You gotta love when actors unwittingly confirm rumors during press junkets. This time it’s Bradley Cooper, who may have accidentally revealed to the guys at IESB.net that he is indeed set to play the handsome con artist “Faceman” in 20th Century Fox’s film adaptation of “The A-Team.” When asked, rather insidiously, if the actor was excited for the role, Cooper responded, “That’s out already?”
Of course, the casting news is not officially out, but Cooper must have been thrown off by the fact that most journalists at the junket for “The Hangover” were trying to get him to admit to signing on to star in “The Green Lantern.” Or, after so many denials, he just wanted to be able to excitedly substantiate something. He even continued talking about the film, enthusiastically stating that Joe Carnahan is going to “make a great movie out of it.” Read more...
I pity the fool who doesn’t think that Common would bring the badass back to B.A. Baracus in Joe Carnahan’s upcoming big-screen adaptation of “The A-Team.” The guy is big and intimidating, a startlingly effective screen presence, and he harnesses the sort of inner teddy bear quality that made Mr. T such a fan favorite for kids all those years ago.
Over the weekend, the “Terminator Salvation” star confirmed to us that the buzz is indeed building, and that he may someday slip behind the driver’s wheel of that famous black-and-red van. “Yeah, I’ve been hearing that, man,” said the actor/rapper. “I’ve been hearing that.” Read more...
One of the hottest young actors in Hollywood right now is Chris Pine, who’ll hit theaters May 8th as the new Captain Kirk in “Star Trek.” But these days, the actor has his eye on another big-screen adaptation of a classic TV show.
“We’ve talked about it,” Pine revealed to MTV recently when we asked whether he had approached his old friend Joe Carnahan about reuniting for the upcoming “A-Team” movie. “I’d love to.”
Carnahan gave Pine his first big break as an action star with the 2006 film “Smokin’ Aces,” and now that the director has been handed the keys to the high-profile film adaptation of the Mr. T show, Pine has been reminding the filmmaker that “A-Team” was one of his favorite TV shows growing up. Yesterday, our friends at Latino Review ran a story about Tyrese Gibson, in which the singer turned actor confirmed he’s committed to starring in a potential “A-Team” movie, more or less reiterating statements he originally made to CHUD’s Devin Faraci last May.
Interestingly, though, Gibson didn’t mention whether or not he was up for B.A. Baracus, the character made famous by Mr. T, or some other role, leading LR’s George Roush to speculate that he might be in the running for Templeton “Faceman” Peck instead.
Tyrese Gibson pities the fool that speculates. Read more...
It's a good time to be Woody Harrelson these days. After a starring turn in this year's Best Picture winner, the veteran actor has no less than nine films in various stages of development.
But perhaps no movie has fans talking more than the one he isn't even officially attached to...yet.
"I haven't heard anything since I talked to you last," Harrelson said when we pestered him again for details on "The A-Team" movie, in which he's rumored to star as Murdock (click here to see our first time around). "It's still one of those question marks." Read more...
