FROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: Welcome back to Dress Like A Movie Star Week here on Hollywood Crush. We're continuing to bring you Halloween costume ideas inspired by some of the most outrageous, colorful and downright awesome characters on the big screen in 2009. We know your wallets aren't exactly being filled by a money tree in your backyards these days, so we're going to try our darnedest to keep these costume ideas easy to create and easy on your bank account! Let the trick and treating begin!

We were green with envy when Rachel Nichols got to have a quick romp with the out-of-this-world hottie Chris Pine in this summer’s mega-hit "Star Trek." So, while Spock (Zachary Quinto) and Nyota (Zoe Saldana) may have been the intergalactic couple to make it work despite some interplanetary meanies trying to come between them, we think bad boy Capt. James Kirk (Chris) and Star Fleet cadet Gailia (Rachel) will make for far more interesting, not to mention eye-catching, couples costume (or solo, we don’t judge!) this Halloween.

We're not going to have you recreate your own Vulcan (though, hats off to you if you can pull that off!), but we so have some helpful hints (after the jump) to best capture the look of Kirk and Gailia. We’ve tried to make them as budget-friendly as possible (heck, times are probably tough on the USS Enterprise) and cool enough that you’ll (live long and) prosper this October 31st.

"Star Trek" star Chris Pine appears to have lined up another new job this week, in addition to nailing down a starring role in D.J Caruso's "The Art of Making Money." Pine has already reshaped William Shatner's role as James T. Kirk in the "Star Trek" franchise. Now it looks like he'll be stepping into the shoes previously worn by Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck as Tom Clancy's hard-nosed CIA analyst Jack Ryan. Pine's name floated out as the potential leading man to revamp Clancy's novels, such as "Patriot Games" and "The Sum of All Fears" for new releases, and Paramount has now confirmed his status as their pick.

"Tom Clancy created an unforgettable character with Jack Ryan," Paramount Film Group president Adam Goodman said in a statement, according to Variety. "With Chris in this role, we've taken our first step in creating a re-boot that lives up to the successful lineage of the franchise." Read more...

James Tiberius Kirk already cheated his way to victory in the Kobayashi Maru test, and now he's putting his fast-thinking talents towards making money — well, his real life persona is, at least.

According to Variety, "Star Trek" actor Chris Pine is teaming up with "Eagle Eye" director D.J. Caruso for "The Art of Making Money," an adaptation of reporter Jason Kersten's fact-based novel "The Art of Making Money: The Story of a Master Counterfeiter." Frank Baldwin — no apparent relation to Alec, Daniel, William and Stephen — is writing the script.

The title refers not just to the creative component of moneymaking, but also to the story's central figure of Art Williams Jr., presumably played by Pine. The novel focuses on the real-life counterfeiter who conjured millions of dollars in false bills thanks to his amazing attention to artistic detail. Read more...

-- Rosario Dawson has joined the cast of Tony Scott's "Unstoppable," joining Denzel Washington and Chris Pine. The story of an out-of-control train loaded with toxic chemicals is currently set for a Fall 2010 release. Also, Heather Graham will star in Harold Becker's "Vengeance: A Love Story." Denzel WashingtonIt seems that not even movies are safe in our troubled economic times. We saw Sony let the air out of "Moneyball" days before it was to start filming. Now Fox has put the brakes on "Unstoppable," Tony Scott's directorial follow-up to "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3."

The studio was leery of the film's big action-heavy budget, and The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Scott, Denzel Washington, and Chris Pine had not yet signed to the film. All three were simply operating under the assumption that they'd be shooting in the fall. Now, Variety reports that Washington has formally left the project, and is looking for another film to fill his fall schedule. Read more...

FROM MTV.COM: Both Denzel Washington and Chris Pine presented Golden Popcorn statues at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, and if all goes according to plan, the two actors will be working much more closely together in the fall. MTV News has learned exclusively that Pine has signed on to Denzel's upcoming thriller based on a true story, "Unstoppable."

"I'm going to shoot a movie in the fall called 'Unstoppable' — me and Tony Scott — and Chris Pine's going to do it with us," Washington revealed backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre. "I hope I'm not speaking out of line. I think they made a deal with him, and I'm supposed to meet him next week."

'Star Trek' gets its own line of fragrancesNow you have a ready-made response for anyone who tells you that J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" reboot stinks. As the film's tie-in marketing blitz continues to assault us from all angles, expect things to get a whole lot weirder. Take today's revelation that online retailer Genki Wear is launching a line of "Trek"-themed fragrances.

You read that right. "Trek" fragrances. One perfume, two colognes. Pon Farr, for the ladies, takes its name from a physiological condition which is essentially the Vulcon equivalent of "going into heat." It's a bit more serious for Vulcans, as they either mate or die, but we expect that the perfume is more harmless than that. Read more...

CommonI pity the fool who doesn’t think that Common would bring the badass back to B.A. Baracus in Joe Carnahan’s upcoming big-screen adaptation of “The A-Team.” The guy is big and intimidating, a startlingly effective screen presence, and he harnesses the sort of inner teddy bear quality that made Mr. T such a fan favorite for kids all those years ago.

Over the weekend, the “Terminator Salvation” star confirmed to us that the buzz is indeed building, and that he may someday slip behind the driver’s wheel of that famous black-and-red van. “Yeah, I’ve been hearing that, man,” said the actor/rapper. “I’ve been hearing that.” Read more...

FROM MTV.COM:

Until this weekend, not many among the moviegoing public knew the name Chris Pine, unless you happened to be a fan of films like "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement" or the Lindsay Lohan rom-com clunker "Just My Luck." But his turn as young James T. Kirk in J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" reboot looks to be a star-making move.

And it's not just audiences and critics who are raving about Pine's Kirk and favorably comparing his portrayal to that of original Kirk William Shatner; Hollywood is taking notice too. Count director Kevin Smith among Pine's growing legion of fans.

J.J. Abrams' fresh take on "Star Trek" is looking like it's gonna be huge, taking in as much as $75 million at the box office through the weekend. The film features a whole new cast of predominantly little-known actors taking over the iconic roles of James T. Kirk, Spock and the rest of the Enterprise crew. So which of these up-and-comers will be the movie's breakout star? Who will everyone be talking about on Monday? Will it be Chris Pine as the young and cocky Kirk? Maybe "Heroes" villain and brand-new Spock Zachary Quinto? Perhaps Zoe Saldana’s sultry Uhura, Anton Yelchin’s navigator Chekov, Karl Urban’s doc Bones, or Simon Pegg’s beam-me-up engineer Scotty.

A case can be made for any of them. But MTV News wanted to know what you had to say, so we sent our own Tim Kash into the heart of Times Square to get your take on who will be "Trek"'s breakout star.
