The latest trio to join the upcoming "Machete" sequel's line-up are Amber Heard, Demian Bichir and Michelle Rodriguez, Variety reports. Rodriguez appeared in "Machete" as well, while Bichir and Heard are new additions to the franchise. Heard will play a femme fatale who is a "manipulative assassin code-named Miss San Antonio," according to the report, while Bichir's role is being kept under wraps.

Ever since "Machete Kills" was officially announced last month, actors have been flocking to the project. After the jump, check out the scoop on other big part in the flick.

Umbrella Corporation is at it again. The first trailer for "Resident Evil: Retribution," the fifth installment in the "Resident Evil" film series, has hit the web, and it looks like the zombie-killing is back and better than ever.

The movie follows leading lady Alice, played by Milla Jovovich, as she awakens in the heart of Umbrella's operations facility. The survivor continues to hunt down those responsible for the T-virus outbreak, a search that takes her across the world. The synopsis for the movie reveals that the flick eventually culminates in a "mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything she once thought to be true." Sounds like retribution is indeed in order.

Fast & FuriousWith a slate of midnight screenings planned in some cities, we’re less than twenty-four hours from the American debut of “Fast Five.” And as the starting pistol is readied, we’re in the final stretch as we cover the fourth movie in the franchise: “Fast & Furious.”

After two sequels and eight years, “The Fast and the Furious” franchise went from the West Coast to the East Coast – and then onto the Pacific Rim – but it was now time to come back home. This fourth film, simply titled “Fast & Furious,” saw the first full-scale reunion of the original cast since the original in 2001: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster. Although the previous two films carried on the franchise, this fourth outing was the first real sequel to the story the street gang set up in the first place.

Jennifer LawrenceDown with the Capitol, and up with the casting of Katniss Everdeen!

Word on the street is that "Winter's Bone" lead and Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence is leading the race for the starring role in the upcoming "Hunger Games" adaptation, though a source confirmed to MTV's Hollywood Crush that no offers have yet been made.

Meanwhile, Josh Hutcherson admitted at South by Southwest that he would love to play Peeta, one of the two love interests in the flick. We're expecting that the casting of Peeta will wait until Katniss is in the bag, but it's worth noting that Hutcherson has thrown his hat into the ring.

But "Hunger Games" isn't the only news in the arena. The first "Conan the Barbarian" trailer has hit the web, Baz Luhrmann has a "Great Gatsby" update. and more after the jump!

Los Angeles will survive the alien assault in this week's "Skyline"... if only so the city can be bombarded again in next March's "Battle: Los Angeles." Thankfully, it looks like L.A. will be a bit more prepared this time around, considering "Battle" is more of a war movie, sci-fi style.

The trailer doesn't give too much of the film's plot away, but it's fairly straightforward. Aliens descend on Los Angeles, and the Marines are called in to try to stop the invasion. In this case, the Marines are Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez and Michael Peña (and thousands of others, of course -- those are just the ones we're supposed to care about). What is most notable about the trailer is that it presents the film first and foremost as a gritty war movie; badass extraterrestrials just happen to be the enemies. Read More...

Angelina Jolie may have secured a Twitter account, but she's locked it down and doesn't appear to have any plans to tweet anytime soon. That may come as a disappointment to Conan O'Brien, who noted the development today. Elsewhere, Jolie's new movie "Salt" just made Bret Easton Ellis space out and contemplate "powerful movies."

Twitter-Wood posts unrelated to Angelina Jolie over the last 24 hours included a shared moment between Kal Penn and Olivia Wilde that seems to have involved a gold cart and "House M.D.," as well as a Chatroulette prediction from Stephen Colbert and birthday cake for Zack Snyder's daughter that Star Wars fans should enjoy.
