Rob Zombie fans by now have heard about "The Haunted World of El Superbeasto" for quite a while now. But here's some good news straight from Mr. Zombie. "The movie is finally finished," he told us. And he sounds pretty proud of it: "I watched it the other day and it's hilarious."

For the uninitiated, this animated flick that Zombie calls "a superhero monster sex comedy," features the voices of everyone from Paul Giamatti to Danny Trejo and is based on the comic of the same name by the icon. While promoting "Halloween," Zombie told us that "people are just not going to believe this movie exists. It is so strange." He also called it "a filthy adult movie." You had us at filthy, Rob.

Check out Mr. Zombie in living color below.

Christian BaleThere are days on this job when we have good news to bring you — and then there are the days like today.

As absurd as it may seem, it's sounding more and more like someone besides Christian Bale will soon take flight in the Batman cowl. With a hastily produced "Justice League of America" movie speeding through preproduction, casting is about to begin — and when we posed the question on Tuesday to the man who reinvented the character for "Batman Begins," he confirmed that the "Justice League" train is moving right past him.

"I don't really know anything about it," Bale said of the "JLA" flick, which has already begun approaching such actors as Ryan Reynolds to fill hero roles. "No, there's been no talk with me about 'Justice League'; it's only [reporters] who mention this to me."

Poking some fun at the concept of a superhero group that would have Bruce Wayne standing alongside the Green Lantern, Bale and his "3:10 to Yuma" co-star Russell Crowe teased that perhaps the latter could play Robin. But getting serious for a moment, Bale made it clear that he will only play Batman for Christopher Nolan. Read More...

Ryan ReynoldsGiven that Ryan Reynolds recently suggested that a potential Flash movie might have only died a comic-book death, you'd think asking him what graphic character he'd be most excited to play would be met with a fairly predictable answer. Think again. Faster than the Flash could ever be, Reynolds says the super he's most dying to play is Wade Wilson.

"I've always wanted to do 'Deadpool,' " he enthused, his voice taking on the air of unbridled geek excitement. "I think I would forgo anything to play it in some incarnation."

The "Merc With a Mouth," Wilson is a sarcastic, scheming hero known for his wisecracks and black humor. In other words, a perfect fit for the acerbic Reynolds.

"He's a derivative of the Weapons X program," Reynolds explained of the character's origins (it's the same program, incidentally, that plays so prominently in the backstory of Wolverine). "They turned him into a puddle and shipped him off. Just left him for dead. But he came back with all these mutant powers. And he's pissed off — in a full-fledged, I'm gonna get you way." Terrence HowardAdd another flick to Terrence Howard's busy upcoming roster. Today the Oscar nominee revealed to MTV what he's shooting next. "I'm doing a film called 'It's Called Fighting,' the "Hustle & Flow" star told me this afternoon.

The film Howard is referring to is the next directing outing for "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints" helmer Dito Montiel. Starring Channing Tatum, the film is about the world of underground high stakes street fights (I know...not another one!).

A spokesperson for the film's distributor, Rogue Pictures, however told me that the title has not yet been determined for the flick and that 'It's Called FIghting' is simply what's written on the script.

Howard's role is unknown at present though when asked to describe the film he said it was "like 'Midnight Cowboy. That's the closest thing I can describe it as."

Jesse EisenbergHow do you follow a raunchy comedy hit? Apparently you go to "Adventureland." Yes, "Superbad" director Greg Mottola is slated next to helm a comedy based on his own life and MTV can tell you exclusively who his leading man is. "I'm starting 'Adventureland' in a few months," Jesse Eisenberg told me today while promoting his latest film, "The Hunting Party."

Best known for his role in "The Squid and the Whale," Eisenberg says the film will shoot in Pittsburgh and continues a trend for him. "I play a lot of directors' awkward stages in their lives," he observed with a smile.

"It's based on Greg Mottola and it's about him getting a job at this theme park. It's his life after college," Eisenberg explained and added that the comedy won't be nearly as broad as "Superbad." "It's probably closer [in tone] to 'The Daytrippers,'" Eisenberg said, recalling an earlier Mottola effort.

Does "Adventureland" sound super bad or super good? How does Eisenberg strike you as a lead for this flick? Weigh in below.

