Adam Lambert And Miranda Cosgrove Smile For The Camera In Today's Daily TwitPic

This certainly isn't the most unusual Daily TwitPic we've had. In fact, the person who posted the image even refers to it as "random." But I'm betting that a lot of you readers will at least appreciate who the players are.

To the right you've got Miranda Cosgrove, star of "The School of Rock" and "iCarly," and owner of the pic's tweet. And to the left... well... I'm guessing you recognize this guy. Adam Lambert may have been runner-up in the eighth season of "American Idol," but he finished first in the hearts of his fans. And Lambert's star has certainly been on the rise in the months since the "Idol" season ended, with the pop star attracting equal amounts of fan fervor and controversy. Adam Lambert 'Inspired' By Michael Jackson, Can't Wait For 'This Is It'

FROM MTV.COM: During season 8 of "American Idol," Adam Lambert became known for blurring boundaries, mixing elements of pop, '70s glam rock, metal, musical theater and more into his live performances. It's just that capacity to take risks that he so admires in Michael Jackson, whose "This Is It" documentary hits theaters on October 28.

"[H]is music so groundbreaking because he really brought a lot of rock into [it]," Lambert, who grew up listening to MJ and watching his videos, told MTV News. "He had initially set himself up with this R&B presence and he brought so much rock into it and I think it was really groundbreaking how he fused all those different styles together in a pop format. I'm very inspired by that musically."

American Idols Do Hollywood

Simon Cowell and Randy JacksonEven if you don’t watch the show, all it takes is a general awareness of pop culture to know that the eighth season of the hit TV series “American Idol” comes to a close this week. Finalists Adam Lambert and Kris Allen sang their parting shots last night, leading into tonight’s results show in which the votes are tallied and the winner, announced.

Of course, neither Lambert nor Allen will be free after the credits roll tomorrow night. There’s the usual post-season tour to think about of course, and the inevitable recording deals. There will also be offers to act, in movies, TV shows, shorts, commercials… pretty much anything you can think of. It’s the nature of that beast we know as “American Idol”: win or lose, you’ve got a shot at moving on to great things. Or at least just things. Read More...
