We knew the first theatrical trailer for Christopher Nolan's Batman finale would be a huge hit, but not 12.5 million huge! In the week after the trailer's massive debut, anticipation is still high for "The Dark Knight Rises." New high quality stills and renewed interest in an unused clip from "The Dark Knight" only added fuel to the rising fire. Here are the week's biggest Batman's stories so far.

"The Dark Knight Rises" provided a double dose of news yesterday. First and foremost is the report that Christopher Nolan is planning to shoot the ongoing Occupy Wall Street protests in New York City as part of his third and final Batman movie. It's said that he wouldn't be incorporating the actual Occupy Wall Street message into his film, but would be using the protests to enhance preexisting portions of the "Dark Knight Rises" story line.
Additionally, Batman veteran Cillian Murphy had to battle a tough line of questioning regarding whether or not he's returning as Jonathan "Scarecrow" Crane when "The Dark Knight Rises" rolls into town. The man didn't give up any spoilers, but it's not for lack of trying on his interviewers' parts.

"Blomkvist and Salander have an odd relationship." Daniel Craig seems to be putting the emotional core of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" a bit lightly in the excerpt from this month's Empire magazine cover story, but that relationship is exactly what the sexy photos released from the issue are highlighting.
From Craig's Blomkvist handcuffed to a chair, to Rooney Mara's Salander blowing cigarette smoke into his mouth, the newest images from the film are showing off director David Fincher's knack for sexy, sexy filmmaking. As if you had any doubts, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" is looking much closer to Fincher's work on "Fight Club" than on last year's "The Social Network."

Daniel Radcliffe is at a point in his life where, in our opinion, he can do just about anything he wants.
Fortunately, as the "Harry Potter" star already told us when he stopped by to chat about his new musical "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying," he's already pushing himself to try as many new and exciting things as he can without falling into any sort of "child star" trap. We definitely recognize and respect that motivation, and we're sure that's a sentiment echoed by many people in Hollywood.
So when DanRad started listing off his dream group of film directors and actors that he would love to work with, we didn't think those hopes actually coming to life was as unrealistic as he seemed to. After the jump, we go through the people Radcliffe said he'd love to work on a project with and then offer our suggestions as to some potential team-ups.

If there was still a small part of you that thought that Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt's casting in "The Dark Knight Rises" as some cruel joke, let those fears officially be put to rest.
Warner Bros. released a statement today announcing that Christopher Nolan's oft-rumored "Inception" collaborators are indeed a part of "The Dark Knight Rises," though not necessarily in the roles you'd expect. Cotillard will play Miranda Tate, a board member at Wayne Enterprises, and Gordon-Levitt has been tapped for John Blake, a Gotham City cop under Commissioner Gordon. Despite that, though, our friends over at Splash Page think Nolan might still be keeping some tricks up his sleeve. They think there's still a chance Cotillard could be playing Talia Al Ghul, and we're betting that there's more than meets the eye to JGL's cop as well.
After the jump, "Fast Six" gets a writer, "Red State" makes a profit, and finally some good news for "Gravity."

Ten years ago, Christopher Nolan was best known for his mind-bending thriller "Memento" and the similarly dark "Insomnia." In the time since, he's directed two extremely successful "Batman" films, cemented his reputation as a master of twists in "The Prestige" and literally received full reign from Warner Bros. in creating his dream film (pun intended), "Inception."
But 10 years after "The Aviator," will the world be ready for another of Nolan's pet projects -- another movie that's all about Howard Hughes?
Let's backtrack a little. In the early 2000s, Nolan had wanted to make a film called "Mr. Hughes" about the renowned aviator and billionaire, based on Michael Drosnin's biography "Citizen Hughes: The Power, the Money and the Madness." But around that same time, Martin Scorsese put his own Hughes film, "The Aviator," into production, and Nolan was forced to back off.
The film went on to be a resounding success and even won five Oscars, but that was seven years ago. Now that Nolan is seemingly on the top of the world (even if he still hasn't received a much-deserved Oscar nomination for his directing), sources inform Vulture that Nolan thinks it's about time to return to the project.

Today is a good day for the Nolan brothers. First up is Christopher Nolan, whose 2001 psychological thriller "Memento" is getting a rerelease in theaters to honor its 10th anniversary.
The Hollywood Reporter has the news that the Guy Pearce-starring flick will be in theaters again for one night only on February 17. The screenings will feature a recorded never-before-seen Q&A with Nolan talking to Guillermo Del Toro from a February 4 screening in Los Angeles.
Only 11 theaters in 11 cities will be showing the film: New York City, Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, San Diego, Washington DC, Toronto and Vancouver, with Seattle in the works as well. For full information on the screenings, check out the press release here.

It seems like one of the biggest qualms with this year's Oscar nominations was the omission of Christopher Nolan from the Best Director category. Sure, "Inception" landed eight Oscar nominations, but most of them were in the technical categories instead of the acting or directing categories.
That means that the two biggest nominations "Inception" is up for at this year's Oscars are for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay. It might be tough for "Inception" to win Best Picture with "The Social Network" and "The King's Speech" as the continued frontrunners, but now it doesn't seem as big of a long shot for the film to beat out "The Fighter" and "The Kids Are All Right" for Best Original Screenplay.
Over the weekend, the Writer's Guild of America honored Nolan with the Best Original Screenplay prize, which many critics believed to be a minor upset. So far, "Inception" has only won awards for its screenplay in smaller venues like the Online Film Critics Society Awards and regional awards ceremonies. At the Golden Globes, it was beat out of the Best Screenplay race by "The Social Network," who also won the WGA award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

With all of the early morning celebrating surely going on in Hollywood from folks like Javier Bardem ("Biutiful") and Michelle Williams ("Blue Valentine") after the Oscar nominations were announced, there are surely several other folks whose disappointment very likely sent them straight back to bed in their PJs.
Mila Kunis earned Best Supporting Actress nominations at the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards for "Black Swan," generally a great indicator in the race for Oscar gold, but was left in the cold today as the 2011 Academy Award Nominations were announced in Beverly Hills by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
