Halloween is here, and we've got a great treat for you to go along with your mountains of chocolate bars this year: the results of MTV's Killer Halloween! All last week, we asked you to rank 10 of our favorite horror movie killers based on five different attributes — style, weaponry, personality, gross factor and legacy — and we've got the combined results for each of these categories. The winner: one extremely well-rounded horror movie killer to haunt your dreams forever.

1st Place: Freddy Krueger
That's right, none other than "Nightmare on Elm Street" baddie Freddy Krueger is the winner of Killer Halloween! The clear cut winner in three categories — style, personality and legacy — Krueger also more than held his own in the weaponry and gross factor departments, coming in second only to Leatherface of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" fame. Congrats on the win, Freddy… we'll see you in our nightmares tonight!

See the Killer Halloween runners-up after the jump!

Welcome to MTV's Killer Halloween! All week long, we're looking at ten of the greatest horror movie villains of all time, and with your help, we'll determine once and for all just how powerful these murdering psychopaths and evil masterminds really are.

Our contestants: Freddy Krueger ("A Nightmare on Elm Street"), Jason Voorhees ("Friday the Thirteenth"), Michael Myers ("Halloween"), Ghostface ("Scream"), Leatherface ("The Texas Chainsaw Massacre"), Chucky ("Child's Play"), Norman Bates ("Psycho"), Pinhead ("Hellraiser"), Hannibal Lecter ("Silence of the Lambs") and Jigsaw ("Saw").

Halloween

Style, weapons, personality and gross factor aside, a horror movie killer's greatest asset is the legacy he leaves behind, whether we're talking about the continued success of these murderers' respective franchises or the long history of bloodshed they've carved out in the fictional worlds they exist in.

Rank the killers' haunting legacies -- one being completely forgettable, five being everlasting -- beyond the break. This is the last Killer Halloween category, and voting continues until Sunday (October 30) at 7PM EST. Check back on Halloween for all of the final results!

Anyone familiar with director Roland Emmerich's body of work should be able to pick up on a few common threads, namely explosions, disasters, big speeches and general epicness. After directing such large-scale thrillers like "The Day After Tomorrow," "Godzilla" and "2012," Emmerich's decision to direct a film about Shakespeare as he does in "Anonymous" is a surprising choice.

Yes, Bill Pullman's "Our Independence Day" soliloquy before the dog fight against the invading aliens could be described as Shakespearan, but we're still missing the connection between the Bard and the man who froze all of New York City and populated it with ravenous wolves. There must be something we're missing, right?

To make the connection between Roland Emmerich films and William Shakespeare a little clearer, we here at MTV News have combined the two to help the transition to "Anonymous" easier to swallow. With some help from the Prithee Players, we have recreated some of the most memorable moments from Emmerich's film and given them a Shakespearean makeover. Watch scenes from "Universal Soldier," "Stargate," "The Day After Tomorrow" and "ID4" with some thee's and thou's added for extra class and refinement. Maybe now we can see that the Shakespearean influence has been there all along!

Our contestants: Freddy Krueger ("A Nightmare on Elm Street"), Jason Voorhees ("Friday the Thirteenth"), Michael Myers ("Halloween"), Ghostface ("Scream"), Leatherface ("The Texas Chainsaw Massacre"), Chucky ("Child's Play"), Norman Bates ("Psycho"), Pinhead ("Hellraiser"), Hannibal Lecter ("Silence of the Lambs") and Jigsaw ("Saw").

Halloween

Having great style, effective weaponry and a killer personality is all well and dandy, but what really makes a horror killer so special is the gross factor. Whether it's the nausea you feel when gazing upon their faces, or the stomach-churning sensation you suffer on witnessing their grotesque acts of violence, a horror movie killer's bloodsoaked rampage is meaningless without a viewer's need to vomit. Thankfully, our competitors bring the gag reflex in spades.

Vote on the Killer Halloween murderers' respective gross factors — one being tame, five being impossibly revolting — after the jump!

Django Unchained

With the latest addition of Kerry Washington, the already impressive cast of Quentin Tarantino's next movie, "Django Unchained," just got a little more impressive. Throw in his other recent hire -- Don Johnson -- and it's clear that the auteur is up to his usual quirky casting tricks. Tarantino has always been known for his, ah, interesting choices with his ensemble casts, pulling from both mainstream Hollywood actors and the dustiest corners of pop culture, and resurrecting the careers of fallen stars.

"Django Unchained" is no exception, but how does it stack up with the rest of Tarantino's oeuvre? It's got some tough competition from what have become iconic ensembles, so let's take a look at where the new cast stands in comparison.

Ron Howard and Brian Grazer's attempt to adapt Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" series over multiple films and television seasons has hit something of a snag: sporting a high price tag and an unprecedented rollout plan, "Dark Tower" proved too ambitious for Universal to handle. But if Grazer is to be believed, "The Dark Tower" isn't too big for HBO.

Speaking with MTV News at the "Tower Heist" press junket this past weekend, Grazer revealed that "The Dark Tower" is still very much on track, so much so that that HBO has come on board.

"We're going to do ['The Dark Tower'] with HBO," Grazer told us. "We'll do the TV with HBO, and we'll do the movie with… to be determined. We'll do it right."

Beyond the break, rank each horror villain's style points -- one being poor style, five being excellent style -- and check back tomorrow for the results and the next round of voting!
