New Yorkers get a lucky break in two weeks. Starting November 22 and continuing through to the end of April 2010, a career retrospecting Tim Burton exhibit will live at New York's Museum of Modern Art. The exhibit will consist of sketches, paintings, storyboards, puppets, props, costumes and moving image galleries from Burton projects known and unknown. Fans won't want to miss such a rare opportunity to look closely at the legendary filmmaker's process as brings his out-of-this-world ideas together.

For shame if you don't know who Burton is. He's behind an incredible number of bona fide modern classics: "Edward Scissorhands," "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure," "Beetlejuice," "Batman" & "Batman Returns"... a lot of noteworthy stuff. Today's Daily TwitPic actually comes from MoMA's Twitter feed. They posted an image yesterday, a sneak peek at a few of the items which will be incorporated into the exhibit. Check it out after the jump. Read More...

Many of you are going to have just one word for this morning's Daily TwitPic:

Awwwwwwwww!

"New Moon" star Peter Facinelli may drink the blood of helpless fuzzy creatures in his role as patriarch of the Cullen clan, but in real life he's more interested in saving them. Or at least just making friends with them. The headline above doesn't lie. Facinelli shakes hands with a penguin in the pic after the jump. A cute, fuzzy penguin. And to the penguin's credit, it manages to keep itself together, even in the presence of a much-loved "Twilight" star. Maybe it's just crapping its pants (fur?) because it knows what those Cullen people are capable of. Read More...

Our Twitter followers may have noticed a tweet from me yesterday shouting out to a certain video game. "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2," (our review!) likely the biggest-selling game release of the year, hit store shelves and fans predictably turned out in droves to buy it. The truly hardcore -- those who didn't find a way to slip around the street date and snag it early, that is -- hit up midnight launch parties the evening before, highly publicized events featuring contests and celebrity guests.

Similarly, yesterday's Twitter-Wood feed was littered with shouts to "MW2." Everyone from "Juno" writer Diablo Cody to Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst. Ice-T, self-professed gaming fanatic, also turned out to show his support. He even posed for a ridiculous twitpic, donning the night vision goggles included with the most expensive special edition version of the game. That's exactly what you'll see in the Daily TwitPic after the jump. Read More...

This morning's Daily TwitPic is full of win, in that it's got something for everyone. Twilighters in the audience will appreciate the subject, Christian Serratos, who plays one of Bella's human school pals, Angela, in the "Twilight" series. What's more, Serratos poses for her pic surrounded by fog-shrouded woods of the sort you'd see in the area around Forks, Washington.

Did I mention that Serratos is nude? That's where everyone else comes in. The pic is an ad for PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which is apparently trying to sex up its image a bit. Serratos, in baring all, makes the point that killing animals for their fur is a bad thing. Sure, she could've put SOMETHING on, but that wouldn't have gotten your attention quite as easily, would it? Read More...

Arnold Schwarzenegger is always going to be a movie star to me, even though the duty of governing California has kept him away from Hollywood in recent years. Here's hoping that his cameo appearance in "The Expendables" is a sign that he wants to get back to acting after he finished with politics.

He's still hooked in enough that he'll take a trip to present an award. Kirk Douglas, one of the original tough guy actors, was recently given the British Film Academy's Britannia Award, and Schwarzenegger was the one to present it to him. Douglas has been quiet in recent years, but he's also 92 years old. With classics like "Spartacus," Stanley Kubrick's "Paths of Glory" and "Gunfight at the OK Corral" under his belt, the man has earned himself a rest, the better to observe the success of his son, Michael, and to collect lifetime achievement awards, like the one seen after the jump in today's Daily TwitPic. Jealousy is a... well it's not cool. And it's hard to look at today's Daily TwitPic without feeling a few twangs. Blame Jeremy Piven, star of the HBO hit series "Entourage." While most of us were sitting in the comfort of our own homes, watching the game on hi def TVs with ample supplies of beer, chips and friends all around, Piven was freezing his ass off on the field at one of the Yanks/Phillies games at Yankee Stadium.

He still had a cooler night though, didn't he? In the pic below, you can see Piven posing for the shot next to a very large man in a Yankees windbreaker. Given the setting and outfit choice, non-sports fans can be forgiven for assuming said gentleman is a Yankee. My keen investigative journalism skills tell me otherwise however. Scanning down the pic's comments list, you can clearly see someone identify the guy as Brian Urlacher, star linebacker for the Chicago Bears. Go journalism. Read More...

This morning's Daily TwitPic is a little bit deep cut. You should know who Danny DeVito is. Even if you're not old enough to remember comedy classics like "Twins," "Ruthless People" or "Batman Returns" (he was The Penguin!), not to mention the hit TV series "Taxi," he's still sitting in the public eye thanks to the success of FX series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." It isn't too sunny in Philly this morning though. GO YANKS!

But I digress. Today's Daily TwitPic sees DeVito sitting down for a photo op with an old friend, perennial "that guy" actor Tracey Walter. Seriously, you've seen him before. Walter actually beat DeVito to the "Batman" franchise, playing The Joker's top henchman in the first movie, directed by Tim Burton. He has appeared with DeVito in a number of films though, including the awesome, ridiculously underrated dark comedy "Death to Smoochy." Read More...

I love it when headlines write themselves. This is one of those mornings. You all know who Peter Facinelli is of course. Star of the '90s high school comedy classic, "Can't Hardly Wait." Right? He's also in some movie called "Twilight," which I think has to do with vegetarians or vampires or forks or something like that. Who can tell these days?

Sooooo... right. In today's Daily TwitPic, the Cullen family patriarch poses for a photo with a cup strapped to his head. What appears to be a styrofoam cup. Not very green, Peter. I'm pretty certain this pic in some way comes from Peter's time on the "Nurse Jackie" set, as he's clearly wearing a lab coat and stethoscope. It's true that Carlisle Cullen is a doctor too, but if this were an image from the "Eclipse" set, Facinelli's face would be a whole lot paler. Anyway, hit the jump to see the "Can't Hardly Wait" star looking very serious. With a cup strapped to his head. Read More...

The Halloween fallout continues in today's Daily TwitPic. And wouldn't you know it, today brings a "Twilight"-related Halloween post. It's shocking, I know.

The Daily TwitPic star this morning is Billy Burke, who plays Bella Swan's (Kristen Stewart) dear old dad in the movies. Burke and his wife Pollyanna Rose went out trick or treating dressed as famously dysfunctional couple Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen, respectively. I'm guessing that their night ended better than the real-life relationship did. Get a peek at Burke and Rose in their Halloween attire after the jump. Read More...

I have a sneaking suspicion that this post-Halloween, Monday morning Daily TwitPic is going to be familiar to a lot of you. With a fanbase as rabid as "Twilight"'s, a reveal like this has a way of spreading like wildfire across the community. Still, a Daily TwitPic is a Daily TwitPic, and this one is an early glimpse at "Eclipse."

One of the new characters introduced in the saga's third book/movie is Riley, who will be played by Xavier Samuel. He's a newborn vampire in the thrall of Victoria (previously Rachelle Lefevre, now Bryce Dallas Howard), a pawn the vampiress uses in her plans for exacting revenge on Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) for the death of her mate, James (Cam Gigandet). To celebrate last week's successful "Eclipse" wrap. director David Slade posted this first look at Samuel-as-Riley "between set ups." Read More...
