Last night got busy in Twitter-Wood on a few fronts. Former "Remote Control" host Ken Ober's passing surprised a number of tweeters, including Brian Posehn and Jeff Katz, who both noted his loss.
L.A.'s Westwood village theatre, meanwhile, was epicenter for all of the "Twilight" Twitterverse during the "New Moon" premiere. BooBoo Stewart posted a pic from the red carpet, Rachelle Lefevre posted her reasons for missing the event, Brett Ratner was in attendance and Kevin Smith made a date out of the night with his daughter. You can check out what they had to say after the jump along with Twitter Pic pick that I selected more for its significance than its shock value, as Neil Patrick Harris officially moved into the Twitter-Wood neighborhood. It's all in the report for November 17, 2009. Read more...
Someone with a steady hand sent Sean Patrick Flannery a picture of the best "Boondock Saints" jack-o-lantern you're likely to see this year, and he retweeted in kind. There really wasn't any other choice for the Twitter Pic of the Day.
In other tweets, David Slade continued his "Eclipse" posting with a shot of one of the film's stunt co-coordinators and Rachelle LeFevre admitted to crying during "Where the Wild Things Are." Check out those post below along an old clip of The Ultimate Warrior that Aziz Ansari dug up, how Eliza Dushku feels about Dungeons & Dragons, who wants her at his table to play and how Ice-T is faring at "Borderlands" on his Xbox 360. The nice thing about Twitter-stalking celebrities is that under most circumstances there is no danger of injury or harm to personal property, which is more than can be said of Christian Serratos' mother's car today, according the "Twilight" star's tweets.
And while danger may not have been a factor, Miley Cyrus seems to have decided that Twitter is no longer the place for her, according to her final tweet before closing her account. I will personally miss the pictures or her mullet-wigged, surgical masked father, in addition to all of her meditative wisdom, and wish her well offline. Sarah Silverman, Ice-T and Jessica Simpson are all still online though. Believe or not, they all posted pics over the last 24 hours, and Silverman's is easily the least bizarre. Oh, and let's also take a moment to welcome Tracy Morgan to the Twitter community. He greets us with an ominous message, but that's nothing compared to the NSFW one that follows. Check 'em all out below in the Twitter-Wood report for October 8, 2009. Read more...
Kevin Smith completed his Twitter marathon today, and there were fellow Twitter-Wood feed faces like Richard Kelly and Brian Posehn there to meet him at the finish line. The Twitter-Wood report likewise congratulates him on his 24-hour Q&A session and wishes him sweet dreams while he re-adjusts to a normal sleep cycle again.
Emmy Rossum seems to be the new "Full House" star Twitter-Wood reports over the last week. You can probably chalk that up to my affinity for Counting Crows. I slipped in two more tweets on her performance with them in Central Park today -- this time with video links. Honestly, I could have made a complete report just between her and Kevin Smith today, but I did throw in Shannon Elizabeth's birthday pic, a Hollywood confession and a Twitter Pic of the Day featuring human size extremes. Enjoy! Read more...
Could observations about the relationship between Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore reveal your key financial prosperity? Well, at least one CNBC analyst thinks they might, and the happy couple was amused enough to tweet their reactions today in the Twitter-Wood feed.
The feed experienced an image-heavy weekend of tweets -- enough that selecting a Twitter Pic of the Day was not a cut-and-dry decision this afternoon. In the end, I chose a shot that country music fans will appreciate and everyone else in the free world will at least experience bewilderment at. It's a candid photo from Vegas that Penn Jillette recently caught with singer David Allan Coe. Its creepy second-placing challenger was a piece of fan art someone put together for Rose McGowan. In the old days fans depended on pencils and crayons; now, they have 3-D rendering software. Feast your eyes below, because it's all in the Twitter-Wood report for August 24, 2009. Read more...
North Korea's release of American journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee today proved once again how quickly the news pipeline flows into the Twitter-Wood feed. Actors like John Cusack, Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan were among the first to express their support via tweets and celebrate the pair's pardon, which followed closed-door negotiations with former U.S. President Bill Clinton.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Piven's appearance on WWE RAW last night earned him Trending status on Twitter's sidebar, and he responded in kind by posting my selection for Twitter Pic of the Day (narrowly beating out Cusack). Thirdly, anyone with a soft spot for Disney tween and teen celebs will want to read the gushing exchange between Selena Gomez and Ashley Tisdale that took place today. It's all in the mix below in the Twitter-Wood Report for August 4, 2009. Read more...
You just can't turn your back on the Twitter-Wood feed. I stepped away for a couple of days to leave things in MTV Movies Blog editor Adam Rosenberg's capable hands, and "Eclipse" director David Slade activated a new account. He hit the ground tweeting, too, commenting about notes he just received from Stephenie Meyer about the next "Twilight" film. (Editor's note: Clearly my hands are not terribly capable.)
Meanwhile, Jon Favreau was partying down this weekend, celebrating an end to principal photography for "Iron Man 2." Both directors, as well as two celebrities attending the Inter Milan/Chelsea match at Pasadena's Rose Bowl, an extremely confident Dane Cook and music suggestions from both Rainn Wilson and David Lynch also showed up over the last 24 hours. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is your Twitter-Wood report for July 20, 2009. Read more...
