Emma Watson and her "Harry Potter" director David Yates could be reuniting for the big screen, just don't expect the boy wizard to be involved. In other news, Ed Harris and Michael Bay could also be reuniting, Colin Firth ties the "Devil's Knot" and Alan Arkin, Al Pacino and Christopher Walken turned out to be "Stand Up Guys."
It's February 2, and you're tuning in to today's casting call.

The "G.I. Joe" sequel has already gotten rocked, and now it's about to get jinxed.
Despite the fact that most of the original "Rise of Cobra" actors are not returning for the developing "G.I. Joe 2," it looks like the ranks are filling out quite nicely all the same: on the heels of Dwayne Johnson's casting as Roadblock comes news from Heat Vision that Elodie Yung is playing the ninja Jinx. She'll next be seen as Rooney Mara's lesbian lover in "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo."

When MTV spoke to Zach Galifianakis at the "Due Date" premiere earlier this month, the funnyman wouldn't deny outright that he's going to be in James Bobin's new "Muppets" movie. And now a new report from The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog claims that Galifianakis is playing a hobo alongside a legion of other celebrity cameos in the upcoming "Muppets" flick.
We already knew that Amy Adams, Chris Cooper and Rashida Jones would be joining Jason Segel in significant roles. It looked like Jane Lynch might have a cameo, but she's since shot down those reports. Not to worry, a fresh new crop of celebs are joining Galifianakis in cameos.. Alan Arkin has been fingered as a tour guide, Jack Black will play a kidnapping victim, and Billy Crystal and Jean-Claude Van Damme are also showing up in unspecified cameos. Read more...

It's relatively quiet in Hollywood this morning, as entertainment outlets everywhere prep themselves to read, absorb and comment on the soon-to-be-announced Oscar nominations. There's some news though, including this kickass casting announcement for an upcoming indie crime drama.
Billy Crudup, Alan Arkin and Greg Kinnear are all signed on for "The Convincer," Variety reports. Shooting will commence on February 8 in "the Minneapolis area." The movie comes from director Jill Sprecher, who co-wrote the script with her sister Karen. Read more...

I'll admit, I don't know a whole lot about "City Island," from director Raymond De Felitta. My parents caught it last year at the Tribeca Film Festival and it was their favorite of the 'fest, which is enough of an endorsement for me. The comedy follows the family Rizzo, a dysfunctional crew who all have something to hide from one another. That all starts to change after an ex-con named Tony (Steven Strait) comes to live with the family.
"City Island" opens in theaters on March 19. You can find more on the flick and its cast -- which includes the talents of Andy Garcia, Julianna Margulies, Emily Mortimer and Alan Arkin -- on the official website at www.cityislandmovie.com. What we exclusively have for you today is a shiny new poster featuring the family Rizzo and their new friend. The image up on the right is just a small snippet; hit the jump for the whole shebang. That's quite an interesting lineup, eh? Writer/director Rebecca Miller, who also wrote "Proof," is back with her first directing gig since 2005's "The Ballad of Jack and Rose." "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee," adapted from Miller's own book, follows the titular Pippa (Robin Wright Penn) as she embarks on a journey of self-discovery after her older husband (Alan Arkin) moves the family to a suburban retirement community. See, Pippa has something of a spotty history and she's going to have to work through some of that in order to adjust to her new life away from the city.
I have here the latest poster for "Pippa Lee," touting a pretty dynamite cast which includes Maria Bello, Monica Bellucci, Blake Lively, Julianne Moore, Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder. Whew. Look for "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee" in theaters later this year, on October 23. Hit the jump for the full poster. Read more...
