It's been a little while since we've heard from Sacha Baron Cohen on the solo comedy front. Back in 2006, every annoying person you know dressed up as Borat for Halloween, but increasing familiarity with his mockumentary tactics made it more and more difficult for Cohen to film without being noticed.

Cue "The Dictator," a classically Cohen character who isn't making his debut mockumentary style. The trailer for the film, which just arrived via Moviefone, reveals a very conventionally shot take on a very goofy character -- half the typical formula, updated for modern times.

Ben Kingsley

Ben Kingsley can't get enough of his "Hugo" costar Asa Butterfield, apparently. Their powerful dynamic in the Martin Scorsese 3-D period piece was easily one of the highlights of that movie, and viewers are about to be treated to another collaboration between the pair of actors.

THR reports that Kingsley is in talks to join "Ender's Game," Gavin Hood's adaptation of the science fiction classic from novelist Orson Scott Card. Butterfield was previously cast in the title role with "True Grit" actress Hailee Steinfeld flirting with the project as well. For his part, Kingsley would play a legendary war hero long presumed dead.

Jeff BridgesTalk about having some major range: Oscar-winner Jeff Bridges will go from "Crazy Heart" to "Tron" to "True Grit" to, possibly, the zombie comedy "R.I.P.D."

According to Deadline, Bridges is in talks to star opposite Ryan Reynolds in the movie about a squad of undead police officers. The comedy, which is based off of a comic, has Robert Schwentke at the helm. If Bridges were to step in, he would be taking over for Zach Galifianakis, who dropped out from the project due to scheduling issues. Honestly though, who wouldn't abide by the law if The Dude was on the undead force?!

Check out the rest of today's biggest casting news from Hollywood and find out who might be appearing in "Prometheus" and which Academy Award-winner will be team up once again with Sasha Baron Cohen!

Director Martin Scorsese's "Shutter Island" featured something of a divisive final act, but there are a few core ingredients that most people can get behind – like Ben Kingsley's performance as Dr. Cawley, the brilliant psychotherapist placed squarely at odds with Leonardo DiCaprio's protagonist.

Fans of Scorsese and Kingsley will be happy to know that the pair are collaborating once again, this time on "The Invention of Hugo Cabret," based on the historical-fiction novel about "Le Voyage dans la Lune" filmmaker Georges Méliès.

"It examines the early days of cinema through the eyes of a child," Kingsley told MTV News about "Hugo Cabret" while promoting his role in the upcoming "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time." Read More...

To be fair, "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" is more of a spring release than summer. It's all semantics though. The summer blockbuster movie season officially starts next week on May 7 with the release of "Iron Man 2," and "Persia" follows shortly afterwards on May 28.

I hope you've all seen our excellent LEGO trailer for "Prince of Persia," which premiered this morning on MTV Movies Blog. I'm here to fill you readers in with a little bit of background on the flick, so you have an idea of what to expect when the lights dim on May 28. Hit the jump for the first in a full week of summer movie previews. Read More...

There are a few things I hope are written about me when I pass on. One of those -- the naming of my child Wilford Brimley Cocoon Jacks -- has yet to happen, but number two on the list is ready to be crossed from my bucket list. Over the past month, my colleague Matt Harper and I have been diligently re-creating the "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" movie trailer using nothing but Legos. It's been a strange trip since I first laid eyes on a two-inch Ben Kingsley Lego figure at Toy Fair earlier this year, and I immediately knew it was my destiny to animate him.

I think it turned out pretty well, nearly two minutes of stop-motion goodness. So watch below as we bring you pint-sized versions of Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley, Gemma Arterton and Alfred Molina rocking out summer blockbuster-style. And if you enjoy, please retweet it, link it, and generally pass it around. You'll validate my life's work.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea that filmmaker Martin Scorsese, the man who gave us the likes of "Goodfellas" and "Taxi Driver," is following up "Shutter Island," his latest, with something for the whole family. "The Invention of Hugo Cabret," by Brian Selznick, is a 2008 Caldecott Medal winning historical-fiction tale of the titular young boy who lives in a Paris train station. The story is said to be inspired by formative French filmmaker Georges Méliès, a man who developed many of cinema's earliest special effects and camera tricks, as well as one of the early artists to twist the medium for the purposes of storytelling.

It seems that the production is kicking into high gear, as a number of high-profile players appear to be in the process of signing on to join Scorsese in his latest adventure. Deadline Hollywood reports (unsourced) that a sizable group of players is in the negotiations phase and landing key roles in the director's next effort. Read More...

JJ AbramsLet's get right to it, shall we?

-- It's not exactly movies-related, but there's a new poster up for J.J. Abrams' hit series "Fringe." Both myself and MTV Multiplayer editor Russ Frushtick are fans of the show, and we were just joking at how uninspiring the poster is. I have to ask though... what the hell is Walter Bishop holding in his hand there? (Sci Fi Wire)

-- The first trailer for the Coen Brothers' next movie, "A Serious Man," has hit the Internet. I expect it to be glorious (the movie that is). (Apple)

-- "The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep" director Jay Russell will helm "Duncan" for Ben Kingsley's production company, SBK Pictures. It's about a grown woman reconnecting with a stuffed animal from her childhood. Kingsley will voice the toy. Sounds family-friendly to me! (The Hollywood Reporter) Read More...

Prince of Persia: The Sands of TimeI suppose "defy the future" is better than "desecrate the past." Or "raise hell in the present." We have here the shiny, new one-sheet for Jerry Bruckheimer's video game-turned-movie "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time." Rather than strike out in a new direction, a Ubisoft's 2008 entry in the series did, "Sands" is a proper adaptation of 2003's 3-D rendered reboot of the franchise.

The story follows a street urchin named Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) who is adopted as the king's heir as a way to prevent the ruler's biological sons from jockeying for the position. In addition to jealous siblings, Dastan must also contend with a Nizam (Ben Kingsley), a nobleman who has some dastardly plans of his own. Dastan's chief ally is Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton), who joins him in trying to find the time-twisting Sands of Time before Nizam can.

I'm not sure what to think about "Prince of Persia." On the one hand, video game adaptations do not have the best track record. Then again, "Sands of Time" is particularly focused on narrative and a cinematic presentation. What's more, Bruckheimer delivers the sorts of blockbusters I tend to flock to. Yes, even "Con Air." Continue past the jump for a look at the full one-sheet. Also, head over to UGO for their exclusive look at Kingsley as Nizam! Read More...
