There are official "Arrested Development" offices set up. The cast and crew have parking spaces. According to writer Dean Lorey, "we're really doing this thing."

"This thing" of course refers to the planned 10-episode-into-a-movie "Arrested Development" project that Netflix agreed to finance last year. Lorey took to his blog to say that he and fellow writers Mitch Hurwitz and Jim Vallely are currently writing the new season of "Arrested Development" which is set to premiere on Netflix in 2013. And that's the best news we've heard in a long time.

Rumors of a post-series movie were sparked almost immediately after the TV show ended its run in 2006. It's taken six years, but now the full cast is on board and planning on filming the additional content over the summer. According to Hurwitz, who is the show's creator, the 10-episode series will catch audiences up-to-date on what the Bluth family has been up to over the past half a decade and will act as a lead-up to the feature film.

Between his roles in "The Office" and "The Hangover," Ed Helms has sufficiently introduced the American public to his special brand of dorky, immature humor. But in his upcoming film "Cedar Rapids," he somehow manages to tweak his comedic routine just enough that it feels fresh and, well, funny.

Helms stars as a Midwestern insurance salesman who heads to a conference in Cedar Rapids to try to save the jobs of his coworkers. Along the way he ends up partying, fighting and getting it on with John C. Reilly, "The Wire"'s Isiah Whitlock Jr., Anne Heche, Rob Corddryand Alia Shawkat (OK, Helms only gets it on with two of the above... but you get the point). Sigourney Weaver --who's in pretty much everything nowadays -- also makes a brief, cowlick-smoothing appearance in the trailer. Read More...

The cast of “The Oranges” is growing a whole lot juicier. Just after word got out that "House" star Hugh Laurie could make the dark comedy his much-anticipated first lead role in a film, The Hollywood Reporter announces that a slew of top-notch actors are interested in joining him. Adam Brody, Alia Shawkat, Catherine Keener and Allison Janney are all in negotiations to sign onto TV director Julian Farino’s debut in the features department.

The script by Ian Helfer and Jay Reiss, which you may remember as the piece holding the #2 spot on the 2008 black list, has Laurie starring as man who gets romantic with the daughter of a family friend. That young lady was speculated to be played by either Leighton Meester or Mila Kunis, but according to the THR report, Meester has won out. Read More...

I know you're excited for this one. "Arrested Development" star Alia Shawkat. "Halloween" reboot star Scout Taylor-Compton. "New Moon" notable Dakota Fanning. And "Twilight" princess Kristen Stewart. This crew comes together to form the all-female rock band The Runaways for writer/director Floria Sigismondi's biopic... "The Runaways." And we've got their first trailer, exclusively here on MTV. I get a strong Quentin Tarantino vibe from the way this is cut. What do you think?

Chicks on roller skates. That's how I've chosen to sell "Whip It" to you male readers. Chicks. On. Roller skates. They're kickass ladies too, the lot of them. Ellen Page, Kristen Wiig, Drew Barrymore, Juliette Lewis, Zoe Bell, Ari Graynor, Alia Shawkat... like I said, kickass ladies. But then, that's what happens when you make a movie about an all-girl roller derby team.

I'm not entirely clear on the plot, but I do know a little something about the setup. Page stars as Bliss, a young Texan who rebels by joining a roller derby league after she grows tired of her mother (Marcia Guy Harden) pushing her to participate in beauty pageants. The script comes from Shauna Cross, adapted from her book "Derby Girl," and the movie is directed by Drew Barrymore, her feature debut. Hit the jump for the full poster. Read More...

Alia ShawkatFROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: You may have thought that “The Runaways” had completed their band’s lineup when they finally cast Scout Taylor-Compton as Lita Ford, but there was still one piece missing — the girl who didn’t become a Runaway: bass player Micki Steele.

Well, reportedly Floria Sigismondi’s biopic has found its bass player … but it won’t be the real life Steele. According to the Latino Review, Alia Shawkat (”Arrested Development”) has joined the band as fictional band member Robin.
