From Aspen with love, a true blue "Dumb and Dumber" sequel is actually happening! Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are back on board with the Farrelly Brothers for another round of stupid mayhem, and to say we're pumped over here is a pretty big understatement.

In fact, the MTV Movies team is so jazzed by the impending return of Harry and Lloyd that we couldn't help ourselves from conjuring up some sequel ideas, "Anchorman" style. Embrace your inner idiot with us after the jump!

What do you get when you take "Die Hard" and "Air Force One" and smash them both together? Why, Roland Emmerich's next blockbuster of course!

Enter "White House Down," a movie that's being described as "Die Hard" in the White House. Not much is known about the project other than its premise as a "paramilitary takeover of the White House."

Of course, those of you who know Emmerich will note that this isn't the first time that the director has tackled this presidential palace... in fact, arguably one of the most famous scenes in Emmerich's entire career involved a huge alien spaceship blowing up the White House and everyone left inside. Which has us thinking, how much cooler would "White House Down" be if it were secretly an "Independence Day" sequel?

The late Whitney Houston's final film appearance is scheduled for this summer's "Sparkle," a remake of the classic 1979 movie of the same name. Featuring "American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks and current "The Voice" judge Cee-Lo Green, "Sparkle" tells the story of a young woman struggling to become a star against all odds.

Houston appears in the film as the lead character's mother, Emma, a single mom doing her best to do right by her children. It's bound to be an emotional performance, not just given the tragedy surrounding Houston's death, but the first look at her character seen in the just released "Sparkle" trailer. Take a look below, and head to MTV News for more.

"Sparkle" is scheduled for release on August 17, 2012.

James Cameron's "Prometheuses" would be awesome. But… it's not happening.

A report surfaced over the weekend that Ridley Scott and Cameron were planning another "Alien" to "Aliens" handoff with the "Prometheus" franchise, with Cameron stepping in to direct the sequel after Scott's upcoming epic hits this summer. Not happening. It's an April Fool's Day prank that's gotten out of hand, nothing more, nothing less.

Well, maybe a little bit more: for me, it's the cruelest April Fool's Day prank you can possibly play.

Not since 1912 has there been so much interest in the Titanic. (Of course that could also be said of 1997 when James Cameron released the film that launched Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio to next levels of famous).

Between the re-release of that film, the anniversary of the historic sinking and the soon-to-be-released mini-series from “Downton Abbey” creator, Julian Fellowes, everyone seems to have the Titanic on the brain. Fellowes recently opened up to The Hollywood Reporter about the mini-series, explaining that it’s not quite “Downton Abbey” on a ship.

“People want it to be, but it’s more complicated than that. ‘Titanic’ isn’t just about people and their servants,” he explained. “It’s about all of these people from different worlds coming together on one ship. My theory on disaster, though it’s a bit nanny, is that disaster brings out the best of you.”

Rock of Ages

If you were disappointed by the severe lack of Tom Cruise in the last "Rock of Ages" trailer, today's release of the musical film's second spot should take care of your ails. The Stacee Jaxx is front and center this time around, monkey in tow, even as plenty of other characters — played by Alec Baldwin, Malin Akerman, Russell Brand and more — get the spotlight as well.

But seriously, if today's trailer is any indication, Cruise really is going to light this place on fire — and that's judging only by one brief glimmer of "Dead or Alive." Fun stuff!

Waltz Django Unchained

Quentin Taratino's "Django Unchained" has to be one of our most anticipated movies of the year based on the concept and cast alone.

If you haven't heard yet, Jamie Foxx plays the titular Django, an escaped slave who is taken under the wing of a German bounty hunter named Dr. King Schultz, played by Christoph Waltz. Schultz and Django set out to free the former slave's wife from an evil plantation owner played by Leonardo DiCaprio.

Now, pictures from the set provide our first look at any of the actors in costume. In the photo, Waltz is decked out in full western regalia as he crosses the street.

Check out the full photo after the jump.

James Bond

Double O agent James Bond is not simply another member of her majesty's secret service. He's also a talented ad man.

Two different news items today profiled the more promotional side of 007.

First it was announced that Daniel Craig would participate in an upcoming short film as Bond to help open the 2012 Summer Olympics Games in London. Danny Boyle, the games' creative director, will helm the short, which takes place inside Buckingham Palace. Queen Elizabeth herself had to grant special permission to allow filming inside her royal residence.

Movie pitch: two lifelong best friends hit the streets of Boston, Massachusetts. One of them is a smart-mouthed, super-ripped local (okay, he's Mark Wahlberg, obviously). The other, an even fouler-mouthed talking teddy bear. Sounds like a winning combo, right?

Somebody certainly thinks so, or else this gloriously red-band trailer for Seth MacFarlane's "Ted" would not exist. Thank the powers that be that it does: that scare-the-thunder-away song, vulgar though it may be, is going to be taught to little children everywhere come summer time. Get all of that and more on the new "Ted" trailer at MTV News!

Dumb and Dumber

You can go ahead and erase any trace of "Dumb and Dumberer" from your memory. We will finally have a true follow-up to the original 1994 comedy.

ComingSoon.net recently spoke with Peter Farrelly during the "Three Stooges" junket, and one half of the brotherly duo confirmed that "Dumb and Dumber 2" is set to go in front of cameras later this year.

"We're getting set to shoot 'Dumb and Dumber 2' in September," Farrelly said. "It's the first sequel we've ever done and we've got Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back."
