Last week, we premiered the poster for "The Dark Is Rising," the upcoming (10/5/07) fantasy epic based on the popular book series. Now we have the first in a series of exclusive webisodes that you'll only see on MTV.com. Filmed on set during the making of the movie, the "Real World"-esque segments will follow a group of interns through the course of shooting the picture. We'll be rolling these out bi-weekly (with other cool "Dark Is Rising" stuff going up in the off-weeks), so be sure to check back regularly. In the meantime, watch the first "Dark Is Rising: Interns" webisode right here.

Hotly anticipated, Danny Boyle's upcoming sci-fi thriller "Sunshine" stars Chris Evans, Cillian Murphy and Rose Byrne as crewmembers on a nuke-carrying spaceship tasked to use its massive payload to restart the dying sun. Things soon go awry, and since it's from the director of "28 Days Later" and "Trainspotting," naturally that's when the story really starts getting interesting. In the exclusive clip below, an alarm sounds while two of the crew are on a spacewalk to repair damaged tiles.

As you may have heard by now, it's about to be your chance to become a part of the "Harry Potter" universe before Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling put a big bow on the franchise. Yes, if you're going to be in London on July 1 and have randy thoughts about Rupert Grint (ie. Ron), there's a casting call with your name on it. Check out our full article about the Harry Potter casting call here.

David Yates, director of the current and forthcoming Harry Potter film installments, seems eager to put poor Rupert through his paces for the casting sessions. As you can see from the interviews below, Yates plans to have Grint "snog" a few potential Lavenders and Grint seems to be dreading the uncomfortable situation like we can't possibly imagine.

Are you excited to see Ron find his Lavender? What kind of girl would you like to see in the role? Sound off below.

During press conferences in London over the weekend, the cast and filmmakers from "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" answered lots of questions -- do they want to see Harry die in Book Seven? What was it like to film Harry's first kiss? -- but one tantalizing tidbit remained unanswered: Which character were they referring to, when discussing how they were going to cut someone out of the film, until J.K. Rowling advised them to keep the character in instead? "Jo reads each draft," producer David Heyman had said on Saturday, "she reads each screenplay, and she said, 'You know, I wouldn't do that if I were you. Or you can, but if you get to make a seventh film, you'll be tied in knots.'" "Which character was it?" the Boston Herald asked. "I thought you might ask that," Heyman teased. "I'm not going to say." As word started to spill out about the upcoming Judd Apatow produced comedy, "Walk Hard," we were mighty intrigued. A comedy riff on the recent spate of big screen music biopics? We're there! John C. Reilly singing in his own voice as the fictional Dewey Cox? Yes! "The Office" star Jenna Fischer as his leading lady? Sold! Judd Apatow wrote all about it in a recent column for MTV.

Anyway, this project just gets cooler and cooler. How cool? How about White Stripes frontman Jack White portraying Elvis Presley? White chatted all about the role with us the other day, laughing as he said "my whole life I've been doing research." Check out more in the video below.

Writer/director Jonathan King's new horror-comedy "Black Sheep" (read Kurt Loder's review here) has been generating buzz with its "Shaun of the Dead" take on animal mutation. In a series of guest posts for MTV, King takes us inside the making of the film. In this first entry, he tackles the initial concept of the movie and discusses working with Peter Jackson's world-famous special-effects shop, Weta.

So, I had this idea: a horror movie about sheep. From New Zealand. It was a fun idea that you could make anywhere. But New Zealanders have this, well...special relationship with sheep. I knew that people would enjoy the idea of combining those elements as much as I did: they made me laugh as well as relish the possibilities for splatterific mayhem.

One of the first people we told about the project was Weta Workshop's Richard Taylor. Once he'd got over the reminder of childhood sheep-related traumas, he laughed and said he'd love to help us make the idea a reality. Weta helped answer people's first question: 'Cool idea, but how do you make sheep scary?' Anyone who's ever seen sheep up close knows that it's no big leap: they have sharp hooves, lizardy eyes and hard bony brows. I always knew that if we could capture that on screen, we'd be halfway to making the idea work. Read More...

Zac Efron, I have underestimated you for the last time. How was I to know what you could do with the mere batting of an eye? A single eye! We're not even talking about both! I'm sorry, but I'm still reeling and apparently, so are all of you.

What am I talking about? Well, a few days ago we posted an exclusive clip from the eagerly anticipated musical, "Hairspray." Maybe it's the prosthetics or the way he says "is that braised?" but the focus of my attention was on John Travolta. It would seem I am in the minority.

Take a gander at the picture in the upper right and you'll see what is responsible for a slew of comments on our blog ranging from "OMG, I love that wink!" all the way to "Zac's wink is AMAZING!!! He is soooooooo cute!"

We take our Zac Efron/wink analysis seriously here, so after the jump check out some screen captures and commentary that you can pore over to your heart's content.
