The Cedric Factor continues well into the Sweet 16 now that the deceased Diggory has defeated Narcissa Malfoy, but is the pride of Hufflepuff about to enter his final duel? He's going up against Hagrid, the Hogwarts groundskeeper who has been a decisively fan-favorite character since the very beginning of "Potter." Madame Maxime and Narcissa Malfoy, he is not. Let the battle begin!

Voting for all Sweet 16 duels closes on Wednesday, July 6 at 12:01 AM EST, so make sure to start voting now. You can follow all of the action right here.

(2) Rubeus Hagrid vs. (3) Cedric Diggory
Although Cedric's still kicking in the Harry Potter World Cup, it's very possible that he's breaking out his wand for the very last time. Cedric narrowly defeated Narcissa in a 50.85% - 49.15% vote, hardly a blowout. "Potter" fans cried "conspiracy" in his last duel against the Slytherin witch, a notion that nearly knocked him out of the competition. Now, he's going up against one of the most beloved "Potter" characters of all time. On top of that, Hagrid has a score to settle -- Cedric did defeat Hagrid's lover Maxime in round one, after all. Some are expecting Hagrid to wipe the floor with Cedric in this latest duel. Others are predicting another Diggory victory. We'll find out soon enough which character is truly worthy of moving onto the Elite Eight.

The Harry Potter World Cup has had its brutal moments, particularly for the Weasley clan. The red-headed wizarding family has seen its own turned against each other round after round, and once again, we see two Weasley siblings — the only remaining twin, Fred, and Harry's best friend Ron — going up against each other on their quest for eternal World Cup glory.

Voting for all Sweet 16 duels closes on Wednesday, July 6 at 12:01 AM EST, so make sure to start voting now. You can follow all of the action right here.

(1) Ron Weasley vs. (4) Fred Weasley
Fred never had his twin brother's help to begin with, but now that George is out of the competition (which, I suppose, answers this lingering question), he's the only Weasley twin still standing — which is ironic on at least one spoilery level. But Fred's defied the odds before, and perhaps he can do it again as he steps into the ring against Ron Weasley, the Gryffindor hero that represents the heart of the "Potter" story in many fans' opinions. So, who do you vote for: the brother who means the most to the tale of Harry Potter, or the one who always makes us laugh? We'll find out shortly!

And just in case you want another reminder of how awesome the Weasley twins are (even if only one is still left standing), well, here you go:

They say there are five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. When it comes to my very favorite "Harry Potter" character of all time, I'm currently at the bargaining stage for Remus Lupin as he enters this next duel against Professor Albus Dumbledore… but I have a sneaking suspicion that I'll be moving onto depression very, very soon.

(2) Albus Dumbledore vs. (3) Remus Lupin
I think that even without my strong bias in place, most "Potter" fans will agree with me when I say that Remus Lupin is a fantastic character. He's cool, he's knowledgeable, he's tragic, he's heroic… he's the full package. Sadly for Remus, Albus Dumbledore is all of that and then some, especially in terms of overall importance to the greater "Potter" arc. Lupin and his supporters (aka me voting 100,000 times) will have to dig extremely deep if he's to stand a chance against the Hogwarts headmaster. But if Lupin has to leave the Cup, at least he goes out squaring off against the greatest wizard who ever lived. I can accept that defeat. For now, I'm content with knowing that an excellent battle is about to unfold.

For Harry Potter, it never hurts to be surrounded by beautiful women. But when it comes to the Harry Potter World Cup, it's significantly less enjoyable to watch two of the most beloved of these women — Hermione and Ginny — going wand to wand, with only one of them able to advance into the Elite Eight. Tough decisions lie ahead, muggles!

(1) Hermione Granger vs. (5) Ginny Weasley
In one corner stands Harry Potter's best friend, the smartest witch of her age. In the other is Harry Potter's true love, the witch who commands his heart. Which witch is it going to be: Hermione Granger, the young spell-caster we've known and cherished since "The Sorcerer's Stone," or Ginny Weasley, the onetime "Chamber of Secrets" victim turned cunning hero? We'll let you decide.

