We're just like you, all broken up that the Golden Globes ceremony is another casualty of the writers strike. And it occurred to us that we're not just going to miss the stars and speeches and the fashion and all that. We're going to miss the famed Golden Globes song that opens every telecast. So, never ones to go down quietly, we decided to whip up our own approximation of what the song would have looked like. And of course we decided to set it Britney Spears' "Gimme More."

Check it out below and click here to read all the lyrics for yourself.

By and large we stick to movie news and commentary here on the Movies Blog, but when you've got an outspoken star like Katherine Heigl chatting on a red carpet at the height of Britney mania...well sue us, we had to ask for her take. Heigl knows a thing or two about public scrutiny so it's no surprise the actress stressed "compassion" for Spears during this time when "she is obviously in a great deal of drama and pain." Of course, she also added that her wish for the media to leave Britney alone was "a pipe dream." So let's give some kudos to Heigl for living in the real world, even if it came as she stood in front of 27 women in dresses pimping her latest flick, "27 Dresses."

What do you think of Heigl's remarks? Should everyone just leave Britney alone? Is it a pipe dream as she says? And what about those women in those crazy dresses in the background? So many questions...

There are a lot of sequences in Judd Apatow's upcoming sure-to-be comedy smash "Knocked Up" that still bring a smile to my face (I've seen the flick twice already if that's any indication). One is when new best buds Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd engage in a bit of male bonding in Vegas by taking in Cirque du Soleil under the influence of some truly unsafe hallucinogens. It all gets started in the car ride as the two rock out to the music of Britney Spears.

When I caught up with Apatow and Rogen last week I had to find out what the Britney obsession was all about. Check out the answer in the clip below and for a whole lot more of a very funny interview with Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen you can do a lot worse than going here.
