This week has been absolutely brimming with new material from "John Carter," and today's obligatory release has arrived -- and they are both vaguely reminiscent of "Star Wars."
Yesterday, the second trailer premiered, and photos and posters have been sent out at a dizzying pace over the past week. Now, three new banners for the sci-fi epic show off some of the scenes from the just-released trailer.
We see John Carter facing off with not one, but two white apes in the the surprisingly "Attack of the Clones"-esque Colosseum. Taylor Kitsch as the legendary Civil War captain transported to Mars takes out one of the apes during the trailer, but a second ape could be another question.
FROM MTV MOVIES: We've begun to look back at the year 2011, and after taking a look at the best trailers from the year, we slow things down a bit and decide which posters said the most, excited us and let us know what to expect in a single image.
These are the ten best poster of 2011. They knew how to capture our attention with images as simple as some rumpled sheets, a shaved head or hot pink letters. They took some of a generation's most iconic symbols, like the Bat-signal or Voldemort, and turned them on their heads.

The latest poster for Disney's "John Carter" won't give you a clear look at Mars or the creatures that live on the planet. That being said, it's definitely the coolest promotional material I've seen thus far for the upcoming sci-fi flick.
Anyone who knows the basic premise of "John Carter" knows that its titular hero, played by Taylor Kitsch, is a stranger in the strange land of Mars. This poster really underlines that by having him tinted in blue, while the rest of Mars and its residents are deep oranges and reds. It's simple, but it works.
We're getting closer and closer to the official release of "Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol," the fourth entry in the Tom Cruise-starring spy franchise. And with a fast-approaching release date comes a double dose of "M:I 4" news, beginning with a brand new poster, which you can see above.
In addition to the new poster, news has dropped that the fourth "Mission" is headed to Dubai once again. After shooting what looks to be one heck of a breathtaking action sequence on the massive Burj Khalifa tower, "Ghost Protocol" is returning to the city for the eighth annual Dubai International Film Festival.
Based on this new art for "Snow White and the Huntsman," it looks like this flick might really be the fairest of them all.
The Kristen Stewart-led flick shows off its fantasy colors in a new banner teasing the upcoming trailer, which is hitting the web tomorrow. Sure, it's photoshopped to all hell, but the banner shows off a very "Lord of the Rings"-esque visual style, just like director Rupert Sanders promised. So what if we can only see half of all the actors' faces? Like Sanders could just give everything away all at once.
But there are plenty of nods to what fans can expect in this expansive banner for "Snow White and the Huntsman." That sword in Stewart's hand is proving that her Snow White is no Bella Swan, for sure.
"Hunger Games" fans, today is your day. Want an exclusive look at a new poster of Josh Hutcherson's Peeta? We've got it. How about some talk from Amandla Stenberg about playing Rue in the Gary Ross-directed picture? Got that too, plus more!

“The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” has adapted Swedish author Stieg Larsson’s crime thriller novel of the same name in a perfect cacophony of white hot director David Fincher, newly most-sought-after score master Trent Reznor and fan-approved leads Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara. The film, which features Mara as a tormented computer hacker, probably doesn’t need a real hand in the hype department, but it certainly is appropriate that a Tumblr site helms its viral marketing campaign.
MouthTapedShut.com, the as of yet unofficial viral marketing hub for the “Girl With The Dragon Tattoo,” has posted a new poster — just as striking as the first one we saw, albeit for different, less naked reasons.
All hell is about to break loose, but luckily we know exactly when that's going to go down. MTV News has your exclusive first look at a brand new poster from "11-11-11," the number-obsessed horror movie about a man who becomes fixated on the tragic coincidences that occur on that date and at 11:11.
But maybe they aren't coincidences at all. You'll just have to wait and see. Only a few details have been released about the upcoming film, and this poster is one of your best hints at what's to come when the clock strikes 11.
And from the look of it, things aren't going to go so well.

Welcome to Puerto Rico, where hotel rooms were made to be trashed, a couple hundred miniature bottles of booze can disappear down your gullet overnight, and you might wake up in your boxer shorts with a tsunami-sized hangover and the vague recollection that you've probably made some exceedingly poor decisions in the recent past.
OK, a typical tropical getaway this is not. But then Johnny Depp's Puerto Rican escapades in "The Rum Dairy" are anything but the norm, as MTV News' exclusive poster debut makes hilariously clear.
The poster presents a sort of "before" image of Depp as journalist Paul Kemp rising from the booze-soaked near dead in the Caribbean after a hard day's night. See the poster in full after the jump!
Once upon a time, "Clueless" ranked at the top of my list of all-time favorite guilty pleasure movies. Not anymore, though — these days, I feel zero guilt in my love for Cher's hilarious misadventures wading through the high school drama of Beverly Hills. (In other words: no, Dan Hedaya, I will not get out of your chair.)
So, it's safe to say that I'm pretty excited to see the reunion between "Clueless" star Alicia Silverstone and director Amy Heckerling in "Vamps," a supernatural romantic comedy promising that "nice girls suck." An added bonus: Sigourney Weaver is in it! Cher meets Ripley! You can't go wrong!
Our friends at Hollywood Crush have an exclusive first look at the official "Vamps" movie poster. Go check it out and let us know what you think in the comments and on Twitter!
