Everything sounds better with a French accent. That’s just a fact, and it’s something Movies Editor Josh Horowitz learned anew while chatting with Marion Cotillard about her upcoming Christopher Nolan film, “Inception.”
No matter that the Parisian actress wouldn’t give up the juicy inside facts—partly because she didn’t know, partly because declined to say—about the secretive film that we crave here at MTV News. No matter that all she’d tell us about the plot is that it’s “about the mind.” No matter that she teased Josh at one point, “You so want to have information—I can see you!”

"G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" star Joseph Gordon-Levitt took some time out of his busy schedule last week to speak with MTV's Josh Horowitz. The focus of the chat was the actor's next project, Spencer Susser's family drama "Hesher." Gordon-Levitt also spoke up a little bit on what he's doing after "Hesher," with "Batman Begins"/"The Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan. It was really more of a non-comment, but we'll take what we can get!
"Here's the thing," Gordon-Levitt told MTV. "I cant wait to talk to you about ["Inception"] but I've been very specifically asked not to talk about it. I want to respect [director Chris Nolan's wishes] because I love his movies and I'm so honored and grateful to be working with him." Very mysterious, eh? But wait! There's more! Read more...
Christopher Nolan has recruited another familiar face from Gotham City. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Batman Begins" actor Ken Watanabe will reunite with Christopher Nolan (and fellow "Begins" actor Cillian Murphy) for "Inception," Nolan's mysterious follow-up to "The Dark Knight."
He's not the only new castmember. Tom Hardy ("RocknRolla") has also signed on, joining Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Cillian Murphy, Ellen Page and Marion Cotillard. Not surprisingly, the plot still remains under wraps, but THR reveals that Watanabe will be playing the film's villain, a man who is attempting to blackmail DiCaprio. Hardy will be playing a member of DiCaprio's "team," which should put him together with grad student Page and Gordon-Levitt. Murphy's role is still unspecified. Read more...
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is already a successful young actor by any measure, but he's quickly on his way to becoming a household name. A role in a Christopher Nolan film can only help, and that's what the "G.I. Joe" star has landed. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gordon-Levitt has signed onto Nolan's top secret thriller, "Inception." The young up-and-comer has replaced James Franco, who dropped out of the running due to schedule conflicts.
The cast now includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy, and Gordon-Levitt. The plot still remains under lock and key, but it's been previously reported that DiCaprio plays "a CEO-type" and that Gordon-Levitt will play his associate. Page plays a grad student who is somehow the CEO's sidekick, and Cotillard plays DiCaprio's wife. Read more...
Cillian Murphy may not be the only "Batman Begins" cast member reuniting with director Christopher Nolan for his upcoming secrecy-shrouded movie "Inception." With Leonardo DiCaprio already locked for the lead role and Ellen Page, Marion Cotillard and Murphy also announced to star, Michael Caine could be the next big addition, with a final decision to be made as soon as later this week.
"I think there might be a part for me," Caine told MTV News. Caine appeared as Alfred Pennyworth in both "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight," as well as Nolan's Oscar-nominated film "The Prestige." Read more...
Though its plotline is still a tightly kept secret, Christopher Nolan's next film, "Inception," is coming together. Last month, we reported that Leonardo DiCaprio had come aboard to play the lead, and that Ellen Page was rumored to be the next to sign. The rumors were true and according to The Hollywood Reporter, Page is coming aboard, along with Cillian Murphy and Oscar winner Marion Cotillard. (Clearly, he had to have one familiar face among all the newcomers, even if it was the Scarecrow's!) Read more...
The world knows what Christopher Nolan's next movie isn't doing (i.e. returning to Gotham City) but no one knows just what it is. However, it's starting to take some shape with its casting, as according to The Hollywood Reporter, Leonardo DiCaprio is joining "Inception."
The film is now being described as "a contemporary sci-fi thriller set within the architecture of the mind." Nolan being Nolan, we all knew it would be something along the brain-bending lines of "Memento" and "The Prestige," so that description will have you looking for the story's twist before the film even begins rolling. FROM SPLASH PAGE: Bat-fans across the globe were treated to a bit of disappointing news last night, as The Hollywood Reporter broke the story that "The Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan's next project will be "Inception" -- an original screenplay written by Nolan and described as a "contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind." This all but pushes back a sequel to 2008's box office champ for at least the next few years, as Nolan reportedly plans to begin filming "Inception" this summer for a 2010 release.
While the report puts to rest months of speculation as to whether Nolan would jump back into the Bat-franchise or take on a different project post-"Dark Knight," it's the details surrounding Nolan's next venture that have left fans with even more questions than answers.

FROM SPLASH PAGE: Back from a big showing at Spike TV's Scream Awards, "The Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan recently shared some thoughts about the film with LA Times geek-beat blogger, Geoff Boucher. While Nolan didn't let slip any big news about future Batman films, he did offer up some thoughts on making a third movie -- and the dilemma of the third-film curse.
"Is there a story that’s going to keep me emotionally invested for the couple of years that it will take to make another one? That’s the overriding question," said Nolan. "On a more superficial level, I have to ask the question: How many good third movies in a franchise can people name?"

FROM SPLASH PAGE: Rumors continue to swirl around the already highly-anticipated follow-up to "The Dark Knight": some have already been debunked, while others are only starting to heat up -- namely that of who will be playing the Riddler (that is, if the Riddler even is a villain in the next film). While Johnny Depp has been the most talked-about actor whenever the role comes up, he isn't the only actor who'd be interested in reading for the part.
In a recent sit down with MTV News, Guy Pearce (long mentioned as a potential candidate due to his relationship with the "Momento" helmer) stated to us that he'd be interested in taking a look at the role (or any role in the film) so long as Christopher Nolan was still on board as director.