Severus Snape has endured a turbulent arc throughout the "Harry Potter" series, but when it comes to the Harry Potter World Cup, he's been coasting by just fine. But all of that is likely to change now that he's up against fan-favorite character Dobby the House Elf, the one creature standing between the Potions master and the Elite Eight.

(2) Severus Snape vs. (6) Dobby the House Elf
This isn't an easy choice. Dobby's a clear fan-favorite, having sacrificed his life for Harry in a moment of great need. That said, Snape essentially did the exact same thing — despite his icy demeanor, the Slytherin wizard lived and died for the Boy Who Lived thanks to the love he had in his heart for Harry's mother. Two characters, both of them adored by the vast majority of "Potter" fandom. Alas, only one can survive into the next round… who's it going to be?

After nearly two full weeks of competition, the Harry Potter World Cup's original pool of 64 characters has thinned down to the Sweet 16 — and among the wizards and witches still remaining in the competition is none other than the titular contender, Harry himself. The Boy Who Lived was always a sure bet to go deep in the World Cup, but how is he going to fare when pressed up against another Chosen One?

(1) Harry Potter vs. (4) Neville Longbottom
If Neville's breathtaking finish in his duel against McGonagall isn't enough proof of his worthiness in this competition, nothing is. Neville has one of the fullest arcs of any character in the entirety of "Potter," starting as a meek and socially incapable boy who transformed himself into a serpent-slaying hero by story's end. That said, are those accomplishments enough to defeat the Boy Who Lived? After all, this is Harry's story, not to mention the fact that the tournament is named after him. Still, someone has to defeat Harry eventually, unless he truly is predestined to win this whole thing. When it comes to the World Cup, could Neville Longbottom be the Chosen One after all, or can we already write this one off as another win for Harry?

And if you're still not sure about who to vote for, don't forget that Matthew Lewis has a pretty convincing pro-Neville argument for you.

Harry Potter World CupWow. If there's another word that better describes the results of the Harry Potter World Cup's second round, I haven't heard of it. After one tough week and over a million votes cast, the dust has finally settled and only 16 wizards and witches are still alive and kicking... though even after the polls closed, two races were still too close to call judging solely by percentages. We have the final tally for both battles, and can declare winners in just a few moments.

But first, as always, before looking forward at the Sweet 16, let's look back on the greater scope of round two. After the jump, find out who won, who lost, and which two contestants were a handful of votes away from moving onto the next round of the World Cup.

The Harry Potter World Cup's second round has been filled with some seriously intense match-ups so far, with one of the fiercest duels coming down between Minerva McGonagall and Neville Longbottom. The Hogwarts teacher and her Gryffindor student have battled back and forth between first and second place for the better part of a week now, and there's still no clear winner in sight.

Well, perhaps some words of encouragement from actor Matthew Lewis, who's played Neville throughout the entire big-screen "Harry Potter" experience, will tip the scales in his favor. We spoke with the 22-year-old actor earlier today about how his character's holding up in the World Cup thus far, and when he learned about Neville's current struggle, he was determined to plead his case to you guys, the voters.

So, why should you vote for Neville? According to the man himself: "Well, quite clearly, he's the best character, obviously!"

All of this has happened before and all of this will happen again in the epic showdown between He Who Must Not Be Named and Harry's father James Potter, who once again find themselves dueling not just for their lives, but for eternal glory in the Harry Potter World Cup. It's the final match of the Diagon Alley division's second round, and it's sure to be one for the books.

Voting for all second round match-ups will close on Friday, July 1 at 12:01 AM EST, which is only a few hours away — you're running out of time to vote, so get to those polls now! You can follow all of the duels right here.

(2) Lord Voldemort vs. (7) James Potter
The Dark Lord killed him before, so why shouldn't he be able to do it again? How about the fact that this time, the murder of James Potter wouldn't come down to skill and surprise alone, but also fan support, and I'm not certain he has it in this match. If enough people rally behind the resurrected James, the Potter clan could rewrite history and finish Voldemort off here and now. They say the only thing Tom Riddle fears is death; if I were Tom Riddle, I'd be afraid right now.
