Olivia Wilde"Super 8" is finally in theaters, and if you've been following along with the MTV Movies Blog gang, you know we loved it. We're not the only ones; several celebs in the Twitter-Wood sphere have already expressed their enthusiasm, and more positive reviews came storming in today.

There's also an outpouring of support for "Lost" creator Damon Lindelof's new multimedia science fiction project for Disney, "1952," though Lindelof himself wants to clarify exactly what that "seven figure deal" entails. Plus, Weiner-gate ridicule continues, Olivia Wilde strips down (sort of) and Jonah Hill squares off against Kanye West in an epic battle of Connect Four.

I'm @roundhoward and this is Twitter-Wood for June 10, 2011.

Real SteelWhat do we think of "Real Steel?" It's a hard question to answer without having actually seen the movie. But when the film was first announced, a lot of people scoffed at the idea of Hugh Jackman and Shawn Levy pursuing a so-called "robot boxing movie." Yet both parties have strongly stated that the film is more than that, and based on the footage we've seen so far, we're inclined to agree.

What's more, it seems that Jackman and Levy had such a positive experience on "Real Steel" that they're looking for a repeat performance. No, not a sequel — not yet, at least — but the Australian actor and the "Night at the Museum" director are teaming up to get "Lost" with a new untitled action adventure pitch.

John StamosSooner or later, Fridays are going to require an all-image spinoff column if Twitter-Wood keeps up its current weekly output. Not only did Carlton Cuse get a rare shot of Bill Murray in the wild; a "Twilight" actor expressed fears that he looks too much like Will Smith, and John Stamos snuck another shot off of the "Glee" set.

In addition to Edgar Wright's reaction to "Paranormal Activity 2" today, you'll also find a confession from someone who impersonated Tom Hanks during the "Night of Too Many Stars" fundraiser last night and a "Jackass 3D" micro-review from Eli Roth. If that's still not enough for you, Jerry Bruckheimer revealed another few actors appearing in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."

I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is Twitter-Wood for October 22, 2010. Read More...

Most "Lost" fans know by now that tonight's penultimate episode in the series was screened during an event held at UCLA last week. What you might not have heard was ABC Studios executive Barry Jossen had the privilege of reading a letter addressed to series creators Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof from none other than George Lucas, the man responsible for bringing "Star Wars" into the world.

The note is basically Lucas congratulating the "Lost" creators on bringing the show home after six question-filled, often fan-dividing seasons. As the architect of all things "Star Wars," from the classic original films through the questionable Special Edition touch-ups and on into the high Midichlorian counts of the Prequel Trilogy, Lucas knows a thing or two about fans who aren't always supportive, giving his brief note an added layer of amusing subtext. Read for yourself after the jump. Read More...

In just a few short weeks, "Lost" will be over for good. As creators Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof prepare to provide all of the answers that fans are ever going to get, they've obviously been having lots of meetings. In the video below we get a glimpse into one of those final season meets, rudely interrupted by an unauthorized Muppet-led tour of the "Lost" offices.

This is the video I referred to earlier in the week. It's great. My favorite part is when Rizzo the Rat mistakes Lindelof for comedian and "Arrested Development" star David Cross.

Lost-- Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse won't explain the ending of "Lost" after it airs. Lindelof says: "We're going to be as definitive as we can be and say this is our ending, but there's no way to end the show where the fans aren't going to say, 'What did they mean by this?' Which is why we're not going to explain it." [The Live Feed]

-- It is necessary for Shia LaBeouf to die in "The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman," his upcoming "romantic actioner" about a man who falls in love with an irresistible but potentially lethal woman. [Collider]

"Lost" has ended.

Wait, let me rephrase that. The filming of "Lost" has ended. Last week, executive producers and co-showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse confirmed that the series finale has wrapped filming, meaning that each and every actor's work on the series is over. Pretty soon — as in less than a month soon — every aspect of "Lost" will be over. It's pretty surreal, isn't it?

We still have a few episodes to go before total "Lost" withdrawal, but sadly, there was no new episode to satisfy our cravings last night. Thankfully, Wired recently posted a photo of Lindelof and Cuse in the official "Lost" writer's room that provides plenty of intriguing (and potentially spoilery) easter eggs worth salivating over. You can check out some of the details I noticed after the jump. Read More...

April Fool's Day always has a way of blurring real life with nightmare scenarios and news that is too awesome to be true. I'm going to leave it to you, however, to decide which category Dane Cook's performance at the White House falls into in today's rundown of ridiculous and ridiculously cool posts from the Twitter-Wood feed.

Below, you will find Jessica Simpson's new career aspiration, as well as Kevin Smith's vow to leave Twitter and Simon Pegg's connection to Justin Bieber's popularity. Check out the following celebrity retweets for yourself, and tell us in the comment section whether you buy what they're selling or not. I will say this, though: If the "Entourage" Season 7 pic at the top turns out to be phony, some heads somewhere are going to roll. Read More...

In case you haven't been paying attention to the blog for the past week -- or the chatter around the water coolers -- the sixth and final season of "Lost" premiered last night. The two-part kickoff was thoroughly entertaining from a "Lost" fan's perspective. Some big, BIG answers emerged, and a whole crop of new questions along with them. I wouldn't expect anything less.

As the series finale creeps closer, creators Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof are forced to look ahead, to what comes next. Even if they aren't actively thinking about it, there's an industry full of entertainment journalists who are. The duo isn't say much however, maintaining their commitment to get the series tied up before considering any next steps. Read More...
