Sundance Movie Review: Rachel Dratch, Amy Poehler Comedy 'Spring Breakdown'

'Spring Breakdown'On Friday night, I hit the midnight premiere of the Amy Poehler-Parker Posey-Rachel Dratch comedy "Spring Breakdown" at my personal favorite Sundance theater, the Library. The line to get in was longer than Robert Downey's rap sheet, and 2 drunk dudes behind me kept joking about how they'd definitely get in because they had hard tickets. "I'll give ya a hard ticket," one said, to much laughter from the other. (Watch an exclusive clip from "Spring Breakdown" here.)

Once I got in, I saw several of the stars from the flick sitting in the middle of the crowd. The films at this year's 25th annual fest starts with a short commercial featuring people's past Sundance memories. Read More...

Sundance: Check Out An Exclusive Clip From Vampire Flick 'Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Undead'

"Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Undead" is not technically playing at Sundance, but it is premiering at Slamdance -- a sort of unofficial sister festival to Sundance that prides itself on accepting films that the larger festival may have bypassed for whatever reason. The film -- about a theater director who unknowingly accepts a gig adapting Hamlet from a horde of vampires -- is already gaining buzz here in Park City, and you'll see why in our exclusive clip. In the scene below, you'll get a decidedly sexy low-down on what you'll probably be wanting to see more of. Check it out.

Sundance Today: Guillermo Del Toro, Nick Cannon, Ashley Judd And More

Nick Cannon at Sundance 2009Weekend? What weekend? It's the second full day of Sundance and things really kicking into gear now. Sure yesterday we had Spike Lee talking "Inside Man 2” and Amy Poehler swooning for the Jonas brothers, but today...well, today's got it all!

We're talking to "Iron Man 2” star Sam Rockwell in a bit all about his two Sundance flicks (it's required that he have at least that many at the festival each year.). Maybe you want some "Hobbit" news. Guillermo del Toro will be spending some quality time with us today (alongside "Children of Men" director Alfonso Cuaron!). Want a glam movie star? Then you'll want catch our chat with Ashley Judd.

It seems only fitting that one of our first interviews during our first full day at Sundance would involve Parker Posey, star of countless films that have premiered here at Redford's institution of a film festival. Posey's here to talk about "Spring Breakdown," a high concept comedy co-starring SNL vets Amy Poehler and Rachel Dratch (check out the exclusive trailer here). When we got the trio together there was a lot of love in the air. Love for the skiers making their way down the mountain. Love for each other. And most importantly...Jonas brothers love. Sundance: Spike Lee Reveals 'Inside Man 2’ Plot Changed, Additional Casting Revealed

Spike LeeBig plot changes and casting continuity are in store for Spike Lee’s sequel to his 2006 bank heist blockbuster, “Inside Man,” the director exclusively told MTV News at Sundance.

Early reports had the movie, tentatively titled “Inside Man 2,” focusing on Clive Owen and his crew of ingenious thieves getting embroiled in a New York diamond district heist. “Naw, naw, not anymore,” Lee now says of that potential storyline, declining to reveal any fresh details. “Can’t tell you, or I’ll have to do one of these,” he says, making a stabbing motion. He did admit that, like the first picture, the sequel will be shot on location in New York City. Read More...
