Will ArnettWow is this a busy week. After the runaway success of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" last week -- and other shoe-in blockbusters in the weeks before it -- it's nice to see a little bit of variety for Friday's releases. "G-Force," with showings in two and three dimensions both, is an easy weekend win for families, provided they're not making a repeat (or first-time) trip to Hogwarts.

The CG animated adventure about a secret agent force of talking guinea pigs is a big-ticket item for a number of reasons. It is Disney's first (non-concert) live-action release shot in Digital 3-D. It is also produced by blockbuster-meister Jerry Bruckheimer in his 3-D debut. Then there's the knockout ensemble cast, which includes Nicolas Cage, Penélope Cruz, Steve Buscemi, Tracy Morgan, Will Arnett, Bill Nighy and Zach Galifianakis. Yeah, wow. Read More...

Johnny DeppFROM SPLASH PAGE: In last week’s poll, I asked readers to vote on the “Batman 3″ rumors they wished were true. From Cher playing Catwoman and Christopher Nolan exiting the franchise to Philip Seymour Hoffman playing The Penguin and Christian Bale taking his growl elsewhere, there’s been no shortage of rumors surrounding the next installment of the Batman film franchise. And no rumor has been without its share of fans, either.

When all the votes were tallied, however, the margin of votes between the most popular rumor and the next wish-it-was-true option was one of the largest in any of our polls thus far. And while the winner isn’t much of a surprise, the support for some of the other might raise a few eyebrows (and cause some heart palpitations) among the Batman faithful.

Transformers: Revenge of the FallenGood afternoon readers! I hope your collective Fridays are going swimmingly. I know my vision is swimming, but I'm also running on less than five hours sleep and a whole lot of root beer!

So I decided earlier in the week that the Monday morning Box Office Poll roundup is just too long. And really, is it helpful to know how your peers voted after the weekend is over? So I've decided to break things up a bit, and feed you the poll results every Friday afternoon instead. Not that it really matters week, since we all know where your votes fell. Read More...

Transformers: Revenge of the FallenYes, yes... we get big explosions and giant fighting robots starting this Wednesday. First let's talk about last week. Your votes have been tallied, and most of you -- 34% to be precise -- picked "Year One," which flopped in at number four on the weekly charts with a $20 million box office take. What gives, people? Oh wait... I missed "Year One" too.

No, my $9.50 ticket price (thank you indie theater) instead contributed to the $27 million take for "The Hangover." The weekend's big box office winner was "The Proposal," which snagged 24% of your votes. I apparently misunderestimated the appeal of a Sandra Bullock/Ryan Reynolds-led rom-com. Also, I made up the word "misunderestimated." Okay, fine... it wasn't me. "Dead Snow" rounded out third place with 20%; I hope you 20-percenters enjoyed it. I can't wait. Read More...

'Year One'Before diving in with the coming weekend releases, let's take a look at last week's poll results. Despite coming in behind both "The Hangover" and "Up" at the box office this weekend, 33% of you chose Tony Scott's "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3" as your weekend pick.

Surprisingly, the Eddie Murphy family fantasy "Imagine That" flopped in at #6 on the charts even though it took 26% of your votes here. Duncan Jones' sci-fi head-trip "Moon" came in at third with 19%, despite only opening in New York and Los Angeles this weekend. Read More...

'The Taking of Pelham 123'Welcome to a new weekly feature that I'll be running here on MTV Movies Blog. It's more of a poll really. It is a poll. As a fan of film, I try to get myself out to the movies every weekend. Even when there's nothing new that strikes my interest, there's something to be said for the experience of watching a fictional story unfold on a screen in a cavernous shared space. The movie-going experience is something we need to remember the value of, especially as home theater setups grow larger and more impressive.

Since I'm guessing that at least a few of you share my love for the in-theater experience, I'd like to hear what moves you to head out the door and lay down $10+ for a movie ticket. So I'll be creating this series of highly unscientific polls to get an idea of what your weekend plans are. I encourage you to sound off in the comments as well, to defend your picks, to rag (respectfully please) on the selections of other and to just generally shout your love of movies to the heavens. Catherine HardwickeIf there’s any doubt remaining that Catherine Hardwicke is one of the coolest people on the planet, let me now put it to rest. Last week, the “Twilight” director had us over to her house to see the infamous bed where she auditioned Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, the stairs that Taylor Lautner sat on while auditioning for the role of Jacob Black, the living room where KStew and RPattz first practiced the classroom scene and other notable items in her beautiful Venice, CA home/office.

When we were in her kitchen, Catherine also showed us her personal shooting script, housed in a glass shrine to “Twilight.” While flipping through the pages, we found the now-famous “You’d better hold on tight, spider monkey” line scribbled in a margin. Read More...

Frankie Delgado snagged himself the awesome job of being one of MTV News' correspondents for the MTV Movie Awards, and with the show just days away, he headed over to the Armani Exchange store in Los Angeles along with celebrity stylist Wouri Vice to check out possible red-carpet looks.

Like Lo Bosworth, he tried on many looks and had a hard time deciding how to nail the casual-but-not-too-casual look that works best for a show like the MTV Movie Awards. Read More...

With the MTV Movie Awards just days away, Lo Bosworth, along with celebrity stylist Wouri Vice, headed over to a private showroom in Beverly Hills to check out possible looks for the big show on Sunday at the Gibson Amphitheatre.

Lo, who is one of the weekend guest hosts for the big show, wanted to get red-carpet chic. So she and Wouri tossed aside all the dresses they knew wouldn't work and tried on four different little numbers.

Among Lo's top choices were a teal strapless dress, a peach minidress, a teal ruffled one as well as a hip-hop dress made of metallic gold material. In addition to all the dresses, she got the chance to try on some amazingly fabulous shoes and some dazzling jewels. Read More...
