We may have a ways to go before the girl on fire returns to Panem, but this fall, you can catch the woman who played Katniss Everdeen, Jennifer Lawrence, in a different role that's sure to generate buzz.
From the Academy Award-nominated director of "The Fighter," David O. Russell, comes "Silver Linings Playbook," which stars Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro.

As the summer movie season comes to a close, the big awards contenders have begun to ramp up their promotional campaigns. One of these films, Steven Spielberg's upcoming "Lincoln," has left many in awe at the striking resemblance between Daniel Day-Lewis and the president he's portraying.
The first official still confirmed just how uncanny Day-Lewis looks as Abraham Lincoln, and a new poster for the film, which is due out this November, matches, if not surpasses, those expectations.

Yesterday, the first trailer for Martin McDonagh's "In Bruges" follow-up, "Seven Psychopaths," debuted and revealed what kind of insanity is in store for us when the film opens nationwide on October 12, shortly after its premiere during TIFF's Midnight Madness.
The preview did an excellent job filling us in on just exactly who the titular psychopaths are, but today, MTV Movies Blog is premiering a brand new character poster featuring one of them, played by Abbie Cornish.

In our opinion, the most badass movie of the year came out this past April, but it isn't any of the big budget blockbusters you might be expecting. "The Raid: Redemption," a brutal, unrelenting instant classic, is an Indonesian martial arts flick that wowed just about everyone who saw it earlier this year.
Now to celebrate the home video release of "The Raid: Redemption" on August 14, the fine folks over at Mondo are offering a limited edition print that does the film justice.

Back in September of 2009, the remake of "Red Dawn" started production in Michigan under the direction of first-time helmer Dan Bradley, who had worked as a stunt coordinator and second unit director on three "Bourne" movies, including the upcoming "Bourne Legacy."
The cast was filled with relative unknowns, including Australian actor Chris Hemsworth as the lead, alongside Josh Hutcherson, the most well known of the cast having just appeared in "Journey to the Center of Earth" following performances in "Zathura" and "RV." Expected to arrive in 2010, "Red Dawn" took an unexpected detour which has finally come to an end.

Another day, another reason to be excited about the upcoming release of "Skyfall." Well, today is a special day because we have not one, not two, but five brand new character posters from the 23rd adventure of James Bond.
The film's Facebook page posted a brand new banner that features Daniel Craig as Bond, Javier Bardem as the villainous Silva, Berenice Marlohe as new Bond girl Severine and Naomie Harris as Eve, all set against the backdrop of the 007 logo. Later, the banner was cut into four individual character posters that feature each previously mentioned character.

While we're excited to see Philip Seymour Hoffman take on his newly cast role in "Catching Fire," we're also intrigued by his upcoming film "The Master," especially since a new poster hit the web yesterday. The image was released via an exclusive from The Huffington Post.
Thoughts on this partially submerged imagery? The curvature shading in the poster and the sweat on the top portion are nice touches on the bottle look. In "The Master" trailer focusing on Joaquin Phoenix's character, Freddie Sutton, (you can watch at the movie's official website), we already know "drinking and dancing" was part of the lead-up to some incident so a bottle calls that to mind. Additionally, the wet direction of the poster also makes me think of those scenes in the trailer along the ocean as well.

Few people know how to do on-screen demonic possession quite like the master of horror Sam Raimi, and his latest producer's credit seems poised to freak us out in the best way possible.
As part of our lead-up to Comic-Con, we have an exclusive look at a new poster from Sam Raimi's "The Possession."

Middle-earth is coming to San Diego later this week, and it's coming in a big way. Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" is sure to have one of the largest presences at Comic-Con this year, so it's only appropriate that the new poster is of equal proportions.
Entertainment Weekly revealed a panoramic poster for the upcoming "Lord of the Rings" prequel that includes ten scenes from the film.

The Warner Bros. panel at San Diego Comic-Con is set to feature some of this year's and next year's most anticipated films. Guillermo del Toro's "Pacific Rim" and Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" are just two of the films included in the presentation, but the movies will actually share more than the stage in common.
You may recall that del Toro was once set to direct the Jackson-produced, two-part prequel to "The Lord of the Rings," but after dropping out of the project, he will now present the film that replaced "The Hobbit" on his schedule.
In the lead-up to the presentation, the two Warner Bros. films each released posters for the event, with the "Pacific Rim" sheet showing off the enormous, robotic Jaegers for the first time.
