GooniesTwenty-five years have passed, and we're happy to know that love for some of the best films of 1985 has stayed strong during that time. I of course am talking about "Back to the Future" and "The Goonies," both of which have been celebrated a lot in the past week. But while "Back to the Future" received two sequels, it is a bit surprising that "The Goonies" didn't get even one. But according to intel Collider got at the press day for "The Goonies" 25th Anniversary DVD, apparently a "Goonies" sequel was closer than any of us realized.

"There have been times up until five years ago where they actually had a script with well-renowned writers working on a great, magnificent script and it just didn’t happen," said star Corey Feldman. "There’s a lot of politics involved but the bottom line, like what Jeff [Cohen] said jokingly, but this is in all essences a treasure trove for Warner Bros. It's their classic family film of all time. So I think we would all be supportive in seeing it happen if there was the right script, if [Richard] Donner was at the helm and [Steven] Spielberg got behind it. Yeah, I'd be there." Read More...

When "Lost Boys: The Tribe," the sequel to Joel Schumacher's 1987 vampire cult hit "Lost Boys," didn't get its planned theatrical release back in 2008, it seemed like a stake had been driven directly into the heart of the potential franchise. But thanks to fans' unquenchable thirst for "The Tribe" on DVD, Corey Feldman is once again sporting his signature red headband as Edgar Frog, vampire hunter extraordinaire, in the appropriately titled "Lost Boys: The Thirst," now available on Blu-ray and DVD.

With his pal Sam (Corey Haim) dead and his brother Alan (Jamison Newlander) turned half vampire, a down-but-not-out Edgar joins forces with a new crop of hunters to take down the evil DJX, who's been building a bloodsucking army by dosing people with vampire blood at raves. But enough about the plot. You want to see the clips. The first is a nice little treat in which Edgar crosses swords and trades barbs with a scantily clad vamp named Lily, while the second features Corey Feldman interviewing... well, Corey Feldman. Check 'em out below.

Do these clips make you want to see "Lost Boys: The Thirst"? And do you think the franchise will enjoy a long, bloodsucking life in the straight-to-DVD market? Tell us in the comments!

FROM MTV.COM: The story of the two Coreys — Feldman and Haim, the latter of whom died at the age of 38 on Wednesday (March 10) — goes back a long way. Much farther than their canceled A&E reality series, "The Two Coreys," might have you believe.

The same-aged actors first met during their teen years when they were auditioning for what turned out to be notable early roles. Both read for "The Goonies" and "Lucas," with Feldman landing the former role and Haim the latter. But it wasn't until 1987 that the duo came together for Joel Schumacher's teen-vampire classic, "The Lost Boys."

As long-time blog readers know, we've been neck-deep in all things "Lost Boys" sequel since the very beginning. We revealed the plot, got sucked into a Corey feud, revealed Haim's potential movie absense (and Feldman's response), and most recently, premiered the film's trailer along with an extensive on-camera interview with Feldman.

So we were obviously excited to drop by the set of the music video for "Cry Little Sister," the iconic anthem from the classic film which Aiden frontman Wil Francis is remaking for the sequel. Check out the video below for a taste of what's in store, and then after the jump, read to hear his thoughts on Feldman, where the song plays in the film, and just where people who don't like the song can stick it (including original singer Gerard McMann).
