Spider-Man: Turn Off the DarkAccidents abounded today as news of a mishap at the Broadway musical "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" spread and winter weather caused some mayhem. Tom Felton, for instance, has been having a bad run of driving luck, but it does sound like he's okay.

Yesterday marked a sad anniversary, too, as Rose McGowan noted that it's been one year since Brittany Murphy's death. Her thoughts, as well as a shot of one of our favorite "Twilight" series actresses lending a hand at a Phoenix food bank, have been retweeted after the jump.

FROM MTV.COM: Brittany Murphy may be best remembered as one of cinema's most memorable makeovers, going from frumpy to fabulous as Tai Fraiser in "Clueless," but her turn alongside Eminem in "8 Mile" was something entirely different: a chance to play the love interest of one of the biggest stars on the planet in a film that grossed a ton of money and became one of 2002's cultural touchstones.

The role of Alex, an aspiring model hanging out in Detroit's shady back alleys, garnered Murphy some of the finest reviews of her career. In a 2006 interview with MTV News, the actress, who died on Sunday at the age of 32, looked back at the experience and how it combined two of her great loves — acting and music.

Call them "cult classics." "Guilty pleasures." "Comfort movies." We all have a mental rolodex of flicks that may not be terribly popular but, for one reason or another, they resonate in a very special way. Maybe you saw it at the right moment. Maybe you just see gold where everyone else sees feces. Whatever the case, these are the special favorites that you keep stashed away for sick days. Here are some of ours.

The choice sleepover movie in the mid-90's was "Clueless." With a tagline like "Sex. Clothes. Popularity. Is there a problem here?" the answer was clearly no. It was witty. Funny. Fashionable. Hip. Awesome. Very, very awesome. Read More...

The response to Murphy's death here however has been nothing but respectful and genuine, and I thank you all for that.

Today's Daily TwitPic comes from Alyssa Milano, by way of Twitter user @dustinpjones. At some point, Milano joined Murphy on a USO tour, to entertain the troops overseas. Hit the jump to see them both here having the time of their lives. Read More...

FROM MTV.COM: From the quotable "Clueless" to the hard-bitten "8 Mile," Brittany Murphy has left behind a legacy of remarkable onscreen roles. But before her sudden death on Sunday, the 32-year-old actress also completed work on several films and was getting set to begin another in January. Not much is known about these low-profile projects, so MTV News got in touch with various producers and reps connected to the films to figure out their status and when audiences might have the chance to see the actress at work in the future.

"Abandoned"
Before her passing, Murphy completed work on this psychological thriller in which she plays a woman with a history of psychiatric issues who accompanies her boyfriend (Dean Cain) to the hospital for surgery, only to have him disappear without a trace. Hospital staff claim to have no record of him on file and suggest the entire scenario is a manifestation of her damaged psyche. It soon becomes clear, however, that darker forces are at work, as the film becomes an examination of theft and betrayal.

In 2002, stars Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Gellar hosted the annual MTV Movie Awards. They were a bit nervous starting things off, so they called in a couple of their celebrity pals to help out, including Andy Garcia, Andy Dick and... Brittany Murphy. As we take some time today to remember Murphy's contributions to film and pop culture, we look back to this moment and remember a happier time for the actress, when she was fresh off the success of "8 Mile." FROM MTV.COM: "You're a virgin who can't drive." With that one line in "Clueless," delivered in saucy mean-girl style, Brittany Murphy entered the pop culture history books. Fourteen years later, the 32-year-old actress died after suffering an apparent full cardiac arrest on Sunday morning. But before her tragic passing, Murphy left a string of memorable performances on the big and small screen.

Murphy got her start in Hollywood with a series of guest appearances on TV shows while still in her teens. " 'Murphy Brown' was a really big deal for me. That was my second day in L.A.," she told MTV News in 2006. And it wasn't long before the actress secured the plum role of ugly duckling Tai Fraiser in "Clueless."

FROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: Fourteen years after the release of "Clueless," Brittany Murphy's first big screen appearance has proven to be her most memorable — and her most quotable. As Tai, the awkward new girl in a class of sophisticated, wealthy Beverly Hills teens, Brittany was lovably and adorably naive. The movie proved to be immensely quotable from the moment we first saw the trailer (embedded after the jump for your viewing pleasure and nostalgia). We watched the teen classic last night with a heavy heart, but Brittany's hilarious performance had us laughing along as per usual — a fitting tribute to such a talented actress. We laughed so hard, in fact, that we decided to round up our top five favorite Tai remarks.
