For the record, I always link back to the source and cite everyone's tweets that I use from the Twitter-Wood follow list, including Edgar Wright. That's more than can be said for an edited version of an Edward Woodward memorial he wrote on his blog that showed up in edited form on the Times website, though, according to his posts today.
I do make a minimal number of edits, such as the f-bomb in Ice-T's Twitter Pic of the Day winner today, which was followed by yet another Brett Ratner/Michael Jackson pic. You need see that one for the giant wig along. Check it all out after the jump along with a "New Moon" cast shot from Gil Birmingham, Alyson Hannigan's musical Joss Whedon nostalgia and Jamie Campbell Bower's befuddlement over Justin Bieber. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for November 19, 2009. Read more...
Last night got busy in Twitter-Wood on a few fronts. Former "Remote Control" host Ken Ober's passing surprised a number of tweeters, including Brian Posehn and Jeff Katz, who both noted his loss.
L.A.'s Westwood village theatre, meanwhile, was epicenter for all of the "Twilight" Twitterverse during the "New Moon" premiere. BooBoo Stewart posted a pic from the red carpet, Rachelle Lefevre posted her reasons for missing the event, Brett Ratner was in attendance and Kevin Smith made a date out of the night with his daughter. You can check out what they had to say after the jump along with Twitter Pic pick that I selected more for its significance than its shock value, as Neil Patrick Harris officially moved into the Twitter-Wood neighborhood. It's all in the report for November 17, 2009. Read more...
It's been months now since the untimely passing of Michael Jackson. Yet somehow, he remains very much a part of the public consciousness. Part of that is the documentary, "Michael Jackson's This Is It," which collects the pop legend's final rehearsal footage. Not only did the release trigger the flood of Jackson memorializing anew, the doc itself notably doesn't ever explicitly say that he's left us.
What's interesting about all of the personal remembrances to have surface is the picture that they paint. Jackson was famously reclusive in his later years, trailed by controversy and somehow standing apart from the cult of celebrity, even as he sat at its pinnacle. Only through the recent doc and the memories of his family and friends are we now getting a picture of the man behind all of that mystery. Brett Ratner is one of those people Jackson was close with, and he's been sharing generously on Twitter for some time. The latest, today's Daily TwitPic shows us the "Rush Hour" director with Michael, Chris Tucker and Jackson friend Al Malnik in Acapulco for Ratner's birthday. Read more...
Edward Woodward, the actor best remembered for his starring role in the TV series "The Equalizer" and his once-in-a-lifetime performance in the original pre-bees "Wicker Man," commanded a mountain of memorial tweets today. Simon Pegg, Edgar Wright and even Seth Meyers posted memories and favorite performances amid the news of his passing, and I join them. If you haven't seen him in 1973's "The Wicker Man," you're missing out on one of the all-time great horror/musical productions.
There were "New Moon" tweets today, too, of course. Peter Facinelli spent his pre-premiere morning getting his driver's license renewed, while Tinsel Korey posted a pic from outside and BooBoo Stewart prepped at the gym. Check out their tweets after the jump along with a Twitter Pic of the Day starring Michael Jackson and an "Iron Man 2" note from Jon Favreau. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter-Wood report for November 16, 2009. Read more...

Yankees supporters were out in force last night, and a few Twitter-Wood citizens were right by the field uploading pics. Brody Stevens may have shot the most enviable of the day, apparently getting soon-to-be-MVP Hideki Matsui in the dugout before the game. Jeremy Piven caught another high-quality photo-op, though, standing with his fellow Chicagoan Brian Urlacher.
Poor John Favreau was stuck in the editing room for "Iron Man 2," though, which he noted on his account. Larry King, Eliza Dushku and other added their thoughts after Phillies finally went down. Check out all of their tweets, along with Brett Ratner's pic with Mariah Carey after wrapping her video and Andy Milonakis. They're all in the Twitter-Wood report for November 5, 2009. Read more...
Cow films appear to be the official successor to the unseen prequels tag that was trending on Twitter earlier this week. Both Jon Favreau and Steve Agee made contributions today, while John August offered some criticism of ABC's new "V" series and Brian Lynch commemorated the 40th birthday of "Sesame Street."
In the "Twilight" neighborhood of Twitter-Wood, meanwhile, Peter Facinelli discussed an accidental oversleeping incident that resulted in a late arrival on-set. David Slade responded by thanking him for not ever being late during "Eclipse." Check out all of those tweets after the jump. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for November 4, 2009. Read more...
Due to the unending nature of real life, sequels to non-fiction films should be more common than they are. Documentary sequels do occasionally exist though, and the most necessary of these are the follow-ups to films involving inconclusive or controversial legal cases. Must-see examples include Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky's "Paradise Lost 2: Revelations" and Nick Broomfield's "Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer."
We may have another to add to that group now that Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski ("Chinatown") has been arrested and faces extradition on 32-year-old statutory rape charges. Filmmaker Marina Zenovich, whose brilliantly constructed 2008 film "Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired," shed new light on the 1977 trial, has reportedly gone to Switzerland to further document the case. It's not clear if she is interested in making another feature doc or simply looking to supplement "Wanted and Desired" with new footage in the form of an epilogue. Read more...
A few talking heads in the Twitter-Wood feed like Michael Ian Black and Greg Grunberg were following Apple's keynote address today, where new iPods and features were announced. One guy caught a quick picture with with Steve Jobs, however, and that shot earned Tyrese Gibson my Twitter Pic of the Day.
Others were more concerned with the new "Melrose Place" series last night, like writer Brian Lynch. You can click on down read their commentaries accordingly, along with Kat Dennings' birthday wishes to Jonathan Taylor Thomas, a pic from John Favreau at an AC/DC performance, and an emphatic announcement from Brett Ratner. It's in the Twitter-Wood report for September 9, 2009. Read more...

It was tempting to let today's Daily TwitPic off the hook, what with the late arrival of yesterday's Labor Day edition, but the Friday pic was too good to pass up on. You know Brett Ratner, right? The director behind the "Rush Hour" franchise? Well he has some... powerful friends.
Most folks have seen the infamous "Michael Jackson dancing in a car" video, a candid scene shot by Ratner on a handheld camera from the front seat of whatever vehicle the two were riding in together. Well the two got to hang together again at a party thrown by Diddy. I'm not exactly sure how old this pic is, but I do remember talk of the rapper/producer having a shindig in the early part of the summer. That would date this image to just weeks before Jackson's untimely passing. Read more...
For those of you who caught the Boise State game or "Big Brother" last night, I've got some good news for you. You can click right on ahead and find out what Seth Meyers and Shannon Elizabeth were thinking while you picked your jaw up off the floor in front of the TV. I'm in the prior camp.
Moving on, I've got a pile of photos on the Twitter-Wood playlist today. Selecting among all of Emmy Rossum's shots onstage with Counting Crows in Central Park proved too difficult, so I just grabbed one and suggest you head over to her account for the rest. Grabbing the Twitter Pic of the Day honors, however, was Brett Ratner, who posted a shot of himself with Michael Jackson and P. Diddy. There seems to be something different going on with each of them in the scene. Keep on going, and you'll see some others from David Slade and Danny Masterson, as well as commentary from Jeremy Piven on his Letterman appearance last night where he addressed his pullout from "Speed the Plow" on Broadway last year. It's in the Twitter-Wood Report for September 4, 2009.
