For "Lost" fans, today is the day. The last time to gather 'round the water cooler and discuss the previous night's episode and the story's deeper implications. While the dialogue surrounding the latter will surely continue for some time, last night marked the final episode of "Lost." There will be no more.

Whatever you think of the show's quality, there's no denying that it was a powerful work of television, something that for whatever reason lodged itself in the public's consciousness. It was more than just a story-- it was a sensation. Now that it's over, you might be tempted to just turn the TV off and go outside.

Don't do it. There's still good television to be had. A lot of it is off the air now, or soon will be, as we ease into summer schedules. But that's fine. Anything that's already running, you're going to want to catch up on what you've not seen before diving in with any new episodes. Read More...

For all of the questions in the past over whether or not it would continue, "Chuck" is a great TV series. It follows an average gamer/geek named Chuck Bartowski who is inadvertently drawn into the shadowy world of global espionage when an series of events end with him having a CIA supercomputer stuck in his head. Best described as a drama/comedy, the show follows Bartowski as he attempts to juggle his personal life with the spy game, which has been an increasing presence in his life through three seasons.

I spoke last week with Ryan McPartlin, who plays Chuck's brother-in-law Devon -- aka Captain Awesome -- on the show. This season has been an interesting one for Devon, as he's the first in Chuck's circle of family and friends to learn of his secret other life. McPartlin is just about to wrap shooting on this third season. During our interview he refused to spill any of his fictional brother-in-law's secrets, but he did promise that something big will go down. Read More...

Title: "Chuck Versus First Class"

Story: Chuck gets his first solo assignment! The arrival of Special Agent Shaw (Brandon Routh) has stirred up some controversy among the ranks of Team Bartowski. Shaw thinks his Intersect 2.0-bearing asset will never evolve into a proper spy until he gets out on his own. Agents Walker and Casey disagree, but Shaw has them outranked and he makes it official: Chuck's going on his first solo mission. What starts as a trip to Paris turns into a nightmare confrontation with Ring agents (including Stone Cold Steve Austin, as Hugo Panzer) aboard an airplane. Balancing out the terror is a new lady wrinkle in Chuck's life: lovely newcomer Hannah (Kristin Kreuk). Read More...

Title: "Chuck Versus Operation Awesome"

Story: No time is wasted tonight in picking up on last week's cliffhanger. Chuck's (Zachary Levi) brother-in-law Devon (Ryan McPartlin) is in Ring hands -- specifically the beautiful and deadly Sydney (Angie Harmon) -- and they've got some plans for him: recruitment. Seeing a golden opportunity to bring down a Ring cell, General Beckman orders Team Bartowski to use poor Captain Awesome as bait. Things don't go off as planned of course, and Chuck is forced to take on the handler role for his marked bro. The team also gets a new commanding officer, in the form of the mysterious Shaw (Dean Cain). Read More...

Title: "Chuck Versus the Angel de la Muerte"

Story: The Buy More Nerd Herd is left behind in tonight's new episode of "Chuck" when Team Bartowski is assigned to protect a soon-to-reform a South American dictator (Armand Assante) from an assassin. They end up at an embassy cocktail party with Chuck's sister Ellie (Sarah Lancaster) and brother-in-law Devon (Ryan McPartlin) in tow. Devon, who knows Chuck's secret identity following the events of the previous season, wants to play the spy game too... only things don't quite work the way he'd hoped. Spoilers coming. Read More...

Title: "Chuck Versus the Pink Slip" / "Chuck Versus the Three Words"

Story: The last time we saw Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi), he kicked the crap out of a roomful of trained spies to the tune of an "Matrix" reference. Season three returns six months after that series-changing moment with... nothing new. Chuck is supposedly able to access the Intercept 2.0 at will now, but he's having some trouble with it when the story opens. He's also still hung up on his handler, agent Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski). The two-episode season premiere deals mostly with ironing out the previous season's plot threads. Hopefully paving the way for the shift in tone promised by Chuck's new abilities. Spoilers ahead. Read More...

In 2009, we tried something new here on MTV Movies Blog. There's an abundance of television programming these days built around season-long and multi-season story arcs. The small-screen viewing experience is different of course -- no event blockbusters, 3-D (well... once, on "Chuck," and it was meh) or anything like that -- but a well-told tale is a hard thing to ignore. That's why we started covering a few shows with recaps, interviews and the like.

Well the TV is looking pretty damn good in 2010, so we'll be back with even more coverage. To get ready, ace contributor Josh Wigler and I sat down to consider a few of the shows we'll be watching in the coming months, commenting on what we see in store for them... Read More...
