FROM MTV.COM: "New Moon" mania took over the Hollywood & Highland Center on Friday night, as one of the first stops on the movie's nationwide Hot Topic promotional tour kicked off with an event featuring concerts by bands from the film's soundtrack, laughs with the cast, and a special appearance by the film's three biggest stars.
"Thank you to you guys," gushed Robert Pattinson, taking the stage alongside Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner in front of hundreds of shrieking, black-T-shirt-clad fans. "Without you, 'Twilight' wouldn't be anywhere."

By now, you Twilighters have all seen the footage in which Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) throws down for some fisticuffs with the Volturi vampires in "New Moon." What you haven't seen -- and what we have here for you right now -- is multiple angles of behind-the-scenes footage showing how the violence came together. Check it out:
Cool, right? For a look at the finished scene as it appears in the movie, hit the jump right... here! Read more...
All this week over on Hollywood Crush we've been featuring exclusive footage from Robert Pattinson's audition tape for the 2008 comedy, "How To Be." I figured that since some of you might have missed it, I'd round them all up here for easy access. Isn't that nice? Here's the first of the clips:
You can read the write-up for that first part right here. You can also find part two right here and part three right here. Stay tuned too, because we'll soon have two exclusive clips from the actual movie for you to check out. Enjoy!
As I told you all earlier this week, MTV ace reporter and Twilighter-in-residence Larry Carroll will be speaking with the cast of "New Moon" (in theaters November 20) very, very soon. And while he has plenty of questions prepped and ready -- heck, there have been strategy meetings to that effect -- he also wants to give you fans a shot at having your own queries heard.
So... here's how it's going to roll. The interviews will consist of four solo sessions, with director Chris Weitz and stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. There will also be three group interviews, with the members of the Cullen family, the Wolf Pack and the Volturi, respectively. That's seven interviews, four solo and three group. In the interests of keeping things fair (and manageable) please send along no more than one question per interview. We'll pare the list down (there's bound to be some overlap) and do our best to make your voices heard. To submit your questions, just e-mail us at tips@mtvmoviesblog.com before the end of the day today.
While Ricky Gervais is busy working on his routine for hosting the Golden Globes, the folks orchestrating the Academy Awards are feverishly hunting for a host of their own.
Hugh Jackman, last year's master of ceremonies, has already turned down the gig, and now it appears that the dynamic duo of Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr. have declined the opportunity to host in tandem as well. The obvious questions is, what is it about the Academy Awards that's putting these prospective hosts off? Does Oscar have something in his teeth?
Maybe it's a simple matter of not asking the right people, since Hollywood has no shortage of talented professionals that could do the award ceremony justice. If I were in charge of selecting a host, here are some of the folks that I'd consider. Read more...
We are now in the home stretch to the release of "New Moon." In just 17 days -- a mere 408 hours from now, or 24,480 minutes (roughly) -- the second entry in Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series hits theaters. What that means for you Twilighters, other than the expected mounting excitement, is lots and lots and lots (and lots) of pictures.
Cast and crew are traveling around the world to do press for the film. Hell... we'll be seeing them this week, as you learned last night when we solicited fan questions. For now, why don't you content yourself with this new batch of images. Just click the pic below to be whisked off to our newly updated image gallery.
Yup. You read that right. This week, MTV ace reporter and Twilighter-in-residence Larry Carroll will be speaking with the collected cast members of "New Moon." The interview structure is a bit confusing if you're not a fan, but these groupings should make perfect sense to most of you readers.
For starters, Larry will be speaking to stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner individually, as well as director Chris Weitz. He'll also be doing a series of group interviews, which you can probably guess at the breakdown of: the Cullens, the Wolf Pack and the Volturi. So that's seven interviews in total: the four individuals plus the three groups. Our time is limited, so please keep your submissions to one question apiece per interview. Just send them over to tips@mtvmoviesblog.com by Wednesday night. And get psyched from the November 20 release of "New Moon"!
If I'm Robert Pattinson, right now I'm thinking I need a nap. "New Moon" wrapped in May, followed quickly by the start of production on romantic drama "Remember Me," which finished up shortly before "Eclipse" began filming in August, eventually wrapping late last month. But there is no rest for the world's most popular vampire. The globe-crossing promotional effort for "New Moon" has only just begun.
That's why RPattz and director Chris Weitz touched down in Tokyo over the weekend, and fans lined up at the airport to get autographs, snap photos and, by the looks of paparazzi pics, make Pattinson smile. On a sports-related aside, note that Pattinson rocked a New York Yankees hat when he arrived in Japan. Endorsement of the team that now holds a commanding 3-1 lead in the World Series? Did the Brit actor become a convert to the Yanks while in the city this summer shooting "Remember Me"? Read more...
