Michael Jackson Memorabilia In A VERY Pricey eBay Prop-Watch

Disclaimer: There's no way of telling if this item is real or not. The seller admits up front that he doesn't have a certificate of authenticity. He does say that one will presumably soon be incoming. He also expresses his willingness to hand-deliver the item anywhere in the world and his wish that it ends up in a museum. I somehow doubt that any of you readers will be ponying up to buy this item, but all of this should be mentioned nonetheless.

SO! "Michael Jackson's This Is It" is out this week. The premiere is tonight and the wide release hits tomorrow. Suffice to say, the world of pop culture has Michael Jackson on the mind right now. 'Saw VI' Is Out This Friday, So 'Saw V' Is The Subject Of Today's eBay Prop-Watch

Today's eBay Prop-Watch pick is kind of a gimme. "Saw VI" is out on Friday. So what better item to feature than a prop from "Saw V"? Not that I can really speak from a position of experience; those "Saw" movies are far too gory for my fragile sensibilities to endure. I've got to give it up for the franchise though; all five previously released films in the series have grossed five times or more than their budget.

So today's Prop-Watch pick is from "Saw V." It might come as a surprise to learn that it isn't a piece of a Jigsaw puzzle/death trap. Nor is it a Jigsaw doll, an item which appears to be fairly popular on eBay. No... today's item is something completely different. And wholly terrifying. If I caught a glimpse of this on the street late at night, I would quickly run in the opposite direction. Screaming would be a distinct possibility. Drain Your Bank Account For 'Where The Wild Things Are' In Today's eBay Prop-Watch

Today's eBay Prop-Watch pick is really freaking cool. It's prohibitively expensive too, but we'll get to that in a minute.

This Friday, audiences across the nation will finally get a chance to see what director Spike Jonze did with his adaptation of the classic Maurice Sendak children's book, "Where the Wild Things Are." It's one of those classics like "Goodnight Moon," a work that's enduring enough to leave multiple generations with a sense of nostalgia at the very mention of it.

Jonze is perhaps the perfect director to bring Sendak's imagination-fueled, dream-like vision to life. I personally think that audiences are going to divided in the final analysis, but the movie is something special nonetheless. 'The Howling' Takes A Bite Out Of Today's eBay Prop-Watch

I'm not telling you anything you don't already know here, but werewolves kind of kick ass. They are tragic figures, afflicted with a disease that causes them to turn into mindless, slavering beasts beneath the light of a full moon. Vampires have their own share of tragedy, but they keep it well-hidden behind layers of cunning and deceit. Werewolves are just poor souls who've been victimized by bad luck.

'Shaun Of The Dead' Zombies 'Got Wood' In Today's eBay Prop-Watch

One of the movies that I expect will perform well this weekend -- off of some solid buzz and a great cast, primarily -- is "Zombieland." They may not have penetrated the zeitgeist to the same degree as vampires and werewolves (thanks "Twilight"!), but the shambling, brain-eating dead are most definitely "in."

Mount The Head Of A Mogwai On Your Wall In Today's eBay Prop-Watch

What can I say? I'm a sucker for a gremlin. "Gremlins" even. Joe Dante's classic comedy horror flick "Gremlins" -- not to mention the criminally underrated follow-up "Gremlins 2: The New Batch" -- are delightfully entertaining relics from the '80s. One of the few surviving classics that remains untouched by Hollywood's weird fascination with franchise reboots, these are movies that still hold up today. There's plenty about them that's dated, sure. But the pair are as entertaining, as funny, as immediately memorable as they've always been.

That's why I'm featuring a second "Gremlins" item for eBay Prop-Watch in as many weeks. This is a good one too, even better than last week's gremlin head. 'Back To The Future Part II' Gives Us A One-Cola Future In Today's eBay Prop-Watch

I'm torn by today's eBay Prop-Watch pick. It's suspicious: the seller is very up front about there being no certificate of authenticity. On the other hand, it's from "Back to the Future Part II." Perhaps not the best of the "Back to the Future" movies, but definitely the most imaginative of the three.

See, "Back to the Future Part II" jumps around in time far more than either of the other two. We see present-day 1980s, an alternate present in which Biff's possession of a sports almanac from the future leads to a "Mad Max"-like dystopia, the '50s, the Wild West and -- best of all -- the future. A future filled with flying cars and hoverboards, robot waiters and a one-cola world. Pepsi Perfect is apparently the choice of the next generation. Read More...

The Head Of A Gremlin In Today's eBay Prop-Watch

I usually try to maintain some degree of mystery on what the eBay Prop-Watch pick is until AFTER the break, but today's item is too cool not to rave over from the offing. "Gremlins" is a classic. Comedy/horror at its best. Director Joe Dante has been pretty quiet since 1998's "Small Soldiers" -- a highly underrated gem and definite future Sick Day Stash fodder -- but he's about to re-emerge in a big way if the buzz on his 3-D thriller "The Hole," which just picked up accolades at the Venice Film Festival, is accurate.

Wow. Have I got one cool eBay Prop-Watch for you today. Fans of James Cameron and "Aliens" will want to pay extra attention, as this concerns you specifically. It's rather expensive -- though not ridiculously so -- and available for local pick-up only in Indiana, but the right fan will jump on this rare offering regardless of expense or distance.

"Aliens" was recently named the number one greatest movie sequel by Empire Online. It was a potent follow-up to Ridley Scott's 1979 original, giving fans more in just about every way, especially when it came to the titular aliens.
