MTV's Josh Horowitz has been floating around show business for a while, but that doesn't mean he's got this interviewing thing totally under control.
Or, at least that's what he wants us to believe in the latest MTV Movie Awards edition of After Hours, in which Josh performs a series of interview faux pas with a variety of our favorite movie stars from Danny McBride to Olivia Wilde, and it doesn't end up so well for him. Future interviewers, a word to the wise: Cameron Diaz doesn't like your butt in her face and Keanu Reeves could do without you suggesting he change his name.

Here's a sure sign the MTV Movie Awards are just around the corner: the celebrity seating cards are in place!
That's right, we have the scoop on where everyone from Robert Pattinson to Nicki Minaj is sitting!
The "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" cast is representing the upcoming flick, with Shia LaBeouf and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley sitting front and center next to each other. Costar Patrick Dempsey is rounding out the trio sitting the row behind them for some emotional support. Read more...

We always knew that a reunion between former flames Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake would be fiery, but we didn't realize it'd be filthy to boot. But that's the situation we're facing in "Bad Teacher," the hard-R comedy hitting theaters on June 24.
You don't need to look any further than the "Bad Teacher" red-band trailer to know that this one has all the makings of a raunchy, instantly quotable summer comedy classic... but if you are in need of extra convincing, for whatever reason, you could do worse than gaze upon our exclusive "Bad Teacher" photo courtesy of MTV's continuing Summer Movie Preview week.

For any of those Justin Timberlake skeptics that are still left out there (in which case...hide your shame!) his performance in the upcoming and very R-rated comedy "Bad Teacher" is about to prove them wrong. In fact, no one is more certain of his talents than his co-star in the film (and his ex) Cameron Diaz.
During a chat with MTV News, Diaz, who joked she'd seen Timberlake's work prior to this movie, said of the singer-turned-actor's versatility, "I don't think Justin Timberlake is a hidden treasure of comedy any longer. I think he sort of burst that bubble a long time ago on 'SNL.'"

When news broke that a "Gambit" remake was in the works, I could almost feel the collective brows raising among the legions of classic film aficionados.
Granted, said remake has Joel and Ethan Coen behind the script, fresh off their biggest box office success ever with "True Grit," as well as recent Oscar-winner Colin Firth playing Harry Tristan Dean, the role established by treasured thespian Michael Caine. But then came word that Cameron Diaz is playing Nicole Chang, a role that Shirley MacLaine made famous in the 1966 original. Diaz isn't the most obvious successor to MacLaine, sure, but maybe she doesn't need to be.
When I caught up with Diaz recently as she was rushing into the Vanity Fair Oscar party on Sunday, I asked her how prep was going on the film. Our exchange was brief, but she assured me that the "Gambit" remake is very much its own entity -- in other words, don't expect her to channel Shirley MacLaine for her upcoming performance.

Is Cameron Diaz the new Billy Bob Thornton? From the looks of things in the just-released red band trailer for the upcoming comedy "Bad Teacher," Diaz has taken a cue from Thornton's seriously dark comedy classic "Bad Santa" by putting a foul-mouthed adult around impressionable youth.
"Bad Teacher," due in theaters on June 24, is about a disgruntled teacher/arguable sociopath named Elizabeth (Diaz) who, while not smoking "medicinal" marijuana in the parking lot, passing off the advances of the school's gym teacher (Jason Segel) and grading papers ("Are you f***ing kidding me?" she writes on a student's exam), sets her sights on finding a man to take care of her.
Enter Justin Timberlake, who plays Scott, the new sub Diaz intends on nabbing for herself. After discovering Scott has a penchant for, er, top heavy females, Elizabeth aims to win a bonus for having the highest-scoring class in order to pay for breast implants. The ridiculously unsafe for work trailer is past the jump!
You can say this about a lot of the people working in Hollywood, but for Shirley MacLaine, it's absolutely true: the woman is one of a kind. That's not meant in a backhanded way, either; she's one of the true greats, an iconic face in the industry that can't ever be fully replaced.
That's exactly why it's going to be a tricky prospect for any actress looking to reclaim one of MacLaine's most beloved roles, such as her turn as Nicole Chang in the 1966 film "Gambit."
A remake of the heist picture has been in the works for some time now, with Colin Firth set to take over Michael Caine's role of confidence man Harry Tristan Dean, "True Grit" masterminds Joel and Ethan Coen behind the script and and "The Last Station" director Michael Hoffman behind the lens. And now, we have an actress to take on Nicole Chang. It's Cameron Diaz. Read more...

I think we can all agree that Tom Cruise has had a bit of a PR problem in recent years. There's no need to rehash the details. There's a world wide web of information out there for you to look it up on your own. I'll admit too, I was one of the people who veered away from him after the... unpleasantness. I love "Top Gun," "Risky Business," the "Mission: Impossible" movies, "The Firm"... any number of his films. But it was time for a break.
Now we have "Knight and Day," an action-comedy that's out this week starring Cruise and Cameron Diaz as an unlikely spy duo. Really, Cruise is the spy and Diaz is the sweet, blissfully ignorant woman who is inadvertently drawn into a high-stakes world. I saw the movie late last week and I have to say... I really, really enjoyed it. Cruise and Diaz have good chemistry together, the writing is reasonably strong, the story is popcorn fun and the action is well-choreographed. All of these elements combine into a strong summer blockbuster, one that you'd all not be wasting your money to see.
Between this and the Les Grossman antics at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, Cruise seems to be getting himself back out there. And you know what? I'm perfectly okay with that. Read more...

Director Richard Kelly's had a wild ride in Hollywood. His debut film "Donnie Darko" didn't survive long at the box office, but found renewed life and hordes of fans after its release on DVD. The high-concept Jake Gyllenhaal-led pic was breathtakingly original, a dark sci-fi thriller that brought together tangent universes and an evil-looking man in a rabbit costume. But for Kelly, the true measure of his career would be whether the freshman filmmaker could follow up "Darko" with something just as clever and unique.
Five years later we got "Southland Tales," an ambitious, pre-apocalyptic, musical-tinged film narrated by Justin Timberlake and starring everyone from Dwayne Johnson to Mandy Moore. While it opened to dour critical reviews, it showed there was nonetheless still promise buried within the then-32-year-old Kelly. So what would come next? Our answer came with "The Box," Kelly's most mainstream project to date and an expansion of a short story by "I Am Legend" author Richard Matheson. Starring James Marsden and Cameron Diaz, the film begs the question: Would you take a million dollars in return for pressing a button that will kill someone you've never met? Read more...

Cameron Diaz can do sweet romantic comedies like "The Holiday" and tearjerker dramas like "My Sister's Keeper" and even the occasional period piece like "Gangs of New York," but her true calling has always been raunchy comedy. Now, to add to her gross-out work in "There's Something About Mary" and "The Sweetest Thing," the actress will star in Columbia Pictures' "Bad Teacher," according to Variety.
Jake Kasdan, who last gave us "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story," is directing the comedy, about a "foulmouthed, gold-digging middle-school teacher," who battles with another faculty member for dibs on a hot co-worker. The idea of a fought-over "model teacher" makes me imagine "Glee" star Matthew Morrison as the male lead, but that will never happen. Read more...