David LynchOh, what would he have done with those sweet little ewoks?!? The mind reels at the possibilities. The "Star Wars" story is replete with "almosts" and "what ifs." Christopher Walken as Han Solo? Luke Starkiller? Yeah, yeah, we know all of them. But my favorite "what might have been?" has got to be a "Return of the Jedi" directed by David Lynch.

I had a long chat with the insanely personable maverick that is Mr. Lynch the other day and I couldn't help but ask him how close it came to happening. So I posed the question, "How close did you come?"

"Not close at all," he told me. "I had a meeting with George [Lucas]. I like George. It was his thing. I said, "You should direct this. It’s your thing! It’s not my thing."

Okay, so bottom line, was the offer on the table? Did George offer him the gig? "Yeah," he said, before quickly following the statement up by telling me he officially passed the next day.

It's almost too much for my brain to handle. What do you think Lynch would have made of "Return of the Jedi"? Are you bummed he passed on the opportunity? Sound off below.

MurderballNever let it be said director James Mangold doesn't know how to mix up a career. Two years ago, his acclaimed music biopic "Walk the Line" dominated the awards season. This year he's back with a good old-fashioned Western with "3:10 to Yuma." And now he's keen on playing a game of "Murderball."

"It’s something we’re really excited about," Mangold said about his film inspired by the documentary of the same name from 2005. The critically hailed true life story of quadriplegic athletes who compete in the ultra competitive (and violent) sport of wheelchair rugby is currently in development for Mangold to direct. "We’re working on the script right now. It’s got great characters in that piece. Zupan is a great focal point in the film."

Zupan is Mark Zupan, essentially the hero in the documentary. Paralyzed from a car crash when he was just 18, Zupan was a stand out character in the original film thanks to a tenacious competitive streak and dazzling charisma.

Mangold, for one, is planning on sticking pretty close to the documentary's storyline. "I believe in the documentary. They isolated a great storyline. A lot of the characters and the stories and the way that movie works have been our guide."

Morgan FreemanA thirty-mile-long alien spaceship with mysterious origins is set adrift in our Solar System by an unknown intelligence. What is it? Who built it? What is it doing in our corner of the galaxy?

Morgan Freeman thinks he's just the man to find out.

"I play the captain of the spaceship Endeavor that is charged with rendezvousing with this thing from outer space to find out what it is [and] what its intentions are," Freeman said of his role in "Rendezvous with Rama," the celebrated story from the mind of science-fiction legend Arthur C. Clarke.

Freeman, who has been trying to get the movie made since early in the millennium, said it's still on track to happen, (with "Fight Club" director David Fincher at the helm) - it's just taking a little while longer than expected. "It's a very intellectual science fiction film, a very difficult book to translate cinematically." Freeman said. "[At least] we have found it very difficult to translate, to get ready for film." Alicia KeysIn her short acting career, Alicia Keys has been very careful with her choices, taking roles that play against type, such as an action turn in "Smokin' Aces" or her latest in "The Nanny Diaries." She's always been hesitant to go the expected route for someone with a Grammy-loaded background. "I’ve been pretty dead set on not doing a musical role," she told us today.

Explaining her rationale, she said, "I want to be known for the ability to act as opposed to only [having the] ability to play someone that’s familiar to me or close to my life."

However, all of that is about to change. Asked if she would take on a musically inclined acting role at this point, she confided, "There is one in my head but I can’t tell you. It’s this close to being solidified." Her enthusiasm rising, Keys said, "If ever I’ve dreamed about something, it’s this [role]. It happens to be a mixture of both worlds. She is an entertainer." First, the bad news. When I asked "Terminator 3" star Claire Danes point blank if she'd be interested in coming back to the franchise, she didn't seem too intrigued. "I don't think so," she said. Of course that's not much of a surprise considering she was a last-minute replacement in the last installment of the franchise. "I felt sort of kidnapped by the production," she recalled.

Not that her memories of "Terminator" are all bad. She did pick up one useful skill: "I do know how to fire a machine gun, so be warned! I'm trained! I'm packin'!" It's that much more entertaining to watch her say all of that below. Enjoy as Claire Danes threatens me and in turn, you.
