I don't know a whole lot about "Wichita." James Mangold is directing a powerhouse leading man and lady in stars Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. The story involves a woman (Diaz) who is inadvertently pulled into a global plot while out on a blind date with a man (Cruise) who turns out to be a government agent.
None of that really matters for the purposes of this post though. That image below comes from the set of "Wichita," which is currently shooting in Boston. There are more for you to enjoy. Click the image below to check out our newly added "Wichita" set photos.
-- The Sundance Film Festival will add the Next section for next year's gathering. The category will showcase six to eight films which make "innovative and original" use of low-/no-budget features. I wonder if "District 9" would have made the cut. (Variety)
-- Buried in a report on the upcoming lineup for Dino De Laurentiis Co., it was revealed that an adaptation of Karen Russell's novel "St. Lucy's Home For Girls Raised By Wolves" is in the works. The story follows a group of girls raised by werewolves as they are being prepared to interact with civilized society. (Variety) Read more...

In the below video, Cameron Diaz and "X-Men" star James Marsden ponder the dilemma that is central to Richard Kelly's upcoming "The Box," which they both star in. The movie asks its star couple to consider the question: if they could immediately become wealthy by pushing a single button, at the cost of another human being's life, would they do it? It's a question with no simple answer, and one that Diaz and Marsden face as Norma and Arthur Lewis.

Remember the "Charlie's Angels" movies? Directed by McG? Starring Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz? No? Could be because it's been more than half a decade since the second movie in the series, 2003's "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle." It wasn't half-bad either, especially if you're into the whole "grrl power" blockbuster vibe.
So where has the series gone? "Full Throttle" didn't review so well, but the worldwide gross of $259 million more than doubled its $120 million budget. You'd think that with three hot leading ladies, a veteran blockbuster director and lots more money to be made, a third "Charlie's Angels" would be a foregone conclusion. Too bad the trio of "Angels" stars have a work ethic that "sucks." At least according to Cameron Diaz, who spoke with MTV on the series at San Diego Comic-Con.
The movies team working on location at San Diego Comic-Con this year did a kickass job. They flat-out crushed it. In addition to all of the coverage we've been rolling out since last Wednesday, there are literally boxes of tape just waiting to be digitized and served direct to your waiting eyeballs.
Since the onslaught has really only just begun (seriously, you have no idea), I figure now might be a good time to remind you of a few delectable video nuggets that you may have missed. I hadn't even seen some of these until yesterday. SDCC is a big show and the amount of coverage we have from it is almost overwhelming. So peep these vids before the next giant load rolls through. Pooped is the word of the day for everyone still walking around the San Diego Comic-Con. Still, the MTV News gang had a blast here and we hope you've been digging our coverage. We've cranked out nearly 50 video segments here and the amazing thing is it's truly just the tip of the iceberg. Stay tuned this week and in the weeks ahead for extensive interviews we banked here with James Cameron, Peter Jackson, Terry Gilliam, Tim Burton, Megan Fox, and literally dozens more.
In the meantime as we pack up our bags here I thought I'd share with you my favorite five interview moments. Again, these are just a sampling of what went down here but I think they're a fair representation of all the fun we all had in sharing our Comic-Con experience.
First off, anytime you're talking to the likes of Megan Fox it's always a pleasant surprise when A) JELL-O wrestling is mentioned and B) it wasn't mentioned by you.

At last, the wait is over. After acquiring several intriguing projects, and spending millions of dollars to rewrite them into perfection, Tom Cruise has decided on his next movie -- and it's "Wichita."
According to Variety, Cruise has decided to pair up with Cameron Diaz for James Mangold's action comedy. Not only does this end Cruise's quest for his next project (and apparently it was a close call between this and Len Wiseman's "Motorcade"), but it's also a happy ending for the troubled "Wichita," a film that has seen directors and stars come and go. Zack Braff has absolute power in the land of the "Swingles." According to Variety, Braff will direct the romantic comedy, which will be his first feature since 2004's "Garden State." The project already boasts leading lady Cameron Diaz, but Braff isn't content with merely directing her. He will also be co-starring and rewriting the film.
"Swingles" centers on a bachelor who is dumped by his wingman. Having studied his "Top Gun," the bachelor knows that he can't fly solo, and he decides that his next pickup companion will be a wingwoman. Sounds like a plan, right? Not so fast. The new winglady is a "sharp-tongued" sort, and our bachelor can't stand her. Of course we all know where this is probably going: loathing turns into love and things wrap up with a little "happily ever after." Hey, that's how "Top Gun" ends things between Iceman and Maverick, too! Read more...

Cameron Diaz isn't sitting around bored while she waits for Tom Cruise to rewrite their potential romantic comedy, "Wichita." She's readying her next role as a legal eagle in Warner Bros' legal comedy, "Bobbie Sue."
According to Variety, Diaz will play a "hard-charging ambulance chaser" whose casual attitude towards those pesky things known as "legal ethics" led to her being recruited by a prestigious law firm. They want her to help out one of their powerful clients who is being sued for sexual discrimination. Obviously, he is as guilty and sleazy as they come, and none of the classy lawyers want to touch him, making it a perfect case for the lawless Bobbie Sue. Read more...
