So much for my hopes of seeing Larry David's signature stare-down against the masses of Hollywood at the upcoming Academy Awards. As it turns out, the Oscars have selected a host — or hosts, I should say.
The comedic duo of Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin have agreed to host the 82nd annual Academy Awards, an announcement that comes hot off the heels of denials from Hugh Jackman, Robert Downey Jr. and Ben Stiller. Martin, of course, hosted the show twice before, but this will be Baldwin's first time as the show's master of ceremonies. Read more...

Hopefully, he'll have a bigger part than he had in Meyers' last film "The Holiday," where he had a brief cameo as Cameron Diaz's assistant. Read more...
It's a love triangle you never thought you'd see onscreen. According to Variety, Steve Martin has joined Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin in an untitled romantic comedy written and directed by romantic-comedy veteran Nancy Meyers.
Meyers and Martin go way back, as she wrote and produced both of his "Father of the Bride" films.
All we have to go on, story wise, is that Baldwin and Martin play rivals, vying for the affection of Streep. It's certainly a talented cast, and Baldwin is a hot property thanks to his role on "30 Rock." Read more...
