Bruce Campbell"Oz: The Great And Powerful" just got a heck of a lot more exciting now that Bruce Campbell has announced he's been cast in it.

"I. Am. In. Oz. Sam Raimi refuses to tell me what character I will portray. Just know that the role is PIVOTAL," the "Burn Notice" actor tweeted. Considering James Franco has already been cast as the titular wizard-to-be and Campbell likely isn't playing one of the female witches, our guess is he plays some sort of mentor to Oz. Or we could be totally surprised and he'll end up playing a Munchkin or flying monkey. Regardless, we're thrilled by this casting news.

"The Smurfs" might not be invading New York City until August 2011, but that doesn't mean that they won't remind us that they're coming. In a new image from the upcoming film, Papa Smurf, Brainy Smurf, Smurfette, Grouchy Smurf, Gutsy Smurf and Panicky Smurf just landed in Central Park on a nice sunny Manhattan day. Original cartoon voice actor Jonathan Winters (previously confirmed), George Lopez and Alan Cumming are all on board, while pop star Katy Perry is in talks, according to Variety. That's as strange a lineup as I've ever seen. It also basically confirms -- whether or not Perry ultimately lands the role -- that there's some plan for Smurfette (that's the role she's up for) to sing. Not sure how I feel about that, even if it is true to the cartoon. Read more...

Have you heard about "Dare," directed by Adam Salky? It follows three high school pals -- played by Emmy Rossum, Zach Gilford and Ashley Springer -- from very different social circles and their complicated relationship with one another. In the clip below, Rossum's character Alexa, an aspiring actress, is told she doesn't have what it takes by Grant Matson (Alan Cumming), who appears to be the school's drama instructor.

The movie, which hits theaters on November 13, is based on Salky's same-titled short film. Enjoy the clip!
