The big movie news today is that "The Hangover" director Todd Phillips is developing a biopic chronicling the too-short life of comedian and actor John Belushi. The portly "Saturday Night Live" vet passed away in 1982, at the age of 33, the victim of a drug overdose. In spite of his abbreviated career, Belushi held starring roles in what many consider to be two of the greatest comedies in the history of film: "Blues Brothers" and "Animal House."

Now Phillips, as producer, and screenwriter Steven Conrad are set to bring the tragic story to the big screen. Success hinges entirely on the proper casting of the Belushi role. Some names are already being tossed around, but I've got a few suggestions of my own. Share your thoughts on these and any other likely candidates in the comments section after the jump. Though the box office gross for "Hot Tub Time Machine" was eclipsed by "How To Train Your Dragon," I hope enough of you saw the movie to participate in a discussion of the ending. Don't worry, for those of you who haven't yet had a chance to see it, I won't spoil any details until after the jump. If you had written off "Hot Tub" as just another time travel comedy, I encourage you to check it out and come back here with your thoughts.

I wonder if some people avoided "Hot Tub" because it seemed less focused on the time travel/sci-fi elements than it was on the gross-out comedy elements. The science of time travel isn't fully explored in the movie, but the very broad moral issues and hypotheticals are addressed, mostly for comic effect (one gag in particular involving a squirrel humorously addresses the "butterfly effect"). The ending raises one of the issues I've had with certain time travel stories ever since "Back to the Future," a movie that "Hot Tub" references a whole heck of a lot. You've been warned... spoilers ahead! Read More...

Take four best buds, toss them in a hot tub for some male bonding and send them hurtling through time, back to 1986. That is the high concept pitch for "Hot Tub Time Machine," starring John Cusack, Craig Robinson, Rob Corddry and Clark Duke. There's a new trailer for it up on Yahoo! Movies, and it's quite funny. Check it out:

For someone who should be on top of the world right now, Shia LaBeouf has sure had to endure a lot of slings and arrows thrown his way. Some of it, admittedly, is nobody’s fault but his own – getting arrested and driving drunk isn’t exactly model behavior, after all. Some of it, meanwhile, is a byproduct of being a Poochie-esque new face to otherwise kick-ass franchises, which the star now finds himself in the unenviable position of having to defend. (Swinging through vines, Shia? Really?)

Some of it, though, is just plain ridiculous. And ridiculously funny. Recently, “Sex Drive” stars Clark Duke and Seth Green and I engaged in some small talk before our interview proper began. Luckily for us, the cameras were rolling.

Ever wanted to make fun of Shia but didn’t know how? Watch the video below for about two minutes of ideas from the burgeoning comedy icons.
