Hi readers! I hate to harp, but I'm going to hit you with a brief PSA before diving in with today's Prop-Watch post. Just so we're all crystal clear, these posts are not intended for serious collectors. There are numerous online resources you can use to educate yourselves on the art and science of prop collecting. Think of this space as a place to find cool crap, stuff you probably never would buy even if you had a spare $10,000 to drop on something completely frivolous. Got it? I'm looking at you out there in the peanut gallery. Good!
Today's Prop-Watch selection comes from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." The cool one, from TV mastermind Joss Whedon and starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. This prop was actually worn by Gellar, albeit in only one episode. Not an episode I've seen, but I'm guessing some of you "Buffy" fans will be pretty psyched. Read More...
Okay, I know that this makes two "Star Wars"-centric eBay Prop-Watch posts in a single week, but this thing is so badass that I just couldn't resist. For starters, it's a real, live prop from the best of the series: "Star Wars - Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back." It's also a very large thing. The sort of item that your jealous friends can't possibly miss.
I totally dropped the ball yesterday on eBay Prop-Watch. With Michael Jackson's memorial service playing in the background and all sorts of cool happenings on the MTV blog network, it just kinda got away from me. I'm back today, and with a pair of cool items to make up for my absence.

Another real, actual movie prop for you today, complete with a certificate of authenticity. I suspect this will fall outside what many of you might be willing to spend, but it's cool enough that I thought it deserved an eBay Prop-Watch shout.
I've been bad, dear readers. You may have noticed in the comments for yesterday's eBay Prop-Watch that someone took issue with my posting of a potentially fake movie prop from one of the "Harry Potter" movies. I did explicitly state that there was no definitive proof of its authenticity, but I also recognize that there's a serious collector's market out there for this kind of thing.
For yesterday's inaugural eBay Prop-Watch I served up a little piece of film history that was excessive in every way. Today's pick is a lot more affordable, and it earns extra points for being an actual movie prop. Sure there are 6 days left on the auction, but there are also no bids yet and a moderate $50 Buy It Now price.
Welcome to a new daily feature here on MTV Movies Blog, eBay Prop-Watch. Every day I will mine the depths of the Internet's go-to auction site for some funky, crazy or outright cool bit of film ephemera. You won't always be seeing actual props here (like today) nor will the picks necessarily be affordable to the common citizen (also like today), but I promise to always make it something to drop your jaws.
