranston as its villain, how Craig Robinson is spending his hiatus from "The Office," and whether the long-anticipated "Fraggle Rock" movie is coming any time soon.

They fought for their right to party in hilarious movies like "Stepbrothers," "Pineapple Express," "School of Rock" and "Pedicab Confessions" (hey, it counts!). And now Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Seth Rogen, Danny McBride, Jack Blackand Elijah Wood are teaming up to star in "Fight For Your Right Revisited," a short film written and directed by Beastie Boy Adam "MCA" Yauch. The flick will premiere at Sundance in the spring. And we thought Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis were a comedy dream team!
A recently released still of the film shows Wood as Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz, Rogen as Mike "Mike D" Diamond and McBride as Yauch. No word yet on who Ferrell, Reilly and Black will be playing, but if this video is just a remake of the Beastie's original 1986 video for "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party)," then my vote's on Black as Ric Menello. Though the box office gross for "Hot Tub Time Machine" was eclipsed by "How To Train Your Dragon," I hope enough of you saw the movie to participate in a discussion of the ending. Don't worry, for those of you who haven't yet had a chance to see it, I won't spoil any details until after the jump. If you had written off "Hot Tub" as just another time travel comedy, I encourage you to check it out and come back here with your thoughts.
I wonder if some people avoided "Hot Tub" because it seemed less focused on the time travel/sci-fi elements than it was on the gross-out comedy elements. The science of time travel isn't fully explored in the movie, but the very broad moral issues and hypotheticals are addressed, mostly for comic effect (one gag in particular involving a squirrel humorously addresses the "butterfly effect"). The ending raises one of the issues I've had with certain time travel stories ever since "Back to the Future," a movie that "Hot Tub" references a whole heck of a lot. You've been warned... spoilers ahead! Read more...

I'll be honest, I went into my first screening of "Hot Tub Time Machine" with some trepidation, feeling somewhat underwhelmed by the trailers and a general sense of how many comedies try and fail. But I'm happy to say that it breezes through with flying colors, and is among the funniest movie-going experiences I've had in some time.
The film stars John Cusack, Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke as friends who enter a magical hot tub and are transported back to the 1980s. Getting the easy '80s jokes out of the way, the film sets into a cascading rhythm of funny moments, some gross-out humor, and most of all terrific performances which, at the end of the day, is the foundation this film is built on. I loved it, have seen it twice and would easily go a third time.
To promote the film, Corddry, Robinson and Duke sent on a nationwide "Tub Crawl," stopping in Alaska and New Orleans' festive Marti Gras. We've got an exclusive behind-the-scenes video of their travels, which you can watch below. "Hot Tub Time Machine" bows March 26.

Take four best buds, toss them in a hot tub for some male bonding and send them hurtling through time, back to 1986. That is the high concept pitch for "Hot Tub Time Machine," starring John Cusack, Craig Robinson, Rob Corddry and Clark Duke. There's a new trailer for it up on Yahoo! Movies, and it's quite funny. Check it out:

You probably remember Craig Robinson as the scene-stealing big guy from “The Office,” “Pineapple Express,” “Knocked Up” and so many other great comedies. You may soon know him as a star of the upcoming Will Ferrell-Mark Wahlberg comedy “The Other Guys.” And if you do, well…you’re welcome.
“I’m here in New York right now, we’re casting [‘The Other Guys’] and in pre-production,” Adam McKay, the man behind “Anchorman,” “Talladega Nights” and this week’s “The Goods” said when we spoke Wednesday evening. “It’s looking pretty cool; I’m excited about it.” Check out this sneak peek at "The Goods" and then hit the jump for more.

You can expect a lot of things from a versatile actor such as Kevin Spacey. One thing you cannot expect, apparently, is the expected.
Case in point: The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Kevin Spacey's self-produced ensemble comedy "Father of Invention" has enlisted four actors for the film, including Camilla Belle (that's normal), Heather Graham (we're still okay), Craig Robinson (wuh?) and... Johnny Knoxville?! Read more...
