AvatarNobody is dead forever in James Cameron's sci-fi universe, so don't expect Sigourney Weaver to be sitting out of "Avatar 2."

"When you have a science-fiction series, a science-fiction franchise, you’re never dead, unless your DNA is expunged from the universe. And then there’s always time travel!" he explained in an interview with Vulture. "

But that's not his only explanation for how the late Doctor Grace Augustine might return to the "avatar" universe: "Have you ever heard of nonlinear storytelling? A lot happens on that planet before she shows up, and before Jake shows up to join her. She’s there for fifteen years ahead of time."

Netflix

Stop your lamenting about Netflix's plan to divide their company in two, because they have already cancelled the launch of their sister site, Qwikster.

Announced only three short weeks ago, Qwikster was supposed to take over the DVD rental service that Netflix previously offered. But the immediate consumer backlash led Netflix CEO Reed Hastings to realize that maybe that wasn't such a great idea. He announced today in a statement that the new business model has been scrapped, and Netflix will remain Netflix for the foreseeable future.

Catwoman's suit in "The Dark Knight Rises" might not look like much on the surface, but apparently it has a violent streak.

The images of Anne Hathaway that hit the web last week showed her riding an all-terrain bike down a set of stairs, and according to reports things went a bit awry during the stunt. When Hathaway's stunt double was performing that scene, the bike ended up running into one of the production's IMAX cameras. Apparently neither the camera nor the cameraman were injured in the crash, but we're hoping that wasn't the extra 90 percent Hathaway was talking about in her recent MTV interview:

Lock up your vaults: a "Tower Heist" is upon us!

Maybe it's the return of Casey Affleck's deadpan humor that I'm feeling, or maybe it's the excitement about Eddie Murphy returning to the buddy-crime genre, but there's something about the new trailer that Yahoo! premiered that I can totally get behind. The cast, which includes Ben Stiller, Matthew Broderick, Alan Alda and Gabourey Sidibe, certainly helps.

Sam WorthingtonWe already know that Sam Worthington and James Cameron are heading back to Pandora for two more "Avatar" movies, but that won't necessarily be the last — or even the first — sci-fi collaboration between the two of these talents.

The Hollywood Reporter informs us that Cameron, Worthington, "Transformers" producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and writer Will Staples are teaming together to create "Myth," a project that has no further details beyond the fact that "it's big, it's sci-fi, and it's got lots of action." Cameron is not expected to direct, and at this point, it's even unclear that Worthington will star in the film — though one can certainly hope!

Though Worthington's casting in "Myth" remains unconfirmed, there's plenty of other new cast additions going on in Hollywood today. Check them all out past the jump!

Ben AffleckHe's getting comfortable behind the camera, but Ben Affleck will step back into the spotlight to trade jabs with "The Great Gatsby."

Affleck is in talks to join Baz Luhrmann's 3-D adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel in the role of Tom Buchanan, an irascible drunk who cheats on his wife Daisy, the love of Jay Gatsby's life. Although he's preparing to direct Iranian hostage flick "Argo," Deadline reports that Affleck will make room in his schedule to star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan in "Gatsby."

In other casting news, we've got updates on Arnold Schwarzenegger's live-action comeback, Hailee Steinfeld's Shakespearean turn and more!

Submarine posterWhen you're a 15-year-old kid, your perception of yourself is rarely the same as the way the rest of the world views you. Such is the case with 15-year-old Oliver Tate (Craig Roberts) in director Richard Ayoade's feature film debut "Submarine," playing at this week's Sundance Film Festival.

Based on the 2008 novel by Joe Dunthorne and produced by Ben Stiller, "Submarine" follows the aforementioned Oliver, who fancies himself a cool, well-liked literary genius but in reality is socially awkward and unpopular. With his 16th birthday on the horizon, Oliver wants to do just two things: lose his virginity to his arsonist girlfriend Jordana (Yasmin Paige) and prevent his mom (Sally Hawkins), whom he suspects of banging her New Age life/dance coach Graham (Paddy Considine), from leaving his depressed father (Noah Taylor). And so he sets out to break up his mother's affair and save his family... all while pursing the seemingly impossible dream of cashing in his V card.

In the spirit of the underlying wackiness that characterizes each and every "Fockers" film -- "Meet the Parents," "Meet the Fockers" and now "Little Fockers" -- we thought we'd have a little fun with the cast when we caught up with them at the recent "Fockers" press day. Our version of said fun was asking everyone (Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman and Owen Wilson, and Jessica Alba) a few multiple choice "would you rather" questions based on events that happen in the films. Note: Hoffman's impression of a musical condom is not to be missed.

As you've likely seen via countless TV spots and trailers, Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro are back with yet another installment of their "Meet the Parents"/"Fockers" franchise. "Little Fockers" revolves around the newest additions to the Focker family, 5-year-old twins Henry and Samantha, and specifically their birthday party, as well as Greg (Stiller) once again trying to prove himself a capable man of the house to his demanding father-in-law (De Niro).

For those who can't get enough of the comedic stylings of the Stiller/De Niro duo, MTV News is happy to present you with three splendiforous clips.

Clip #1 opens with little Henry asking dad, Greg, if he can scale a climbing wall. His exact words are: "Dad, can I please go climb that big rock wall?" -- which, for any astute viewer, provides a bit of foreshadowing. Henry goes off to climb, while Greg and Jack discuss whether or not Greg has imparted on his son the proper skills to achieve such a feat. Naturally, when Greg ends the discussion with "You've just got to accept that I've got this," Henry falls off the wall and lands with a thud. Read More...

James Franco"Greenberg" was fairly well received when it was released on the indie circuit this year, and Ben Stiller's darkly comic performance was considered one of his best. So it doesn't come as too big of a surprise that Stiller is reteaming with "Greenberg" writer-director Noah Baumbach and his co-star Greta Gerwig for Baumbach's next film, "While We're Young."

Vulture has the news that Stiller and James Franco have already signed on to the flick, with offers out to Gerwig and Cate Blanchett. Apparently, Blanchett's role was originally intended for Baumbach's wife, Jennifer Jason Leigh... but since she filed for divorce last week it's probably a safe bet that she's out of the picture.
