FROM MTV NEWS: Taylor Lautner is ready to abduct the title of Hollywood's resident action star when "Abduction" hits theaters September 23, but he didn't get there without a little inspiration from some of the genre's greatest actors.

When MTV caught up with the "Twilight Saga" star at San Diego Comic-Con this week, he revealed that he did more than admire the top action actors: He studied them. Considering "Abduction" is being described along the lines of the "Bourne" movies and "Minority Report," it makes sense that Tom Cruise and Matt Damon are among Lautner's biggest role models.

"I studied film with John Singleton while preparing for the movie, and I chose Tom Cruise, Matt Damon, Denzel Washington, Harrison Ford; we just went down the list," Lautner explained. "It would be an honor to have a tenth the career that those guys have."

You want to know when the next “Star Trek” will start shooting? Look out for paparazzi shots of co-star Zoe Saldana wearing some sweaty workout gear as she leaves the gym. Why? TronOur Comic-Con preview continues today with what is surely one of the most anticipated films of the San Diego gathering: Disney's updated take on 1982’s man-in-the-machine mind-frak "Tron." Quite a change from 2008’s "Tron" at Con brain-melting bombshell.

“Last year we had the benefit of surprise,” "Tron" producer Sean Bailey told MTV News. “We had some visual test stuff to show that no one knew we had [prepared], which is really fun to be able to surprise a crowd that is pretty much unsurprise-able.”

That visual test showed off a high-tech clip of a lightcycle race—a take on one of the many iconic scenes from the original film—and the crowd went wild. Cut to 2009: with the “Tron” shoot having wrapped in Vancouver just a week ago, the task for filmmakers is both the same and quite different: everyone is well aware of a new “Tron” and there’s not a ton of complete footage available to show off. There are many cool things about my job, but today I saw a rare convergence of three of them: The friends, the exclusives, and the access.

It occurred after weeks of watching the Facebook status updates by many of the wonderful Twilighters who’ve become my buddies over the last year-and-a-half, counting down the days to the March 21st release of the “Twilight” DVD. In the mail was a beta tape with exclusive featurettes - and one of those bonus features brought back great memories from the craziest fan-driven moment I’ve ever witnessed.

Yep, I was there at Comic-Con 2008 to witness “Twilight” taking over pop culture. Read More...

Arnold Schwarzenegger in 'Conan'Almost as soon as news of a fourth “Terminator” movie began to trickle out years ago, fans and haters alike started wondering if the original T-800 cyborg and current Governor of California would be joining in on the action. This weekend at New York Comic-Con, “Terminator Salvation” director McG gave his most pointed admission yet that Arnold Schwarzenegger will in fact be making an appearance in the film—but who knows what form that appearance may take.

“I don’t want today’s Arnold Schwarzenegger,” the director told a packed hall after screening a sizzle reel from the May 2009 release (McG also responded to the unearthed on-set Christian Bale tirade here). Referencing the original film, he said, “I want the idealized, Griffith Park, Bill Paxton, tire-track-on-the-face archetype and we’ll see what we can do about that.” Read More...

Okay, I'm going to be frank. The talent at New York Comic-Con this year isn't quite on par with last year. Still, we've been having a blast talking to top comic creators, actors, and filmmakers galore. And every so often an awesome familiar face shows up unexpectedly. For instance, this afternoon Stephen Baldwin dropped by our skybox overlooking the convention floor completely unannounced. He dropped off copies of his new comic, "The Remnant," and was gone in a flash.

I wasn't there at the time but when I came by the booth and heard he had just been there I hit the floor to talk to the man himself. Needless to say he was awesome. You'll see plenty of the interview soon enough so just calm down. For now enjoy the below photo.

The man doesn't need to say much to make his point, does he?
