Cannes really brings out the best in people. For the past few years, either Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie or both have had high-profile premieres at the film festival, which then becomes the event at Cannes. The couple radiate glamor and grace in a way that no one else does, celeb couple or otherwise, and this year the "Inglorious Basterds" premiere was no different.

At the film premiere, the reigning king and queen of Cannes did not disappoint the hundreds of photographers clamoring to take their picture. Easygoing and poised, the couple looked smashing. Brad wore a traditional bow tie tuxedo, while Angelina chose a pale pink draped dress and bright red lipstick. The lineup for this year’s Cannes Film Festival has officially been announced, and it’s being noted for the amount of big-name filmmakers selected for its Competition program. Variety calls it “Cannes' biggest heavyweight auteur smackdown in recent years,”while other websites are criticizing the shortage of both new talent and American titles. Regarding the latter lack, though, Quentin Tarantino’s debut of “Inglourious Basterds” (previously reported to be premiering at the fest) should make enough noise for the U.S. to overshadow its strictly European and Asian competitors.
