TLautTaylor Lautner wasn't able to work with Gus Van Sant on "Breaking Dawn," so now he's created his own project for the director to helm.

MTV News reports that Lautner optioned a nonfiction article from The New Yorker, and has convinced Van Sant to direct it for him. "Milk" scribe Dustin Lance Black will pen the project, with Lautner in the lead role. Little more is known about the film, but it will be Lautner's first dramatic role to date.

Kurt RussellQuentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" is getting a bit of a casting make-over.

First up, Kurt Russell is reuniting with his "Death Proof" director in the upcoming film. He'll be replacing Kevin Costner as the psychotic Ace Woody, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Also reuniting with the director is "Kill Bill's" Laura Cayouette, who THR reports will be playing Leonardo DiCaprio's widowed sister.

In related news, THR has learned that Christoph Waltz injured his pelvis during training for "Django Unchained," and that's why he was unable to attend the New York premiere of "Carnage" on Friday.

There isn't much hedging about the fact that "Horrible Bosses" has its fair share of horrible bosses, but when MTV News chatted with two of the film's three leading men, we couldn't resist asking if they found anything redeeming about their onscreen higher-ups.

The overwhelming response: no. But Jason Bateman and Jason Sudeikis seemed to think that Jennifer Aniston had the best shot of being a generally good person. "If Charlie [Day] wasn’t such a bitch," that is.

He played the King of Macedonia in "Alexander," the super villain Bullseye in "Daredevil" and now he's Jerry Dandrige, the vampire next door in the upcoming remake of the 1985 cult horror hit "Fright Night." Colin Farrell stars as the anti-Edward Cullen, a menacing vampire who moves in next door to suspicious teenager and eventual nemesis Charley Brewster, played by Anton Yelchin.

MTV News caught up with Christopher Mintz-Plasse (who plays Yelchin's best friend in the movie, 'Evil' Ed Thompson) and director Craig Gillespie last night in Los Angeles as part of MTV Sneak Peak Week, and the pair said that Farrell's natural talents as both a comedic and dramatic actor made him the perfect choice to play Jerry.

"It's a very dark character, but he has a humor about him," explained Gillespie. "He's very sinister. Just trying to get somebody that can play that, walk that line [like] he had in 'In Bruges,' which he's so funny in, and then he's played the very dramatic stuff, so I just felt like he could really walk that tightrope."

If the cast didn't already convince you that "Horrible Bosses" is the film for you, its first trailer might.

Comic leads are Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day, which in and of itself is a giant step in the right direction ("Arrested Development" meets "Saturday Night Live" meets "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia"), but the supporting cast includes Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell, Jamie Foxx, Donald Sutherland, Julie Bowen and Isaiah Mustafa. As if that wasn't enough, the flick looks outright hilarious.

With vampire flicks all the rage these days, it was only a matter of time before someone did a remake of the 1985 horror-comedy flick "Fright Night." The movie, about a teenager who discovers that his next-door neighboor is a bloodsucker, has a huge cult following that even gathers once a year for a convention. So it should come as no surprise that a "Fright Night" redo has already been filmed and is set to hit theaters on August 19.

What might surprise you is that Colin Farrell has been tapped to play the aforementioned vampire, Jerry Dandrige, in the flick. And he's not the only familiar name you'll see in the credits: "Star Trek" actor Anton Yelchin is also aboard as the neighbor who discovers Farrell's secret, Christopher "McLovin" Mintz-Plasse plays vampire convert "Evil" Ed Thompsons, "Harry Potter" alum David Tennant is vamp-hunting actor Peter Vincent, and "Solitary Man" breakout Imogen Poots portrays love interest Amy, with Toni Collette and James Franco's brother David also popping up. When MTV News chatted with Farrell at the press day for the WWII drama "The Way Back," we talked with the star about how close the remake hews to the original... and why he took on the role.

"I mean, it's close enough in structure and story [to the original], but there are some things that have been changed," Farrell told us. "Peter Vincent's a lot younger, and what he does has kind of been put into a very contemporary setting. There are some changes." Read More...

When news broke in mid November that Colin Farrell was in negotiations to play the lead in a new version of the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger sci-fi epic "Total Recall," the casting call came as a bit of a surprise. After all, everything about the two actors -- from their line readings to their film choices to the size of their biceps -- is wildly different.

When MTV News sat down with Farrell at the press day for his new WWII drama "The Way Back," we were determined to get some clarification on whether he's officially all-in for the "Total Recall" reboot, as well as intel on just how different it will be from the Schwarzenegger-starring, Paul Verhoeven-directed version.

When asked if he's definitely doing "Recall," Farrell responded: "I hope so. I think so. Yeah, I think so. Maybe in May." That's not exactly a hard "yes," so will assume that he's still tying up a few loose ends on his deal, but is likely to start shooting with director Len Wiseman ("Underworld") in May. Read More...

Colin FarrellSince wiping away the memory of "Alexander" and "Miami Vice" with his Golden Globe-winning performance in 2008's "In Bruges," Colin Farrell has flown mostly under the radar, appearing in little-seen indies like Terry Gilliam's "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" and "Ondine." While the upcoming black comedy "Horrible Bosses" and the horror-comedy remake of "Fright Night" are definitely more high-profile, his career could definitely use a big-blockbuster starring role right about now. That's where "Total Recall" comes in.

Last month, we learned that Farrell was the top choice among a shortlist of actors including Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender for a remake of "Total Recall." Now, Variety is reporting that Columbia Pictures has offered Farrell the role, and they have been in negotiations ever since. It's not a confirmation that he's squared away for the part, but it's pretty darn close. Read More...

Colin FarrellLadies and gentlemen, suck in your bellies and try not to breathe in for a little while — we're going back to Mars, and Arnold Schwarzenegger is nowhere in sight.

According to Heat Vision, director Len Wiseman's "Total Recall" reboot is set to go before cameras in late March of next year with Neal Moritz and Original Film producing from a script written by Kurt Wimmer. But there's more to the story than a production start: according to the report, the three front runners to replace Schwarzenegger are Colin Farrell, Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender.

Farrell is considered the front runner, and it's not hard to understand why. Having just finished filming "Fright Night" and "Horrible Bosses," Farrell's schedule is considerably less packed than both Hardy and Fassbender's. Read More...

Colin FarrellTom Cruise isn't the only Hollywood icon willing to trade in his signature good looks for a receding hairline and a potbelly.

Colin Farrell makes his debut in the first behind-the-scenes photograph from "Horrible Bosses," director Seth Gordon's star-studded dark comedy about a group of employees conspiring to kill their titular horrible bosses. Farrell stars alongside a huge cast including Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, Kevin Spacey and Jamie Foxx, but if this one photo is any indicator, it's Farrell's veritable Les Grossman impression that's going to attract the most attention.
